those would be the ones who go on arguing as it goes down... they deny it by avoiding or simply ignoring the urgency of the captains plea.

Certainly, but I met those who out right deny the ship is sinking... almost wrote the "sink is shipping". For example those who deny that human actions caused the ship to sink, and thus all of the people on it to die. Those who would say, the ship is going to sink anyway, or the ship isn't really sinking at all as opposed to denying the urgency of the ship sinking.
