If you enjoyed this check out William Castle`s " Homicidal " that is also free here.Got mixed reviews because it was unfairly compared to Hitchcock`s "Psycho".They were both released around the same time.Love both films but Homicidal was edgier.There`s even a shock clock that gives you one minute for those of you who have a weak heart to escape it`s twisted ending.

This movie is in the genre of movie type I'm looking for: BW, simple setting, could-you-go-a-little-heaverie­r-on-the-campy-please, good acting with a limited casting number equals low-budget film. I remember about 15 years ago when Something Weird was selling this title under the banner "Johnny Legend's Untamed Video." Johnny's capsule review in their catalog ends by saying something like "If you haven't seen 'The Sadist' don't let another day go by." I could not agree more. Enjoyed it for the fifth or sixth time a few years ago when Joe Dante programmed it at the New Beverly Cinema in L.A.

This movie is a classic! Its taken from the Charlie Starkweather murders which inspired Natural Born Killers. Although Arch Hall is not known for his acting HA he puts in a pretty iconic thrill killer performance. I always dug this movie.
