  • Remember the '80s when Japan was supposed to pass us by 2000 from their growth for a few years being thrown out of proportion? This video sure made me remember it. You can't pass a country in G.D.P. if your main source of income IS that country. All growth that China has seen is the easy kind, catching up if you will. They've yet to invent something this century, it's already been done. Once they reach the point where there's nothing left to copy, they'll collapse under the weight of govt.

  • @TumisHumis They are also communist. Their political system is messed up. Rule of law whenever they feel like it. They bend the rules to steal from foreign companies. No way to develop a country. Oh and not to mention that they don't really serve the people just look at the riots and demonstrations.

  • @TumisHumis dude they have a billion people its completly normal they gonna surpass you

  • Asia Rocks \m/ \m/

    Europe,USA Sucks _I_

  • what exactly is Asia?

  • @fcgfgcfg Well it could be best described with the words of Pythagoras, "Numbers Rule the Universe." In logic it could mean, "Asia Rules the Universe."

  • Babies cause economic growth. China's one child policy will kill China's economy.

  • @mbevks There's more then enough Chinese in this world.

  • @mbevks Their heavy handed population policy is going to cost them no doubt. Thanks to Mao's non policy in population.

  • USA : 4.5% population (-1% before XIXsiecle)

West Europe (without ex urss) : 5.5% population (8% before XIXsiecle)

Asian : 60% population (65% before XIX siecle)

Okay Okay Asian had a great GDP before industrial air (GDP didn't exist but okay )

But Asian had never ruled West Europe in progress (china better but not rules)

  • @ayoliyola

    heard of Mongolian Empire?

China was never anyone's colony either.

  • yea europe we run it

  • @sodisrespectfulify soon we asians will run it.

  • Gryffindor - 38.4%

    Slytherin - 26.3%

    Ravenclaw - 21.7%

    Hufflepuff - 13.6%

  • @ratanegrahjk harry potter ? O.O LOL

  • lets hope, the west wont interfere in the development of china, India, and other major Asian countries. !!

  • @deepakjindal070 asian need to learn and cooperate better to protect their interest then to beg others not to "disturb" them. Asia cannot succeed if we point swords at each other.

  • @akinkhoo i can assure you that atlest my country wont do that. we indians are real peace lovers.. we win countries by winning their hearts. not by piercing swords across their neck..

  • Nice way of putting it, Asia's new day has barely begun!

  • Shitty video

  • America FUCK YEAH!!!!!

  • @dongfap lol GONNA SAVE THE MUTHAFUCKING DAY - im British asian but this made me laughXD

  • Video says that America's rise and Europe's industrial revolution caused the Asian GDP% to drop. Is this the complete story? Can we say that European aggression, colonization, and unfair trade practices did not contribute to this drop?

I think that the modern times needs objective reporting that too from a source such as Economist. This video represents the sorry state of affairs of modern world!

  • @kapaleev It's a 2 minute infographic about Asia's economic output compared to the rest of the world it's not an in-depth analysis of all the reasons why Asia's economic share of the world economy shrank. That's not biased reporting it's a brief summary. Japan was a complete isolationist backwater until it was forcibly opened to the outside world by the USA.

  • dude econmag is awesome......feel like im in econ class

  • slavery can do wonders for your small fast growing economy ........wondering where america would be without bootstrapping their economy without slavery....?? hmmm

  • CrAsia.

  • America is a "has-been"

    Asia is the future.

    Jim Rogers is right.
