Hey Chris. I havn't talked to you in a minute! lol. Just wanted to say I feel stronger then ever. I've been eating plenty of calories from fruit everyday and a huge green smoothie at night time. I usually start the day with mini watermelons and have bananas for lunch. Well Just wanted to stop by and say Muscle building is good. Ive been sticking to the compound movements like dips, squats,deadlifts,pullups/chin ups and one armed pushups. well Talk to ya soon and make a new video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great inspiration . the haters on here are just looking for someone to piss off. dont even respond to them. take all men over 50 and dude, your body is in the top 1% of that group. id give anything to look like you . keep it up
@limbotoobobo Considering that I suffer rather severe nerve radiculopathy, am limited by a glass low back, am over six ft with narrow joints, long limbs/ structure not designed for weight lifting at all, not to mention that I train only 40 minutes per week total w/ weights, without convenient meal supplements, pills, powders, gimmicks, or "slow to assimilate tissue bulking foods" such as easily add bulk, then thanks. Did I mention my auto accident. All true but played down in this vid.
@RawFitChris Boohoo, congratulations on having an average arm on such a restricted diet and all the other bollocks you said. All I see is excuses in an attempt to make yourself appear to have done something exceptional. If you have a glass back you should probably have it replaced with titanium rods (like me) and increase your gelatine intake and start with some GHR or good mornings. The increased gelatine will also help your nerve problem.
@RawFitChris Thats just all excuses. maybe if you ate from a range of foods and adhered to the homo sapiens omnivore nature you wouldnt have all these problems.
He was in a Severe car accident which is why he has back and nerve issues , you have no idea what you're talking about , the REASON he is as strong and healthy at his age is because of his diet.
There's no way you can deadlift 400 lbs, as you mention in this video. You have HUGE arms in relation to the size of your body. Do you only train arms? Is that why your workout is only 1 hour per week? It's all arm training? Your shoulders are tiny, you have no chest, the rest of you is very small and weak. You set yourself up for criticism when you make such bold statements in a video, friend. NO chance you deadlift 400. Post a video of you doing it and your address, and I'll send u a check
@MrJaketthomas I TOP dead-lifted 400. In case you did not know, a "top dead-lift" is a pull from pins set at knee height. Not bad for a person with very long limbs and poor lower back (I am NOT designed at all for lifting weights) And the video HERE does not do me justice you are right. Check out my website for better pics.Ironically I never train my arms directly. PS I intend to publish lots more next year. Since THIS video I have gained 20 pounds, mostly my back shoulders, thighs & trapezius.
@RawFitChris Top deadlifts will definitely increase your poundages, but with your frame and size, I still don't believe you even top deadlifted 400. I'm not saying this to be an asshole. I respect your level of health and energy. I just don't think someone should market themselves as a bodybuilder when they don't look the part. I've seen 150 lb bean poles doing only bodyweight exercises marketing themselves as corny "Raw Muscle Boy" monickers. If u can't bench over 300, ur not a "bodybuilder".
@MrJaketthomas WEll I am not saying that you are a half-hole but I am not a bodybuilder nor did I ever call myself that. You miss the point entirely. I only demonstrated the what would happen on a 100% raw vegan diet for ten years with only an hour of exercise per week. Nothing more nothing less. When I train for size by feeding myself many extra calories JUST FROM FRUIT, I gain 25 more pounds But then conservation is basic law.
Also, There is a huge difference between Conventional standard body building, as most people comprehend that term, and real true honest biological Body building at the cellular level which includes the muscles yet goes WAY beyond just that 1 dimension .
Stop being a mental ' dumb bell ' and start to think outside the box . dont be so close Minded
Real ' body building' in the true sense of the term is just as much about the quality of the air you breath, the water you drink and your diet as training with Weights is, as all of those things form your physical structure from a to z
Lets get beyond the Muscle head definition of body building, which is shallow and childish, and go MUCH deeper and real than that
Will you give us an outline of what you eat in a day?
I was raw vegan for 2.5 years and after initial healing, found I couldn't last on it - thinking it had to do with too much gourmet, then too much fruit, and not enough greens...
@ameliabedelia99 Lets just say that I consume fresh juices, fruit smoothies, and fruit itself for my carb calories and protein. Additional protein and nutrition from lots of dark greens, juiced or smoothies. And some other raw whole foods. No snacks powders or gimmicks. I consume a lot of calories so one must think EFFICIENCY.
@haridham Of course it is immoral. Anyone who consumes meat unless they are starving is a selfish violent murderer. What part of Tho Shalt Not Kill do they not understand.
@1madaboutguitar Trust me- when I first gained from 133 to over 200 when I owned my educational fitness store 25 years ago, people accused my of taking steroids behind my back. I was DELIGHTED! I never as much as took and aspirin or had more than about two cups of coffee in my entire life, so I was happy to see them impressed with my gains!
@thatfruitarianchick You are kind but I am small by bodybuilding standards in this video. But I am on the path to building much more and my recuperation is thu the roof compared to when I ate gourmet raw (a necessary transition if you want to get people to at least get off the SAD onto raw in general). If my long limbed genetics allow me to exploit the amazing health and healing I am experiencing, then you will see a new improved thicker more muscular Chris next year.
@aggressivekid5256 Yes, pound for pound shorter people have. That would be easy. My long lanky body is not designed for lifting weights at all! But I am a firm believer to wor your weak points in life not your strong ones so much. Otherwise I would have been a tennis player or something. But I needed to improve my strength and muscle mass, so I chose the more difficult route. (Doing something that is very limited to one's structure).
@wolvesatemyguru If a man wants to increase strength and/or muscle size, then he must train progressively. Diet does not matter per se. EXCEPT for health & efficiency. And of course energy. Fruit is the universally agreed upon finest source of carbohydrate- THAT is the best fuel (most energy/least residue) If all you want is "size" without healthy performance, then eat cooked foods, animal foods, and "powders and junk"...I've been there done that with both. And prefer raw by far.
@RawFitChris i agree with chris. i used to consume massive amounts of protein and animal products and got t b 170lbs at 5'9. then for health reasons switched to raw diet with high fruit. the energy is incredible compared to cooked food and shit.. however i may not be as big, but i am a lot leaner, have more endurance, happier, and energy levels are insane. your whole life changes basically.. emotionally, physically and mentally. im 18 by the way
@kratosSOZ Great that you discovered this and you are 18.It would be interesting to see what would happen if you underwent a 4-6 month training cycle on increasing your calories from fruit, making sure to get an average of at least 3000; perhaps even 3400 as you got into your heavy poundages, and approached 165-170 bodyweight. You are blessed with good leverages if you are 5'9. Who knows what your potential would be eating high fruit!
@RawFitChris iknow i am very thankful.. id like to pass this way of life to others, but as you know some find it repulsive some how haha(idk whats so bad with fruit and veggies). i am actually looking foward to train early january. Im doing fasting, to healing digestive health from abuse of cooked food in the fast. Therefore i will b able to absorb and utilize the nutrients from the fruits more. I will keep that in mind about the 3400 cals. thanks for words your on the subject
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT right now im 131, i just started a lemon juice fast.. and no i am not currently lifting.. i will early january.. hbu? much do u weigh, and do u lift?
@wolvesatemyguru Yes, and everyone should be reminded that strength CAN be dramatically improved by training the neuromuscular system primarily. Personally I needed more muscle mass, so I focus more on the basics. But those monks are true athletes as well.
@TheTonganMammoth If you are short stature, thick joints, and have no chronic health problems or structural limitations then you can be as big and strong as you have the willpower to continue to lift heavier and heavier. You can further increase size by eating empty calories, and slow-to-assimilate foods such as chicken, beef, fish, eggs, dairy, refined carbs, etc. "Nitrogen retention" means you will smell pretty bad too. Then you can take steroids to really swell up. Go for it. Enjoy...
@RawFitChris How'd steroids get in there? Anyways, I'm asking if I can get to 260 lbs using weights and sticking to your diet? Yes or No? And without the sarcasm this time...lol.
@TheTonganMammoth I've found that this diet (done in an educated informed manner) significatnly increases recuperation. Strength (& corresponding hypertrophy) are vastly improved compared to any other diet. Everything else equal. The important health benefits (I say BASICS) that few people, muscle builders or not will experience, are more than most people can even imagine, since they "sustain" on a grain based, cooked, and/or animal based diet. No contest.
@RawFitChris Okay then, so how come the great weightlifting squads in the world, and including the greatest team ever, the Bulgarians under Abadjiev, don't eat raw fruit diets?
@DRu9 Some day. Hopefully. And they will benefit. Have you ever talked to 95% of the strength coaches at national or college level? 99% of them give a bad name to the rest. If you think the Bulgarians or anyone else wins "due to a unique routine" then you must gain more experience. Nothing personal, but most of the strength & nutrition practices in organized sports leave much to be desired.Other factors are what get them their trophies. They do not gain because of their training but in spite of.
@RawFitChris I think the Bulgarians gained advantage by --- outworking everyone else, not working 1 day a week. And they ate preposterous amounts of food, whole food.
@DRu9 One day a wk? Who said that? In any case, GENETICS are king. Everything else is secondary. BUT I demonstrate what can be done when you have poor genetics, limited time, injuries, age, etc. OF COURSE I work my butt off when I train! I have rubbed elbows w/ famous bodybuilders, competitive locals, power lifters and athletes of all types and ages in the last three decades and they all say that they have seldom seen anyone work as hard in the gym as I do.
i think the mistake that the Paleos make is putting these Cavemen up as the Gold standard and be all end all , its kinda ridiculous and very intellectually immature if you stop and think of it.
the cavemen and our ' ancestors ' did what they had to do to survive, THATS IT, they are not people that we should worsipping as near Saints who had the answers to everything.
This is why this video is so revolutionary and incredible, because its helping to expose alot of the Myths in the diet and fitness world that have been with us for a long time, since the 1950s !
Most people on the subj of diet and sports Nutrition have been brainwashed by Parents, Friends, Relatives and the Media . and we live in a culture where VERY few people question anything anymore, regardless of each topic
We can ask the same questions in many other areas of Life . The reason is most people dont use common sense and Logic in ANY area of Life, diet being only one of them.
Why did we as a country in 08 elect a Man for President who had NO experience, background , qualifications, competence, solutions to anything ?
Because Most people act on programming , Not Logic
" we must strive to do just as the Cavemen did millions of years ago, that is our Model, if i learn tomorrow that they were eating Potato chips and drinking whiskey than thats what i will do, i trust the cavemen , i dont trust these Raw Vegan idiots, i put my trust in my ancient Ancestors, whatever they did, i will do "
Cavemen also cut each Others ears and scalps off with sharp tools in non sensical brutal tribal warfare, im not sure that would be intelligent or appropriate in todays world .
But perhaps it applies to todays Paleo stooge to try to emulate ?
GRUNT GRUNT me caveman, Me eat meat, Me like caveman, me paleo warrior grunt, Me tough guy eating meat, grunt
such an asinine intellectually immature way to live lol
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Again, its not rooted in intellect, but rather the recognition that our ancestors were much hardier than we are today. They were able to perform at a much higher level. Witness the workings at Stonehenge, The Stellae of Axum, or most amazingly the monolith stones at Ba'albe, and the construction of the Temple of Jupiter. In other words, "me work performing preposterous feats", eating lots of meat.
Our " ancestors " also didnt have to deal with the types of stressors that we have today , sure they had stress but it was a different nature of stress, and the quality of our air and water today is much worse and MOST people today do not get anywhere near enough sleep or Exercise as compared to years ago,
its a guy in new york named Mike Arnstein, His diet is mostly Fruit and at 35 yrs old he is one of the most elite high level endurance athletes in the country. He Ran a 100 mile Race and finished 14th out of thousands , and the NEXT day ran the NJ state 26 mile marathon and won it 1st place and said he wasnt even tired or sore !!!!
You Guys basically stole the Raw Vegan diet , adopted it fully and added meat and animal foods in, and then cloaked it in all this Cavemen nonsense to try to market it and make it sound legit , ' scientific' and authentic.
its nothing but a bunch of marketing bs and run around . i can see right through it all , the ONLY reason you're healthy is because of the raw vegan foods
what you need to Understand is that the Raw Vegan diet is NOT just about Strength, and for that matter YOUR " goal " shouldnt be just Strength alone as that is quite shallow and unbalanced on a biological level.
Rather your Goal should be Strength, combined with excellent Long Term disease free vibrant powerful HEALTH ! i think thats what Chris is trying to communicate to you
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT and on another note, I don't use roids, I'm full of vitality (and sh** sometimes, but mostly vitality). And for my line of work, I'd rather be a 260 lbs mass monster (for psychological effect). I'd be a 190 lbs triathlete when and if the need would ever arise (survival of the fittest calls for you to adapt or perish) , which I doubt should ever need to happen. But other than that, thanks for the input, take.
My friend said not only would he eat Doughnuts, cupcakes and drink soda all day long if he found out his ' ancestors ' did so, but that he would Never even question it on any Level.
i find that be constant, Most guys in Paleo are so mentally insecure and unsure of anything, that they hold up the Caveman as a angelic like being of supreme intelligence etc.
its a childish moronic way to view the world today
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Its not necessarily trying to live within the bounds of an ethical view of the caveman. It is a recognition that our bodies are the culmination of an ancestral record who DID NOT EAT RAW FRUIT VEGAN only. If you can't understand that there is no hope. Its like rejecting the influence of our active forebrains. Sure we have evolved to have active cortexes. Nonetheless, our forebrains still influence us.
Here is another Car Metaphor for you to think about.
You are trying to take me back to a time when the ONLY auto available was the Ford Model T of the 1920s. That car was sufficient for its time and did the job it was intended to do, but it was the ONLY car avaliable then and people had no choices except that.
Today, we have thousands of Autos to choose from and they are superior to the Model T, we live in a DIFFERENT world
Bottom line is that eating Meat today , when we as civilized people have access to a high quality world wide food supply , is Non sensical illogical and irrational . Its NOT needed in any capacity at any time anymore .
You want to take us all back to the stone age, whereas i want to bring you to the present and the Future .
i do sincerely think the Paleo diet is what i said it was, i just would like to seperate you as a person from the harsh things i said about the diet. You and i dont have to eat the same way, but we dont have to hate or dislike each Other because of it.
i tend to get a little intense in these types of discusssions, so please dont take any of it personal in any way. Thanks i enjoy the dialogue : )
Just curious, would you rather be a " jacked Muscle mass monster " at 260 lbs and be frequently sick with various colds, flus, low energy, aches pains , injuries, slow recovery from workouts , Pimples , foul body odors etc.
Or say 190 lbs. and experience what it really means to live in a disease free body bursting with excellent year round health and vitality ? You decide,,,, chose carefully. take care
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT well I'm 32 @ 275 lbs pounds right now, working my way down to 250lbs for the summer. I haven't had the flu for 15 years and I'm a carnivour, I don't get pimples and I find soap, water and a speed stick a good remedy for stinkiness. The reason why I was asking was coz an 18 yr old kid at work wanted to know if he could get to my size but he's thinking of going vegen, I just forwarded him to RawFitChris's website, just thought I'd ask for further detail.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Bro, don't lay your presumptions out. I eat elements of a macrobiotic diet, with much inclusion of meat; beef, chicken, pork, all organic, etc. I am infrequently sick, with a cold sniffle here and there, some seasonal affective symptoms, and thats about it. To suggest the raw vegan fruit diet will make one disease and illness free is unethical.
The way to REALLY test the Paleo diet and compare it to a raw vegan is for you to ELIMINATE all Raw fruits and vegs from your diet and Just subsist on your Meat and Animal foods.
and then compare to my results or to Chris in the video as we eat just the Fruits and Vegs. and what would happen to you ? Obviously you would fall apart quickly and be constantly sick etc.
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT A diet rooted in ancestry includes raw fruit and vegetables. It does. But it doesn't subsist of just these items. It includes seeds (grains), grasses, meat, nuts, seafood. Its not obvious I would fall apart quickly. Recently during blood tests administered by a life insurance company I fell within normal ranges in any number of tests. Science doesn't support your ideas, and it is obvious why you feel it necessary to reject this supposed mainstream thinking.
you are trying to prove that the MODEL T , based on the mere fact that it predates todays cars, is superior based on its age. Our " ancestors" drove Ford Model Ts therefore, defacto , we should do the same in 2011 just based on that fact alone.
but you forgot to mention our ancestors had no choice in the matter, we aint living in the 1920s or the caveman age. which renders your comparison irrelevant
i have no doubt every one of us if we could trace it back far enough, would find out we had very distant ' ancestors ' who ate each Others brains after chucking a sharp spear in someones head with tribal warfare in a cave to survive cold winters .
Does that mean that is Logical to apply that way of eating and life to today in 2011 ? lol i doubt it. which is why i label it " Paleo nonsense '
If we suddenly find out that the Cavemen and our ancient Ancestors ' secretly ' built a Rolls Royce Factory and were selling them to their fellow Cavemen, does this instantly mean that we ALL should be driving Rolls Royce Cars today , just because a bunch of Uneducated Idiots with long scruffy beards did so a million years ago ?
Paleo is like a brainwashed cult , its like a religion
i think if anyone objectively and independently read all our posts back and forth, theyd conclude you are intellectually getting crushed here on this.
So far the ONLY thing you have said to support your claims are
" me eat meat cause da caveman did so, grunt , Me study caveman and me Like da caveman, me will say its science to sound smart, grunt, Cavemen seem like nice men, They eat meat so it has to be good grunt
i like to refer to it as " Paleo nonsense " because all it is a Raw Vegan diet with Animal foods thrown in , cloaked around this entire Caveman bs crap
its an intellectually immature diet for those who havent arrived yet to have the logic and common sense to clearly precieve reality , out of their own insecurities
@TheTonganMammoth If you want to get jacked, eat the Paleo diet, and don't worry about this 'empty calories' nonsense. Humans have eaten this food for millions of years, meaning nature has selected it to be fit for consumption. Just make certain it is of the highest quality, meaning nothing factory farmed.
i dont have to add in Meat to my diet to be fit, strong and super Healthy, YET for you to experience the same level you HAVE to add in what i eat with Raw vegan or else you suffer badly, decay and degenerate .
Paleos eat the foods that Raw Vegans eat, but then give Credit to whatever health and fitness they experience to the meat. Its illogical, Absurd, Contrary to reality and false in application
@kratosSOZ marcus patrick....no offence....is NOT big. Lean and cut. But NOT big. NO WHERE near 260 lbs. If you thru an XL t-shirt over him u wouldn't notice he was built.
@TheTonganMammoth lol hes pretty ripped my friend, hes 190 at 6 ft. If you go to his channel, unless you already did.. squatting 1200lbs is pretty damn please.. i wouldnt mind being that size and have that strength
@kratosSOZ dude, I doubt very much that he squats 1200 lbs, the world record raw squat is 992 lbs so I don't think so. 190 lbs @ 6? I'm 275 lbs @ 6'2". I don't need his training regimen. I was just posing a question on behalf of a kid @ work who wanted to go raw but wondered if he could still be my size if he did it. I forwarded him to fitchris's site
No offense homey, but your musculature isn't very impressive. Strange this raw vegan diet isn't used by the greatest weightlifters in the world. Also, can't help but notice you use the lowest common denominator when describing the antagonist diet. It is possible to procure and eat healthy meat. Also, please point out an aboriginal people in the history of the world who ate only fruit. I know the answer to that last one.
@DRu9 I was never huge, even when eating the SAD diet 33 years ago. My poor genetic leverages put me at a disadvantage. If you go to my website however you wil see that I am much more muscular now from fruit than when this particular video here. Keep in mind also that I only choose one hour per week to train. Plus I never ever suffer from the cold or flu symptoms that others do.No offense but you miss the point.
Your comparison to the " aboriginal people ' is non applicable in the present tense as we are living in a totally different world than they did . We have access to a world wide food economy so that we can choose what specifically will give us excellent results.
The " aboriginal people ' had no such choices which makes it a totally invalid comparison . 2 different worlds and situations . Real life actual Results trump theory
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Your post is so nonsensical I don't even know the correct manner of replying without going bullshit. I understand we have access to a world wide food economy -- thats the problem. For eons my ancestry had no access to tropical fruit sugars. Then BAM, within a minute space of time it overwhelmed them. People, for nearly the entirety of their existence, ate a few things, and then in the last 50 years have done crazy with various diets, including raw fruit veganism.
i remember talking to a Paleo guy and everything out of his mouth was about his " ancestors " he told me that he believes all of us should live our lives the same way they did in every respect .
I asked him to be totally honest and i said to him , Would you eat cupcakes , doughnuts and drink soda all day long if it was discovered that your " ancestors " did so ? His response was yes and hed never ? it
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT You have little ability at this point to suggest anyone approaches the subject in an intellectually immature superficial nature. The fossil record suggests that humans for most of their existence did not eat cupcakes and soda and other modern foods. The point is moot. Study after study suggests otherwise, but always appears to include food items completely lacking in the raw fruit vegan diet. Raw fruit, though, was included.
Its an irrelevant Absurd comparison you're making because in that era of time you speak of, obviously people were FORCED to select food from their very Limited enviorment within a few miles.
They had very little selection power and ability to choose. We dont live in that world anymore, we can select foods from around the world in a global market , so your comparison is intellectually asinine and non appliable
the raw vegan diet IS the answer to our ecological and personal health problems as a society around the world and for the Earth.
that is now indisputable and irrefutable. Tree Crop Agriculture IS obviously superior in numerous different ways , i could fill a phone book listing them all benefits etc.
Killing animals for food is totally un necessary on every level and a total waste of time and energy .
Upon observing this movement closely and speaking with Many Paleos in the last few years , it seems to me that the Paleo guys treat this more like a brainwashed Religious cult, than a diet .
Where the caveman goes, they blindly follow without asking any questions , so my question to you is, being our Precious Cavemen and ancestors didnt have electricity, should we also abandon that ?
WHO CARES ? its meaningless , the more relevant thing to ask what is the best diet to eat today for the best health .
what you are saying is no different than someone saying that because their grandparents were Democrats and always voted that way, we should all do the same today .
your thinking is illogical, irrational and lacks common sense
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT One other thing, if you want empirical evidence of real life actual results trumping theory, take a look at some of the physiques and the fitness results of folks in crossfit who eat primarily Paleo. They crush shit, and can do a whole bunch of different stuff, including walking on hands, etc.
i know people who eat alot of Mcdonalds fast food and they can also " crush shit " and walk on their hands, so thats a very intellectually immature , superficial , lame and asinine way of approaching this subject .
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Funny coming from someone using the engineering in cars as an analogy for human anatomy. For most of history people did not eat McDonald's. If you would take a moment to study the diet of most of humanity, and their ancestry, you would see that none, not a one, ate raw fruit vegan diets. Ever.
the fact that ' no one' millions of years ago ate a raw vegan diet is irrelevant and meaningless, once more you are giving me your Paleo pie in the sky theory, im talking real world actual results , which is all that matters anyway.
You could tell me that our Ancestory had a secret factory with cavemen making Doritos and roast beef sandwhiches , WHO CARES ? its not what im interested in, im interested in RESULTS
i dont base my diet in 2011 around what a bunch of Morons running around making grunting noises chucking sharp spears through each Others skulls with long beards a million years ago
we are Not Living in their world anymore, in case you havent noticed , its time to move on and use Logic, intelligence and some common sense in all this again, The Truth is easy to understand
" if you take a moment you'll notice that NONE not a one ancestor ate a raw vegan diet ever '
SO WHAT ? irrelevant , Under your thinking you would say to George Washington back in 1776,
" Listen man, No one in human history has ever written some stupid ridiculous Constitution about individual freedom and a soverign nation with liberty and Justice for all, thats absurd, just keep doing what everyone else did before you '
i speak in very strong terms, but its Nothing personal against you, ive been at this game a LONG time and realize very few people will ever change the way they eat no matter what is said or presented.
and thats fine, its Life, We all make our own choices and have our own Biases and leanings. I enjoy the discussions, its fun and thought provoking . Dont take any of this Personal as its Not my intent
You can buy a Mustang GT and its super fast with explosive speed , but its cheaply made and made for 1 thing only, which is speed but it will burn out very fast and break down. or you can buy a Mercedes Benz which is Not quite as Fast but still fast enough with excellent long term durability and multi faceted performance in a variety of ways to excite you
What happens to this guy's 6,000 mile diet ( foods from everywhere ELSE in the world), when petroleum becomes too expensive to bring all of that vegan diet to his grocery shelves? Will he find all of his foods locally? I'm not sure vegans will survive well without this modern food distribution system.
@hapibeli Yes, shame that our modern food system is such crap. Personally, if I just wanted to survive it would be lazy-easy & oh sooo cheap to join in the salted/fatted/ sugared/spiced fun, sucking up nutritionless food designed to slowwww-digest and clog up the systems of it's stinking, poor-performance and ever-sick monetary slaves. Hey I know- I used to be one before I got a taste of GENUINE living as a result of genuine food eating.
I understand what you are saying, and to an extent obviously you are correct, a balanced Raw Vegan diet depends on a world wide food supply market in the winter months.
However, that doesnt change the FACT that this diet is absolutely the most effective diet in existence to supporting and promoting fantastic vibrant vital Health and athletic performance over the Long term , Those who desire it will achieve it
@RawVeganexperience thanks for the replies....not sure I'd have the willpower to do the fasting, I barely make it a couple hours without eating (almost entirely good, nutritious food). And yes, cancer patients rarely recover in hospitals because they aren't getting the nutrition they need
@RawVeganexperience But how about the claim the vegans have to take supplements like B12, because it does not occur in plants and only in meat , fish or dairy products.
If you feel like you can't conveniently /consistently do 100% raw vegan, will you still get most of the benefits if you could do 80-90%?
Also, wondering if you could explain so much fruit......some holistic/natural medical experts think sugar/fructose should be minimized because they help cancer cells thrive, as well as too much causing spikes of blood sugar and insulin.
@TSMPimpDaddyPain (I can only sum up here, as I have copious experience w this). Fruit is by far the best food for man (story unto itself). When in the cancer alarm stage, body needs a "specialized diet" not an optimal one. (I will stop here). Otherwise, fruit is best. It only causes problems if over 10% TOTAL fat is present in the diet (for fundamental biologic reasons;research it). And yes, you will benefit at 85%. Do not eat junk & only have cooked LAST. Obey macronutrient fundamentals.
@RawFitChris Fair enough, only 500 characters to explain unfortunately. There's just so much variation of opinion and personal experience even amongst the natural folks.
@Scriptmagician BINGO that's half the point! I set aside an hour per week for weight training.(The other part half is that I've been TOTALLY vegan (not even a pill, powder or "supplement" since 1985. AND to make it even more "unbelievable" (it is FUNDAMENTALS that few people follow these days unless they are "old shcool" die hards of genuine human nutrition and physiology), I have been 100% raw vegan since late 1999, and 90/5/5 fruit-based for the last few years! Wait til you see... visit site.
@RawFitChris : Thanks for that comment. I've got a question: What would you do if you had a yeast (candida) infection? I've got one and I've been trying to get rid of it and therefore I need to do an almost completely sugarfree diet (so no fruits either) and take a drug.
I would like to go on a raw food diet but then I would have to eat a lot of fruit which would feed the yeast.
@Scriptmagician There is absolutely no way this guy has made meaningful progress in any lift. To give you a counterpoint, I make certain I eat about .75-1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, mostly in the form of farm chicken and beef. From this protocol, I have gained about 125 pounds to my bench (up to 385), 200 pounds to my deadlift (up to 550), and about 200 pounds to my squat (up to 525) in about two years. I highly doubt this can be done on fruit vegan diet. Highly doubt.
If your only goal in Life is to get as strong as Possible to the complete exclusion of everything else in Life , than its your choice. Listening to you speak im often reminded of the various 400 plus pound bench press vids on here.
All of the guys on those vids are 1 dimensional and couldnt swim 1 lap in a pool without sinking and drowning, or running 1 mile without collapsing into exhaustion etc. Have you NO interest in true health ?
Strength is wonderful and a definite biological component of Health and fitness, no doubt . But this video is about much more than that, take off your Mental limitations , Open your mind and peer beneath the surface with more depth perception .
If the end all be all goal of your goal of ' fitness ' is Nothing but Strength, than you have missed out on one of Lifes greatest treasures . which is COMPREHENSIVE Health !
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT Comprehensive health involves the examination of what has been naturally selected to be fit for humans, and that involves the dietary of record that humans thrived on. In no way has a raw fruit vegan diet existed in any form in the entirety of human history. Now in this New Age, post war, I am to now believe that some machination has determined it to be superior? Mother nature weeps.
which obviously demonstrates indisputably that what keeps YOU healthy and fit on your " paleo diet " is the raw fruits and vegs you consume, NOt the Meat .
technically speaking to be honest , all a so called Paleo diet is a Raw Vegan diet base, with the addition of Meat. so actually YOU are eating my diet, but then adding Meat to it. MY diet keeps You health, yet you credit the meat , but its false
@zzap999 This is to clarify: Most "vegans" or "vegetarians" are 1) not educated on the fundamentals of nutrition (sorry but true), and 2) Driven by something other than health. I live and teach based on quantifiable evidence (the most important of which is my own ACTUAL experience over long periods of time, which are then duplicated by my clients, friends and family. Anything else is, I agree, "cultish" (The main cult & culprit of our insidious health crisis being the institution of medicine).
@RawVeganexperience I've got to agree here... doctors are useless when it comes to nutrition.
It's sad, but medical school programs focus approximately 2 weeks on nutrition. And it's so very, very important.
Most nutritionists and dietitians are also clueless, considering they're licensing bodies are controlled by big-food companies, the agricultural dept's of governments, etc.
RHN's (Reg'd Holistic Nutritionists) are much better, though less-widely consulted and doctors tend to shun them...
@RawVeganexperience I apologize, I can see how my comment could be taken out of context. The 99% I was referring to (yes, an exaggeration) were 99% of hardgainers, not regular folk.
I've seen a lot of hard-gainers in my time who struggle like mad to build muscle with improper training, inadequate nutrition, etc. Then there are genetic freaks that build muscle ridiculously easily. I have 16.5" biceps without curling, doing body-weight lifts, or anything... (And nope, not fat.) .continued...
@AlbertaBeefy for those hard-gainers, eating vegan will likely (in my experience, having spent years in a gym myself) not make it easy to build muscle, due to inadequate protein intake.
Then again, many people have problems figuring out proper macronutrient intake, regardless of the diet they follow...
I would think though, that for a hard-gainer trying a vegan lifestyle, they would need some serious nutritional consultation to get where they want, muscle-wise.
@AlbertaBeefy this would be me. I've been eating balanced and healthy, a lot of organic and raw for a while now. The only reason I've been hesitant to try any of this vegetarian/vegan stuff is worries of losing weight and not being able to build muscle. I've been lifting for 6-7 years and still weigh 160 pounds, and I eat like a horse. Not sure what else to do.
Yep, go to Chris' website, and you will see definitively the extent to which he knows very little, pontificates endlessly, and shows his hypocrisy. This man, after all, accuses industry of profiting from ignorance, but yet he does just that -- with tie-ins to his wellness center. The notion that unwashed garden/organic vegetables and fruits provide adequate amounts of B12 is DANGEROUS. Consult your doctor, check out mayo clinic, for ex., and be wary of this quack.
@RPowers45 You are a gentleman and a scholar. I could just delete you but I am amused by your ignorance and A Posteriori "experience". That you abide by the web advice you mention is testimony to popular brainwashing. Some day when you actually DO SOMETHING REAL and SEE AND FEEL for yourself you will change your tune. Until then I leave your comment up, as I continue my confident approach into reality, and I mean you no harm; I am just saddened by your unfortunate & ignorant comment.
@RawFitChris I'm so glad you're amused - after all it won't reach your client base you PROFIT from. An example of your self-enlightened 'a priori' knowledge: 99% of "cold and flu" symptoms are really food poisoning, plain and simple. Specifically, they are the result of an overload toxic reaction. Your body is working hard to eliminate the wrong food you put in" -- DANGEROUS. You promise people through insinuation they will no longer get sick! How dare you?!
@RPowers45 Absoltely! NO LONGER SUFFER FROM COLDS OR FLU SYMPTOMS. Absolutely! What? You suffer from these? Of course you do on your "paleo" diet. I do not. Neither do my clients, friends & family that eat the best way. I sincerely wish you would eat properly long enough to reap the same benefits. I can not believe that I once suffered! It is so easy to eliminate!!!!!! (Not if one gets their calories from meat, dairy and grains however, but that is obvious).
@RawFitChris Oh no I've already lost the 100k challenge, based on another subjective measurement! Oh dear the paleo guy has slightly more intense body odor. We the "jury" declare Fit Chris the winner! DANGEROUS. The idea you espouse a diet guaranteeing the elimination of viral infection should qualify you for quackwatch. In fact, I think I'll contact them put you right next to Macrobiotics.
How dare you accuse someone of 'a posteriori' experience -- your website is full of tidbits of how your experience led you to this perfected nonsense. Empirical knowledge is the basis of science, not your quackology methods. Do something real? When I recovered from my veganism (macrobiotics), I improved my performance to the point where is just recently pulled 525 from the floor, raw, with a little chalk on my hands. Your taunts don't phase me. Ignorant people following your nonsense does.
@RPowers45 You miss the entire point, it is unfortunate, since you argue points that I am not interested in, are moot, or I have never stated, yet you seem to desire a fight. I have no interest, and honestly, do not even understand what you are getting at. I suggest you review my message, mission, testimonials, etc again. Or not. Suit yourself. Just keep in mind that my website is only 5% complete. You "aint seen nuthin' yet! In other words, I have tons of terrific "aces" coming soon! WOW!
@thund3rpantiez If you go to my website TheFirstSupper and click "Myths And More" you will see the most comprehensive answer to your important question.
OK, I've GOT to respond to this. EVERYONE involved in fitness knows that some people are genetically-predisposed to build and/or maintain muscle-mass much easier than others.
There are others who, going vegan or vegetarian raw-food/plant-based diet will NEVER build a pound of muscle. Period.
Your genetic gift doesn't mean others can do the same, period. 99% of them simply cannot.
@AlbertaBeefy I know differently. Sure if I were 22 and just doing this for a month lol... but I am 52 and I have a brick and mortar training facility as part of my food and wellness center here in Glen Cove. After 33 years of training and coaching and teaching and observing all ages, body types and genders, I can safely say that it works for EVERYONE.. In fact I never wanted to be vegan, or raw, or even wanted to save wales or the planet. My goal was to eliminate all disease symptoms, cont...
@RawFitChris ... cont... and superior athletic performance. The fact that I was always a hard gainer just made the pot "sweeter" as this diet builds pure muscle the best way. Fast as hell recuperation, and if you get enough calories (what athlete or lifter wouldn't agree) then you will be amazed. It does not get any better than this. Ps- wait til you see my new videos!
Best analogy: You can fill a box w/ gold. Or garbage. Building muscle is similar. Grains, animal products, cooked food...etc.are all obvious-effect-producing junk compared to fruit and dark leafy greens. Gold increases in value, like health on good fuel; unlike garbage "adaptable fuel sources" that only decrease your health over time, as well as produce immediate negative side effects. It is easy to experience if you just do it the best way, AND long enough to know what you're talking about...
@RawFitChris Yup, no effects on the raw vegan fruit diet. No effect whatsoever. The fitness inherent in millions of years pales next to the enlightened interests of the raw vegan.
@RPowers45@RPowers45 I just know what works best now. For me, my family, my friends, and my clients in my established wellness and fitness center. I have been doing this for a "few" years you know LOL! over three decades with hundreds of people sharing my identical evolving diet improvement/ fitness efficiency). I will continue living A PRIORI instead of A Postiori, thank you. No need to argue. This is my last communication with you. Sorry- better things to do. Like enjoy success not argue it.
A true mesomorph can have good muscle with vegan diet. But there are lots of fakers on youtube claiming to be build/buff on vegan diets and most of it is bullshit. Sorry to say that. I've been vegan and worked out and had superior gain while eating meat. Yes, my vegan diet was very balanced with a wide range of protein sources, iron, calcium, etc.
@u235u235u235 "Superior" gain is only "more" size, not healthy cells. I too had more "size" eating a poor diet of empty toxic calories including animal products, but I had breath & body odor, occasional pimples, cold, flu once in a while, congestion, aches, coughs, occasional stomach upset, slow healing of cuts & bruises. Overall fatigue. With this diet however it is like having a new factory fresh body, performance, strength, health, libido & mental clarity. It's night & day, no contest.
@RPowers45 Thank you for your intelligent comment. But I think you have me confused with someone who actually gets your jokes. (Not only have I heard comments such as yours 30 years ago, I am no longer even slightly amused. but thanks for trying. It is your toxic blood lol- I know! I too used to be like you. It's just not time for you yet. Maybe in the "next life" LOL!!!? ) (Is that the way those "uneducated, innexperienced "vee-gans" talk? I wouldn't know. i just nod and enjoy superior health!
@RawFitChris I agree with most of what you are saying. I never had one headache on a strict vegan diet and any sickness was extremely mild and short lived. But I got hurt more at the gym on a vegan diet and recovery didn't go as well. Overall, yes, I agree a balanced vegan diet is better for an adult (not for infants/children/teenagers though - risk of not getting the right nutrients too high). I appreciate your insight and sharing your experience.
@u235u235u235 Bullseye! I too used to get injured due to my recovery being so much greater and my strength increasing faster than before, that I was able to keep increasing the weights at such a rapid rate that it did not give my tendons enough time to adapt. After I adjusted the training, all was well. I just wish I was eating this way when I started weight lifting 35 years ago!!
@RawFitChris LOL - you are such a self-important hack it's unbelievable. I'm so glad that you think you've achieved some fitness nirvana, and your clinic, taking advantage of people's ignorance, works for you. That's great -- the American way. What is sad, though, is that some no nothing fool with actually think anything you have to say has a shred of science involved. But keep on keeping on against all those 'mainstream' doctors, nutritionists.
Awesome!

MrJaketthomas 4 weeks ago
@MrJaketthomas I TOP dead-lifted 400. In case you did not know, a "top dead-lift" is a pull from pins set at knee height. Not bad for a person with very long limbs and poor lower back (I am NOT designed at all for lifting weights) And the video HERE does not do me justice you are right. Check out my website for better pics.Ironically I never train my arms directly. PS I intend to publish lots more next year. Since THIS video I have gained 20 pounds, mostly my back shoulders, thighs & trapezius.
RawFitChris 4 weeks ago
@RawFitChris Top deadlifts will definitely increase your poundages, but with your frame and size, I still don't believe you even top deadlifted 400. I'm not saying this to be an asshole. I respect your level of health and energy. I just don't think someone should market themselves as a bodybuilder when they don't look the part. I've seen 150 lb bean poles doing only bodyweight exercises marketing themselves as corny "Raw Muscle Boy" monickers. If u can't bench over 300, ur not a "bodybuilder".
MrJaketthomas 4 weeks ago
@MrJaketthomas WEll I am not saying that you are a half-hole but I am not a bodybuilder nor did I ever call myself that. You miss the point entirely. I only demonstrated the what would happen on a 100% raw vegan diet for ten years with only an hour of exercise per week. Nothing more nothing less. When I train for size by feeding myself many extra calories JUST FROM FRUIT, I gain 25 more pounds But then conservation is basic law.
RawFitChris 4 weeks ago 4
@MrJaketthomas
' if you cant bench over 300 than you're not a body builder '
No offense but who the Blank are YOU to make this specific determination ????
AnatomicalALIGNMENT 3 weeks ago
@MrJaketthomas
AnatomicalALIGNMENT 3 weeks ago
@MrJaketthomas
To get a much deeper understanding , read all Chris comments from the beginning on this video
AnatomicalALIGNMENT 3 weeks ago
@MrJaketthomas

I was raw vegan for 2.5 years and after initial healing, found I couldn't last on it - thinking it had to do with too much gourmet, then too much fruit, and not enough greens...
ameliabedelia99 1 month ago
@ameliabedelia99 Lets just say that I consume fresh juices, fruit smoothies, and fruit itself for my carb calories and protein. Additional protein and nutrition from lots of dark greens, juiced or smoothies. And some other raw whole foods. No snacks powders or gimmicks. I consume a lot of calories so one must think EFFICIENCY.

RawFitChris 1 month ago
@RawFitChris i agree with chris. i used to consume massive amounts of protein and animal products and got t b 170lbs at 5'9. then for health reasons switched to raw diet with high fruit. the energy is incredible compared to cooked food and shit.. however i may not be as big, but i am a lot leaner, have more endurance, happier, and energy levels are insane. your whole life changes basically.. emotionally, physically and mentally. im 18 by the way
kratosSOZ 1 month ago
@kratosSOZ Great that you discovered this and you are 18.It would be interesting to see what would happen if you underwent a 4-6 month training cycle on increasing your calories from fruit, making sure to get an average of at least 3000; perhaps even 3400 as you got into your heavy poundages, and approached 165-170 bodyweight. You are blessed with good leverages if you are 5'9. Who knows what your potential would be eating high fruit!

TheTonganMammoth 1 month ago
@TheTonganMammoth If you are short stature, thick joints, and have no chronic health problems or structural limitations then you can be as big and strong as you have the willpower to continue to lift heavier and heavier. You can further increase size by eating empty calories, and slow-to-assimilate foods such as chicken, beef, fish, eggs, dairy, refined carbs, etc. "Nitrogen retention" means you will smell pretty bad too. Then you can take steroids to really swell up. Go for it. Enjoy...
RawFitChris 1 month ago
@RawFitChris How'd steroids get in there? Anyways, I'm asking if I can get to 260 lbs using weights and sticking to your diet? Yes or No? And without the sarcasm this time...lol.
TheTonganMammoth 1 month ago
@TheTonganMammoth No disrespect, Tongan. But I thought I answered your question more than adequately. I was not being sarcastic at all.
RawFitChris 1 month ago
@TheTonganMammoth I've found that this diet (done in an educated informed manner) significatnly increases recuperation. Strength (& corresponding hypertrophy) are vastly improved compared to any other diet. Everything else equal. The important health benefits (I say BASICS) that few people, muscle builders or not will experience, are more than most people can even imagine, since they "sustain" on a grain based, cooked, and/or animal based diet. No contest.
RawFitChris 1 month ago
@RawFitChris Okay then, so how come the great weightlifting squads in the world, and including the greatest team ever, the Bulgarians under Abadjiev, don't eat raw fruit diets?
DRu9 1 month ago
@DRu9 Some day. Hopefully. And they will benefit. Have you ever talked to 95% of the strength coaches at national or college level? 99% of them give a bad name to the rest. If you think the Bulgarians or anyone else wins "due to a unique routine" then you must gain more experience. Nothing personal, but most of the strength & nutrition practices in organized sports leave much to be desired.Other factors are what get them their trophies. They do not gain because of their training but in spite of.
RawFitChris 1 month ago
@RawFitChris I think the Bulgarians gained advantage by --- outworking everyone else, not working 1 day a week. And they ate preposterous amounts of food, whole food.

But other than that, thanks for the input, take.

i find that be constant, Most guys in Paleo are so mentally insecure and unsure of anything, that they hold up the Caveman as a angelic like being of supreme intelligence etc.
its a childish moronic way to view the world today

DRu9 1 month ago
@DRu9
AnatomicalALIGNMENT 1 month ago
@AnatomicalALIGNMENT A diet rooted in ancestry includes raw fruit and vegetables. It does. But it doesn't subsist of just these items. It includes seeds (grains), grasses, meat, nuts, seafood. Its not obvious I would fall apart quickly. Recently during blood tests administered by a life insurance company I fell within normal ranges in any number of tests. Science doesn't support your ideas, and it is obvious why you feel it necessary to reject this supposed mainstream thinking.

For eons my ancestry had no access to tropical fruit sugars. kmjansen83 2 months ago
TSMPimpDaddyPain 2 months ago
@TSMPimpDaddyPain (I can only sum up here, as I have copious experience w this). Fruit is by far the best food for man (story unto itself). When in the cancer alarm stage, body needs a "specialized diet" not an optimal one. (I will stop here). Otherwise, fruit is best. It only causes problems if over 10% TOTAL fat is present in the diet (for fundamental biologic reasons;research it). And yes, you will benefit at 85%. Do not eat junk & only have cooked LAST. Obey macronutrient fundamentals.

Scriptmagician 2 months ago
@Scriptmagician There is absolutely no way this guy has made meaningful progress in any lift. To give you a counterpoint, I make certain I eat about .75-1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, mostly in the form of farm chicken and beef. From this protocol, I have gained about 125 pounds to my bench (up to 385), 200 pounds to my deadlift (up to 550), and about 200 pounds to my squat (up to 525) in about two years. I highly doubt this can be done on fruit vegan diet. Highly doubt.

RawFitChris 2 months ago
@RawVeganexperience I've got to agree here... doctors are useless when it comes to nutrition.
It's sad, but medical school programs focus approximately 2 weeks on nutrition. And it's so very, very important.
Most nutritionists and dietitians are also clueless, considering they're licensing bodies are controlled by big-food companies, the agricultural dept's of governments, etc.
RHN's (Reg'd Holistic Nutritionists) are much better, though less-widely consulted and doctors tend to shun them...
AlbertaBeefy 2 months ago
@RawVeganexperience I apologize, I can see how my comment could be taken out of context. The 99% I was referring to (yes, an exaggeration) were 99% of hardgainers, not regular folk.
I've seen a lot of hard-gainers in my time who struggle like mad to build muscle with improper training, inadequate nutrition, etc. Then there are genetic freaks that build muscle ridiculously easily. I have 16.5" biceps without curling, doing body-weight lifts, or anything... (And nope, not fat.) .continued...
AlbertaBeefy 2 months ago
@AlbertaBeefy for those hard-gainers, eating vegan will likely (in my experience, having spent years in a gym myself) not make it easy to build muscle, due to inadequate protein intake.
Then again, many people have problems figuring out proper macronutrient intake, regardless of the diet they follow...
I would think though, that for a hard-gainer trying a vegan lifestyle, they would need some serious nutritional consultation to get where they want, muscle-wise.
AlbertaBeefy 2 months ago

@RPowers45 @RPowers45 I just know what works best now.

@RawFitChris When you poop do you hear a choir of angels harking? When you pee on a plant does it immediately bloom?
