  • It's not that they couldn't find the instruments, it's just that the musical style and taste had changed and he rewrote it for the audiences of the day

  • IT WAS GOD

  • At least the same kind of instruments could not be founded.

  • The key sounds awfully sharp, almost screechy. It's OK to play baroque instrumental music in modern tuning, but for vocal music it's just too high.

  • I don't think Mr. Handel would have disapproved at Mozarts tinkering..the aria in particular is very beautiful..like to hear the rest of it..

  • Mozart did not rewrite handel's work, he only has made the reorchestration, due to in continental Europe, the original instruments could not be founded, as in England.

  • @edosalp

Thanks! I've corrected my info section

I only want to add that Baron Swieten commissioned to Amadé this and Acis and Galatea reorchestrations with German translation made by himself.

The work of Mozart and Swieten has been important to make Handel's operas known in Germany.

  • @theprof1958 Thank you, for sharing your knowledge about these great composers.

  • @edosalp Im confused... They couldn't find Strings and basso continuo (maybe a pair of oboes) but they could find strings, basso continuo, oboes, clarinets, and flutes?

  • @UnoriginalComposer I couldn't agree more.

  • @UnoriginalComposer hahahhahaahh So the instruments couldn't be found in England? definitely not accurate.
