  • Another reason to make the 4th of July my favorite holiday! God Bless them all. 5 stars

  • i reenlisted in this ceremony! it was amazing!

  • God bless you!!!! I wish I could experience that feeling.

  • The military only re-inlists when their current enllistment is up. That is usually every 2-4 years. This appears to be an Army re-inlistment only. Marines have different uniforms. Also this is an all volunteer military and most go back to Iraq for several tours. I am very proud of these men and women for their commitment.

  • So am I. The least they deserved was an attaboy from back home.

  • I emailed several news networks and asked them to tell my why I didn't learn of this from any of them. I am outraged. This year makes 35 years of voluntary service in the military. The media is criminal and is in need of total reform.

  • they have a biased network for folks like yourself.. its called Fox News. they tell you everything you want to hear

  • You are doggone right I'm biased. My sister is over there!!!!

  • a lot of people have family and friends there.. no reason to expect the media to paint a rosey picture of what it is going on there. its a failed unwinable war. the media should show this clip just like they should show the banned footage of the caskets returning. young kids dieing because of bush's ignorance and greed

  • Who are you, Jane Fonda?

  • my daughter served and i don't expect a "rosy" picture just the truth!

  • 1200?? that's it? Well there is estimated to be about 150k troops there... so 1200 is less than 1%. So the real story is 99% want the hell out of there.

what exactly are they risking their lives for? protecting the oil fields so Iraq can sell to China and Haliburton has an excuse to steal another billion

  • No for Israel. Soon they also will want us to go after Iran, Syria, etc.

How dare they call on G-d for such a unholy contract.

Dear G-d set them free; it's time before more are sacrificed. Freedom doesn't require the dying and murder of others.

  • the other 99% are just low lifes who choose the Army to pay for school, get out of going to jail, to pay child support, they don't have the appearance for a real job, etc. believe me. i'm the 1% that reenlisted that day.. why? because I love my country and will spend the rest of my life serving...

  • Are non-Christians welcome in the military these days? The mix of the military and God is a bit scary and doesn't send a good message.

  • kenner116, just let the adults do what they do. You wouldn't be qualified to serve.

Continue on mooching off your parents and playing with your iPhone.

  • If having a certain religious faith is required to serve, then there is a problem. They have sworn to protect the Constitution of the United States, and by promoting one religion they have failed in that duty. They may as well have burned the flag.

  • kenner116, you won't be asking the faith of the soldier, policeman, firefighter, etc.. that saves your life when you are in danger.

You'll simply be crying like a baby, begging them to take care of you like all you anti-US military libs do.

Think about that while your toking up and playing your next PS3 game.

Like I said, go back to your MSNBC/CNN hate-America talking points and let the adults do what they do.

  • What makes you feel that non-Christians might not be welcomed? I'll paypal you ten dollars if you can find any reference to Jesus anywhere in this video.

  • I'll have to add that the offer is void if you claim it's in a secret code that only you can understand.

  • WIN!

  • If they had bowed to Mecca but never mentioned Allah, I'd have a similar feeling.

  • This country was not founded upon Islamic principles, but on Judeo-Christian principles. That is fact.

  • The Constitution is the supreme law of the United States, not the Bible.

  • How unbelievably ignorant are you? You think that everyone who serves in the military claims to be a follower of Christ? Where does it say there is such a limitation put on people.

    Unbelievable.

  • Great Thanks to these Heroes!

    You make the USA Proud!

  • God bless all of our men and women in the military! For those of us who cannot serve, we want you to know we are very proud of you!

  • 1285 men and women who are head and shoulders above the first two posters here. Not a high bar, but they clear it easily.

And yeah. Dog and Pony show. Hey, you 1285 people: tie up your lives for another four years for a photo op. Sure, that's what happened...

  • Great to see this.

  • I am so proud of everyone of them. To be able to re enlist, whatever their reasons are, they are still sacificing so we do not feel fear in our country. Who knows if we should be in war or not, Thats NOT the point, the point is these are our countrys military that gives so much for our country. And since these men and women do not make the decisions of where they go and for how long, we should be even more proud of them!

  • Yep. Choosing to kill other people without deciding the justness of your actions is a really noble thing.

  • thisis, You are living right now under the protection of someone willing to kill and risk their own life. If you don't want a police force, national guard, military, etc.., then go live like a hermit and stop being a hypocrit by enjoying the security of what others give you.

While your at it, don't call 911 when you or your family is in danger.

  • Can you address an issue raised by someone else?

  • For those of us who know what a "Dog and Pony Show" is, I need say no more. For those of you who have no idea of what it's like to serve in the military, just listen and please do not respond. For those of you who are new to the military, take my advice for what it's worth to you. I have 21 years and am still serving. The Pentagon involuntarily extended 2,200 marines to stay in Afghanistan, after promising them to go home. Are we a voluntary military? Through coercion and misguidance, yes.

  • I know what a dog and pony show is of course. Sorry you are so disillusioned. 21 years is a long time. You can't afford to leave now, but it won't be too much longer.

  • It's not always about money, God Bless, Hoorah!!!!!

  • It's not a bad deal if you reup in country as your bonus is tax free, plus, of course, a year of untaxed and unspent combat pay means you come home with a nice stash. They're not suckers at all.

  • You are so right. Killing people and having people try to kill you for do so is a great deal.

  • God bless them one and all.

  • Why would God bless them?

  • I salute anybody who volunteers in service of our nation.

Almighty God, let thy protection be upon all those who are in the service of our country; guard them from all harm and danger of body and soul; sustain and comfort those as home, especially in their hours of loneliness, anxiety, and sorrow; prepare the dying for death and the living for your service; give success to our arms on land and sea and in the air; and grant unto us and all nations a speedy, just and lasting peace. Amen.

  • You wouldn't have the slightest clue about what you are talking about, so kindly keep your opinions to yourself.

  • Tell it to their face Hot shot.

  • Would it make a difference if he did? You won't go within 20 feet of a soldier or a veteran. And you certainly wouldn't have the testicular fortitude to tell them to their face that they're conscienceless killers and suckers.

The sad part is that these men and women are willing to die for you to have the right to insult them. And because they are in uniform, they would likely attempt to reason with you, rather than see if your arms bend the wrong way.

    But I feed the troll...

  • Yes, it would make a difference if you arranged such a meeting. I do wonder how you know so much about me.

I'm curious about what you have to say in response to this...

Eugene Debs was imprisoned for speaking out against World War I. I have spoken out against the U.S. occupation of Iraq and have not been imprisoned even though my actions have been noticed by those in law enforcement. What did the soldiers who supposedly ensure my right to free speech do to create this change?

  • prevent you from being born under the rule of fascist Germany? allow for the evolution of laws by defending our nation?

  • Your first response has nothing to do with the question.

The second is better, but still weak. What did the soldiers do to change this situation?

  • Tell me where you live and I'll see if I can arrange a visit from some friends of mine.

  • Central Park works nice for me.

  • People like you are not worthy to shine these peoples' boots. Goodbye.

  • Thank you for the thoughtful response.
