  • @richiebacker1 HAHAAA i can just imagine, but it surely helped him out, yeah its great to know your problem, just make sure thats your only swing though, standing tall.

  • @helenathena Yeah that's a good shout, we dont want any "analysis paralysis" eh?!

Am itching to get out and play actually but there's a foot of snow here in the Middle of England! :-(

  • @richiebacker1 lol no i already know my problem. its just a tendency i move to the left on my down swing so my club face opens, just feels natural to me

  • @helenathena Hey, it's great your in the elite few who know their problem! lol :-)

I'm 6'6" and hit the odd block if I hunch rather than stand up straight & tall & my posture makes the world of difference to my quality of strike.

I've got a mate who slid left on his downswing and his pro used to have him shouting "WALL!" at impact during his lessons imagining he was standing against an invisible wall... Freaked a few people out on the driving range I can tell you! ;-)

  • @PUArtista i suffer from blocks to the rights once in a while, lol its the worst tendency to have,,,,

  • @helenathena You've obviously never had the shanks!!

Try standing up a little taller to the ball with your chin up - good posture will give you more room to turn back and through should stop those nasty blocks x

  • leaning into it is abs not what to do ...swing flatter with more body rotation and less hand speed is more reliable...try it see what works for you...leaning will cause chunks and blocks to the right

  • He's playing back into the wind, so picking it clean will put a lot less spin on the ball. If he went down on it with a divot, the ball goes straight up into the air, and he would not know how far it's going to go.

  • @MrLuigiFercotti He hit it low

  • He ment to put more forward spin on, to hit it low, the ball was right back by his right foot, he leaned into it, he meant to hit it low.

  • @GwaishfulGuy

Almost looks like he hit it thin on purpose, which will give a lower flight. A very soft swing as well.

You can't put forward spin on the ball, only reduce backspin.

  • @MrLuigiFercotti True, but swings can be deceptive, look at ernie else, slow swing, but he has the power behind him.

  • @GwaishfulGuy

The trick for wind playing is hitting it reasonably hard, but not putting much spin on it. Not easy to do. Hitting it hard, low spin, and low is really tough, because hitting it lower and harder add spin. Frankly, I'm not good enough to mess around with my swing in the wind, I just try to hit it solid and adjust accordingly.

  • it wasnt fat he didnt even take a divot

  • his reaction looked like he caught it fat
