  • young dawkins make me wet :3

  • I'm a handsome biologist too please crush on me. :p

  • HE IS GREAT.

  • Absolute genius.

  • Young Dawkins was hot.

  • lol at how many people fancy dawkins (i'm one of them btw0

  • I've got a crush on dawkins~

  • I've got a crush on dawkins~

  • @lazzielazzie Me, too....sigh...

  • I watched this just so I could look at Dawkins.

  • young rd iz dreamy

  • @MochizMuM agreed!

  • So here's your problem dawkins, given how simple it is to make an eye, it took man how many years to build a video camera that's pathetic in comparison to the eye. Not only that, but why are we continually repairing our bodies if evolution tells us that we're getting more advanced? Why are we only observing decay in bodies and not advancement?

  • @jonathonbyrd1 What point are you trying to make with your first sentence? And for your second, who says humans are only decaying?

Search for Are We Still Evolving here on youtube.

  • @jonathonbyrd1 Evolution is about the survival of genes, not about the survival of individuals. Resources that an organism uses to maintain its body are resources that can't be invested in activities that lead to reproduction. So a longer lifetime does not always translate into more copies of that individual's genes making their way into the next generation.

  • @jonathonbyrd1 There is evolutionary purposes for dying.. You'd have to read, which most creationists will never do. Reproduction means new evolution, means evading parasites and pathogens from genetic recombination, means stronger selection for better units, means new evolutions at birth. What does a human making a camera, or a spear or an aeroplane have the fuck to do with evolution of an eye or wings or talons? And it isn't 'simple'. It's natural selection and mutation over LONG TIMES.

  • That 5% vision is pretty damn claustrophobic.

  • where can i get a cool evolution computer program like that?

  • @shnosmas I've been looking for one too. We'll have to buy Spore.

  • 4:30 there are 2 stick insects and 7 ninjas in that bush

  • @B0Boman Oh good eye!

    But you missed the 8th!

    XD

  • Why are genes more like a recipe than a blueprint? I'm a bit confused. O_O

  • @KarBytes I recommend you to watch the next part. And btw: As he said: In a blueprint seperate parts of the blueprint directly resemble parts of the model based on the blueprint whereas a recipe will only makes sense if you take all the ingredients and follow all the instructions. A half of a cake's blueprint shows a half cake but you'll not get a half cake when you just leave out half of the ingredients (say the butter and the eggs) ....

  • @KarBytes If genes were a blueprint, you would be an exact copy of your father, like a clone.

  • He looks like Tom Cruise

  • This is ridiculous. I'm an atheist and I know this theory is false. Wait, it doesn't predict anything so it's not even a theory. This is not supported by physical evidence. This is just circular logic. I could counter this video by stating the ID explanation. But even that isn't real scientific evidence. Mr Dawkins is a fool for even considering this as a valid argument.

  • @heavymetaldeath4life Congratulations! You are proof that atheism does not make you intelligent.

  • @TheOmegajuice Atheism has nothing to do with being intelligent. Top scientists in the world believe in a Creator, are they unintelligent?

  • @heavymetaldeath4life No, you have somehow managed to completely invert what I was saying. I wasn't calling Christians idiots, I was calling you an idiot.

I may be prepared to call all young earth creationists stupid (at least in a specified field)

  • @TheOmegajuice Name calling is the easy way out for people unable to debate. I'm an atheist, and I know for a fact that we cannot prove God doesn't exist. Theists cannot prove God exists so we're in the middle. Have you even considered the ID explanation before coming to this video? Mr Dawkins cannot prove this 'theory' of his, because it doesn't predict anything. This is not real science, neither is ID.

So I suggest you listen to both sides before coming to a conclusion.

  • @heavymetaldeath4life What ID explanation. The only 'explanation' it ever asserts is that it wasn't by evolution. They don't ever explain how it did happen. Goddunit (or similar) isn't an explanation at all because it provides no new understanding it just avoids explanation and gives up trying to understand it.

You have no idea how science operates and you are an idiot. I will continue to call you an idiot whilst you say things that are idiotic

  • @TheOmegajuice You're asking what ID explanation? Do a quick search before you comment on it. The evolutionist will claim that the presence of many individual species proves evolution. This shallow statement is devoid of reason, logic and scientific proof. Evolutionists line up pictures of similar looking species and claim they evolved one to another. Humans are a great example. There are hundreds of species of extinct monkeys and apes. Petrified skulls and bones exist from these creatures....

  • @TheOmegajuice Evolutionists line up the most promising choices to present a gradual progression from monkey to modern man. They simply fill in the big gaps with make-believe creatures to fit the picture. This procedure can be done with humans only because there are many extinct monkey and ape species. They never do this with giraffes and elephants. These pictures are placed in all evolutionists' text books to teach kids this nonsense.

  • @heavymetaldeath4life Sorry are you saying that evolution implies that giraffes have transitioned into elephants?

  • @TheOmegajuice No, I meant giraffes and elephants or any other species is not thoroughly explained through evolution. Now who's the idiot?

  • @heavymetaldeath4life By the way the idiot is still you. You haven't even presented a coherent criticism yet.

What would 'thoroughly explaining' a species involve apart from giving reasons why it is distinct from other species and explaining how it interplays with its environment and how environmental pressures have caused it to be XYZ.

What else do we need to do? Explain what it's favourite ice cream is?! (evolution may even be able to predict that for some animals)

  • @heavymetaldeath4life Also by the way what 'make-believe' creatures have been made in the picture of human evolution?

  • I think its fun that he's showing us the new software line-up for the Wii

  • Damn, Dawkins is a looker!

  • 3:50 I absolutely love that example, I've been asked how the eye could be made using evolution and I said the most basic reasons could be that there were photo-sensitive cells at the very beginning that allowed animals to know what time of day it was (knowing what other animals are awake and asleep) and get a very faint idea of their surroundings, a vague silhouette of something that blocks light from the sun. Even such small benefits are enough to justify keeping that ability.

  • Your channel is very cool. I'm enjoying it. Although, I wish you wouldn't use the music from the movie trailer of I Am Legend. Very scary. Very creepy.

  • epitome of sex

  • Dawkins is just awsome ^.^

  • Aloha from Kauai. Mahalo for the videos.

  • In this segment, RD demonstrates one way that camouflage could have evolved for stick insects, assuming birds are not evolving but insects are. Another way it could have happened is through a biological arms race of simultaneous evolution: Avian eyes are initially weaker, making camouflage less important. Then gradually, avian predator eyes get better so the insect camouflage must get better. This would allow for a slower, steadier evolution of camouflage.

  • @drcatid The bird may not need to evolve better eyes, but a different diet maybe, or different hunting behavior. I would think their dinosaur ancestors had good eyes to get them started. Something must find them just fine or they'd be everywhere. Maybe they breed slow, avoiding crowding or becoming a food source.

  • absolutely splendid

  • I'd like to have that computer program he uses at the end!

  • @rodalbbutgar321

There is a fun little evolution model/game called 'Primordial Life' out there. Google it.

Starts with a random population which compete for territory, mutate, and evolve. You can even link up to other computers on the net.

You can play god a little by feeding or killing the creatures of your choice.

Another one a liitle more like Richard's program is called 'Framsticks' .

    Cheers!

  • if weren't an atheist i'd think dawkins was god

  • Heheheh. Amen.

  • @GESTALT187 praise dawkins, lol

  • Love it

  • Sir your explanation goes step by step right till the end. this is awesome.

  • Bodacious!

  • Mmhmm.

  • Amazing!
