I would rather listen to my favorite radio station in the background instead of the repetitive music; I'll admit it is too repetitive. But advise people that in the real world, it isn't this simple making money in the real stock market; markets are much more sensitive with fast news. Except when you lose in this game and in a casino game, you just cry; in real life, you would feel depressed and angry.
Wall Street III: THE CRASH. Simulates the economic meltdown of 2005, you play a broken balding Benedict (who now resembles Larry the Lawyer) trying to crawl back up, after the Benedict fortune was devalued back to 500,000. If you lose you do what any self respecting Wall Street Tycoon traditionally does, jump out a window, before your business partners sell you out for immunity. Lots of intrigue.
@Sambucacat Also, the fact that Americans, Europeans and other employees tend to go on sporadic strikes, incite riots, AND to maintain the approval of share holders, to prevent a share holder coup (ala Eisner and Disney Wars) a NEW FEATURE: corporate responsibility. (in which, the Benedict foundation doles out mega bucks, to do things like placate countries with unrest).
SHADY DEALING: a new feature (you can gamble on shady deals, common in the late 90s-2000s). ie Bohemian grove stuff.
@Sambucacat New feature in WSK3:The Crash. After years of decadent New Yorker living, such as cocaine, political-economic stress, assassination attempts from various family members, the health of the "kid" is very very sketchy and as a balding 50, on the verge of abyss. You must battle stress, a cardio meter, and a conscientious meter. (after 2 decades of fucking up America, causing deaths, and "shady dealings"
@Sambucacat cont: 2 decades of fucking up America, causing deaths from shady dealings, and untold suffering the Kid's heart is quite heavy ( this compounds his poor health). Should the conscientious meter, fall too low, this causes "heart meter to take a hit", if the "kid" dies with zero conscientious, he'll be granted a chance to fight for his soul. (namely, give back tonnes of money to what ever the player invested in "shady dealings" option.
@Sambucacat To circumvent this fate of battling your doppelganger (the young kid vs the man version of him tired old man), The player can spend time to maintain the health of the old man. Or invest in people (but this takes a tole on the recovering "benedict" fortune. (which can hardly grow through investments during the Bush crash. OR the "Whistler Blower" option. Mr B can invest heavily in PR. go on to shows like Cobert and Daily (to prevent assassination), and whistleblow.
@Sambucacat If Mr. B's actions are sincere, ie he volunteers in person, instead of making just making faceless donations through his foundation. He gains the approval of the hard working American. (But Banks tell you to sod off), so credit unions and other humane sources of funding (but significantly substandard) can slowly help B's fortune recover, but of course not at 600Bn level.
Wall Street Kid II: Divorce Court. After Prisila divroces The Wall Street Kid, and leaves him broke in the street taking every dime of his billions, the kid now has to start from scratch. You start out as a burger flipper at YcDonalds, dealing stocks with your $8.00 an hour, and your goal is to gain $10,000.00 so you can rent that new apartment, and buy that used 1991 Ford Probe.
@Tinkidink Well, I have some bad news, dude. SOFEL does not make videogames anymore. They have went back to their primary goal since the company was founded in 1979: To help with business application systems development, multimedia service and system development, and the development of RFID services and systems.
This is holds a special place in my heart, as I bought it while on vacation in New York City, which made buying a game about Wall Street seem all the more cool.
Difficult yet oddly not at all annoying.
Thanks for uploading!
Incidenatally, I think "Reebucks" refers to Sears-Roebucks.
Reebucks is a reference to Reebok shoes. At the time the game was released, Nike had recently introduced the Air Jordan. Other companies had similar lines of shoes and the companies became huge.
I remember this game from like fifteen years ago. I could never figure out how to get past the first portion of the game. I never made any money. This game drove me nuts, but it's a part of my childhood (as it seems to be a part of yours as well).
Some of the songs from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, the more cheerful, upbeat ones outside of the courtroom, remind me of the music from this game. Anyone agree?
yea, i never could get past the first portion of the game either so i know exactly how you felt. the game just has a certain charm to it that made me keep coming back for more :)
i haven't played any of the phoenix wright games although they look really cool!
Jack: the Dipshit CFO that gives huge ass bonuses to overpaid upper management employees with the bailout money despite the fact that their company is going down the toilet
I use to play this game when I was little kid. Brings back memories. I spent my whole childhood playing video games lol. Great commentary. I bet the cast does speak like that LOL. U rock!
me too! everytime i play this game it brings back so many good memories. that's probably why i love it so much and many others don't seem to like it :(
yea, when i owned the game i couldn't even make it past the first month... but then once i started talking to connie every day it was easier. was that your strategy too?
thanks man, you are awesome! oh my gosh, i thought i was the only one that owned this game as a kid, lol! yea i don't think it's possible to beat the game unless you talk to Connie every day and buy her tips. i noticed you like Maniac Mansion? That is one of my ALL TIME faves, possibly even my #1!!!
Maniac Mansion is my #1 game too. I used to play it for hours at a time. I used to like putting the hamster in the microwave LOL. What I like about the game was it had so many alternate endings. My favorite characters where Razor and Bernard. It is great to find someone that likes the same games I do. You are my new best friend LOL
Yea, putting the hamster in the microwave was CLASSIC!!! And I loved the music in the game too, each character had their own soundtrack! Man, you're making me want to play that game now!
Okay I'm a little behind on my vid watching but this was worth waiting to see. I was more listening to this and looking up as I was making dinner and I really enjoyed your explaination of this game =)
i soo love ur ending song... i wanna take it to my cellphone ringsignal :-)
