The airlines are also worried about the backs of the seats hitting the tits of the passengers to the rear. You need not worry about that. hahahahahaha
Why is it that if I have a 5 lb. overweight piece of luggage, I get charged for it, but a 100 lb. overweight person, if they can still buckle the seat belt, doesn't? Seriously, something needs to be done about the fatties onboard the planes. I have to diet all the time to stay normal weight, and I eat less in a day than most chubsters do at lunch, so why should I have to give part of my seat to them? I will also, say, though, that the seats are small even for a normal person.
Mary, I agree that connectivity would help a lot, but if another passenger "takes over most of my seat", that won't help. I'll give up an armrest, but I won't bend around someone's belly for an entire flight. To put up with that, I don't need to be connected, I have to be comatose.
I think it is simple... If you are within a charted obese weight range (based on height and weight) then you get charged extra for being over weight. I look at it like this. If I take 20kgs of baggage with me on a flight I don't get charged. But if I take 30 kgs I get charge for say 5kgs. Yet someone who is obese and carrying on themself about 40kgs more than me is more than welcome to put that on the plane. Is this fair? No I don't think so... Would love to know others comments.
I have to say, if I had to choose between legroom or connectivity, I'd be in a pickle. I find connectivity to be a great distraction. I think I'd give up an inch for that.
yeah I'd agree..I was too excited to care about the small legroom. I'd give some inches for connectivity too. I wish they would bring touchscreen e-mail access/webpage surfing or co-op multiplayer games or even match up with someone in the cabin with checkers..chess..poker whatever..
I flew cathay pacific in economy class - in the middle of the middle patch of seats for 15 1/2 hours...nice airline but i'm 6' 1".. and not to be racist or anything but I swear those seats were designed for cantonese/chinese because my knees where up in the air.
In a way i'm almost for bringing back semi-regulations to improve the health of the aviation industry.. luxury will come back, and higher paying jobs will as well.
(and on the large people..no brainer they should pay for 2 seats.)
I'm 6'4.. i'll only fly airlines that have a semi reasonable seat pitch ie: jet blue... Flying in the "space saver seats" is mind numbing to me and extremely painful.
i would be more than happy to trade the connectivity for a few inches of legroom... having a tv doesn't distract me from the 12 year old slamming his seat into my knees thinking it will somehow make my legs shrink.. Fat people should be forced to buy a second seat if they encroach on another passengers seat.
Freaken HOT!!!!

Connectivity versus legroom..now that makes me think for a second...

Here's a solution: pack all the fatsos in
cargo planes and charge them by the pound. I've had to sit next to this huge guy
on an 8 hour flight...not fun, not fun at all.
especially when he had to get up and use
the can.

I think there is a huge market for Fat Airlines. Tagline - "We've got room for you here."
