With all due Respect, he could make it a little bigger!! It looked like he barely fit his head in the cockpit. I can't believe he was able to fly in that thing. Although i know these things are carefully calculated, i still think he exagerated as far as the size is comcerned - too small - but Congratulations really!!!

This is NOT a ultralight (stall at 72km/h , ultralight must less or equal 65km/h!)

To fly with this aircraft you need a PPL license (same as for a VLA)

As ultralight, Michel Colomban take a new aircraft, the Luciole:

wood body , carbon spares, 97kg empty weight, 200kg max take off (pilot must not be fat!), with a modified 26hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine=170km/h with 5.5L/hour and 200km/h max level speed, stall at 65km/h.

Otherwise, another nice aircraft; the SD-1 minisport (plan,kit or ready to fly),a bit less performing, but nice looking and more load :empty 120, take off 240kg with same engine as the Luciole

Can be legal in the USA but as VLA, not as ultralight because stall speed is too high (in France it's the same thing: it's a CNRA aircraft = VLA... but one of them was modified with bigger wings to fit the french ultralight rules, but the designer will not another because the aircraft is too difficult to fly from a rookie...

Its a Cri-Cri. Not a ultralight in the US(too fast and too high a stall speed!), but is a U/L in Franch b/c their U/L is the same as the US LSA class. Yes, it really flies(good even!) and can do acrobatics too.
