"they" passed on the Godful and golden path because they saw they were not in control and in fact being held accountable for their wrongdoings.......they would rather do whatever floats into their so-called "minds" and get catered to, and at the others' of us's expense...
the "film" industry was/is at least partly a Godless mess. what with the "fight" over ownership and use of the "wayback machine" and Godless tricks, techniques and tools that were made use of.. too many and Godless cooks in the kitchen make messes that the rest of us get stuck with. too bad the u.s government and so-called military barked up the wrong tree and too long and we are still dealing with a Godless mess that should have stopped decades and centuries ago. passed on the gold 'n Godful.
woah -- I have NEVER seen this footage of Garbo before. where did this footage come from? do you know who owns it, or if it exists in an archive? any information would be fantastic. thanks!
Renee adoree's death was tragic as she was so young. Antonio Moreno didn't really fall of the radar, he continued to act well into the 50's, not starring rolls, but he acted just the same.. Handsome guy
the Marion Davies clip is actually a costume test for The Red Mill ('27), where's the clips of Shearer and Crawford from?, is that a Garbo costume test? (btw, I heard/read somewhere that Ramon Novarro and Billy Haines "roomed" together, *wink wink*)
I wonder if he'd ever been a guest at San Simeon; I know William Haines was there often, pal-ing around with Marion's neice Pepi and Louise Brooks, who also happened to be Pepi's best friend. Now there's a crew you'd love to be dancing on the tables with.
Yeah, well, reminds me of what Mae West Said..."Ihe gal who works at Paramount all day and FOX all night." Billy and Jimmy (his boyfriend who was a sailor he picked up in the bushes of Washington Square) never sat around Friday Nights with nothing to do.
I'm more partial to Ramon Novarro, myself--even if I could've only had him as a platonic partner in crime. Herbert Marshall's hand re-touched, athletically posed photos of him take my breath away, every time I see them. Seeing him star onscreen with Greta Garbo, was like witnessing the time-space continuum of gorgeousness folding on itself.
Splendid! I'd place this about 1927 or even early 1928, given the short time Lillian Gish was at Metro...Lon Chaney's clip was from 1926's "Tell It To The Marines", where he trains Billy Haines, of all people, to be a boxer....Antonio Moreno fell off the radar quickly...Renee Adoree died young, in 1933...Lucille LeSeuer had just changed her name to Joan Crawford.

Actually, it was Tony's rich wife Daisy that fell off rather quickly...the cliff that is. Leaving him the fortune....
