  • I'd love to have a boss like that.

  • Best thing ever. But you gotta love the ending -

"That was excellent. We should do that once a week."

  • @aiu1725 In the episode the President had a falling out with the chef... He didn't want to apologies... he way angry, ad thought waiting until the chef did do something wrong was better in the long term...

  • "my voice sounds familiar because im the president of the United States and im blowing smoke up your ass" lol

  • i called the butterball hotline once, my friend just died and i needed to know if vomiting the large quantity of tequila i had just drank onto an electrical outlet would kill me.

  • i love how he almost loses it when he's talking about his thermometer

  • so did butterball sponsor this during a popular show to get increased turkey sales.

    hmmm

  • Why does fictional President call when he has an Executive Chef cooking all his meals? Sincerely, Jason Lowen

  • @aiu7125 Because President Bartlet liked to know things, not just to have them done for him. And in this case, at the start of the scene he has an idea for a turkey hotline, so he wanted to see if Butterball's hotline was living up to what he imagined. Like he said, he was testing them, and he was thrilled that they were so good it because he respects smart, competent people. :)

  • @SchlossOtranto What in God's name are you talking about?

  • @SchlossOtranto Pretty sure any muslim participating in thanksgiving isn't exactly the jihad type.

Butterball was just trying to keep their market open to as many as possible. It's called capitalism. Don't like it, move to north korea.

  • @EugenieFranval2 lolkay??? Have a good time eating your butterball turkey.

  • "Bethersonton...that's one T with a H in there." LOVE IT!! LMAO

  • I'm seriously considering calling the Butterball hotline on Christmas Eve using this clip as a script.

  • @EugenieFranval2 Seriously, World Net Daily? Those guys are hacks.

  • That "something else" people can call stuffing when it's not stuffed is "dressing."

  • @EugenieFranval2 And we care why?

  • @RXdash78 He doesn't want us turning into secret Muslims. I wonder if he has a problem with Kosher meats? No Hebrew National Franks for you, young man!!

  • kevin and bean where is my 2011 butterball hotline?!?! BASTARDS!!!!

  • "Thats 1 T with an H in there..." God I do miss this show!

  • Watch and learn...

  • Fargo zip code is 58103

  • Yes there is a butterball hotline....turkeys are serious on thanksgiving.

  • wtf dude? lovelyyyy <3

  • Robyn21100 yup, there is.

  • Is there an actual Butterball hotline in the States or did the writers just make that up?

  • @robyn21100 there really is a Butterball hotline. It's 1-800-BUTTERBALL (1-800-288-8372)

  • lol this scene always cracks me up!

  • "I'm Joe Bethersonton. That's one t and with an h in there."

In future, I'm only going to buy my cars from Phil Baharnd

  • Joe bethersonton XD

  • I'm voting Bethersonten/Baharnd in 2012

  • Product placement!!

  • "That was excellent. We should do that once a week". lol he's such a dork. A lovable dork.

  • "I do radio commercials for........products"

Ah, the mind blank. We've all been there!

  • "The King of ....autosales of... Fargo...." HAHAH

  • "...are you kidding me?" the look on his face is priceless. also one of the far too rare moments of Toby being genuinely tickled.

  • I loved this show. I miss this show. Thank you for the Butterball Hotline clips! FYI, 180 degrees is too high. It will result in an overdone, very dry bird. 165 at the breast is fine, or 175 at the leg/thigh joint. This will kill harmful bacteria. The USDA recommendation is overly careful. Oven thermometers aren't always accurate, and can vary widely. They err on the side of caution.

  • Bartlett: "Do you think people should care where I spend Thanksgiving?"

    Toby: "I know I don't give a damn,,,"

  • There is no end to the classic, wonderful scenes in this show!! I loved every episode.

  • The Illusive Man knows about the Butterball Hotline too! Also Does Jacob from Mass effect 2! ;D

  • I love how Toby doesn't miss a beat calling for the Fargo zipcode. XD

  • Oh yes, it was given to me as a gift from the king of......autosales in....fargo LOL

  • I do radio ads for...products

  • I think the President Should call someone at random at least once a week.

  • Illusive man called the Butterball hotline

  • @kevynspeed and wasn't very Illusive xD

  • Best 7 years on TV!

  • The West Wing is too damn brilliant. Jed Bartlet, you very funny!!! Now I gotta go watch that scene where CJ gets a woot canal! :)

  • @purplerubbershoes As a fan of Josh Lyman, I avoid that clip like the plague... poor guy got slaughtered!

  • @sircamembert Jed Bartlet to Josh Lyman, "So you mean to tell me that not only do I have a secret inflation plan, but that you don't support it?! "LOL!!! Another hilarious Josh episode is the one where he goes online as Lemon Lyman? CJ Cregg to Josh: "If you ever go online again, I'm gonna shove a motherboard so far up your ass...SO FAR UP YOUR ASS!" You know you're a West Wing fan when you can dish out dialogue from memory, lol! :) Fantastic show!

  • @purplerubbershoes No, Cj had a throat issue, so Josh filled in as Press secretary and the press kicked his ass.

  • @LestatandBerial CJ had emergancy root cannal.

  • "I'm a citizen!"

  • I'm sure you are sir, but...

  • We should do that once a week.

  • "That's one T, and with an H in there."

  • He would be a great President!

  • The writers couldn't take 20 seconds out of their day to get an actual zip code for Fargo? North Dakota gets no respect.

  • 6 people must work for Jennie-O turkeys.

  • Jed Bartlet is amazing!

  • "Do you have an accurate thermometer?"

    "Oh, yeah....."

PRICELESS!!!! Perfect timing and tone of voice!!!!

  • I am guessing that 6 people were laughing so hard that they accidentally pressed the "thumbs down" button instead of "thumbs up"!

  • hilarious scenes

  • "That was excellent. We should do that once a week."

    LOL

  • Baharnd?

I gotta get better with the names.

  • Bartlet can speak without breathing...:-)

  • Comment removed

  • This is literally one of my favorite scenes from the entire run. I miss the West Wing.

  • that was hysterical!!! i almost pissed my pants when i first saw the episode!!!!!

  • He's right about one thing: Phil Baharnd can sell the hell out of a car.

  • The best part is Toby doesn't hesitate to get the zip code for Fargo. haha!!

  • And the funniest part is that Martin Sheen actually has a brother who does voice over work.... in other words, sometimes, when you think you are hearing Martin Sheen, you are actually hearing his brother, Joe Estevez.....

  • I think the women on the "Butterball Hotline" was Marjel Barret, does anyone know? Just in case you were wondering she is the voice of the computer from the shps on star trek. I think you can have have her as one of voices for your sat nav, but that is going slightly off topic!!

  • @dukestt Nope this wasn't Majel Barrett. Her voice was slightly deeper and richer than that of the Butterball rep.

  • @dukestt That's definitely NOT Majel Barrett Roddenberry.

  • How in the world does this video have 5 thumbs-down votes? I want to meet the person who doesn't think this scene is hilarious.

  • I wonder if Sheen was ad-libbing the "Pruder Street" part. It seemed so random.

  • the best part was when he gave Charlie the Paul Revere carving knife. I cry when ever I see it.

  • what does fargo mean??

  • @funnyapples1 It's a city in North Dakota. It's also a very good Coen Brothers movie.

  • @funnyapples1 it's a city in North Dakota, also the name of a movie a number of years ago.

  • the personal sous-chef of the King of... Auto Sales... in Fargo!

  • The best part of the whole thing is Toby just settling in and watching. You can see his mind working, he's already planning the aside in the book he'll write some day...

  • Is it me, or dose this scene seem to suggest that Washington is out of touch with mainstream America? OMG, who doesn't know about THE Butterball hot-line? Yes, this is a funny sceen, well-played by actor Martin Sheen. But please, please tell me that these sorts of people know more about America than what polling tells them!

  • @mhobren Sweety, it's comedy.

  • GOOD GOD I LOVE West Wing.

  • "Okay...good testing." haha

  • This reminds me of The American President when Andrew Shepherd wants to order flowers on his own. Also written by Sorkin for those who don't know :D

  • I wonder how many called that hotline and gave the same info that he did.

  • @MrProgressivelib Ooh, I never thought of doing that. But yeah, I bet others have tried it.

  • "Butterball has a HOTLINE???? God - I love my country!!!"

    ROTFLMAO!!!!!

  • "I think you made that second bacteria up" LOL! This is such a great scene. Thanks for editing all the "Butterball" scenes together! :)

  • Is it just me or is "Phil Baharnd" the funniest name ever? Even funnier than "Joe Bethersenton"

  • @Gwynne66 agreed haha

  • I could see Bartlett doing that once a week from a private line that doesn't show up on caller ID just to mess with the heads of Butterball reps. He's got that whole "mischevious college frat boy streak" in him that just makes the character great.

  • @cainster said great character would make a great president too, for that very reason :P

  • I used that too for my thanksgiving dinner and it worked LOL

  • I just used this information for cooking my turkey lol

  • nice editing!

  • "that was excellent! we should do that once a week!"

  • "I'm not saying that's necessarily a deal-breaker." Ha, I love Bartlet!

And Ron Silver! RIP =( He was so great on this show.

  • @GingerRocks03 especially when he was making fun of Margaret!!

  • "to the king of.....auto sales in fargo." LMAO

  • My favorite line "Zip code, Fargo ND, Right now!"

  • I know! Good thing Toby was there.

  • "Your voice sounds very familiar to me."

"I do radio commercials... for... products."

    Lol.

  • I'm so glad we live in a country that has a hot line to prepare turkey's for dinner. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

  • Haha. Bartlet has moments where he's just precious. This is one of them.

  • I watched this episode for the first time no more than 2 hours ago and was laughing so hard

  • president and monarch alike do have to hide there true identity like they were celebrity thats anoying at time for them

  • @Menand1 As read in Shakespeare's "Henry V".

  • This was such a funny scene! I laughed so hard :)

    Martin Sheen is so great!

  • "That was excellent. We should do that once a week."

    best line!!! :-)

  • He has an almost childish excitement when he calls the hotline.

Very endearing to hear that from a nobel prize winner.

Bruno has an awesome presence without saying anything.

  • for whatever reason, this is my favorite west wing scene. ohh my goddd hahahaha i love bartlet!!!

the way he says "helloooo!" to the answering machine on the hotline...priceless

  • Joe Bethersonton. Reminds me of the scene in "Fletch." I'm John... Cocteau...son. Well, it's Scotch-Romanian.

  • BAHAHAHA!

"God, I'm sorry. I love my country!"

  • I wish they showed the rest of that scene.

    Right after President Bartlet said:

"That was excellent! We should do that once a week"

there was a further exchange between Toby and Bartlet...

    TOBY: "Phil Baharnd?"

BARTLETT: "I gotta get better with the names."

I'm torn between which thanksgiving scene was better -- this one or the "Turkey Pardon" scene from the second season episode "Shibboleth". Both scenes are among my favorite West Wing moments.

  • Oh yeah, when he breaks down and explains that he isn't constitutionally authorized to pardon turkeys on a regular basis. So full of win.

  • @Bent41 yes, great sequence with Janney's office

  • - 'I'm ... a citizen.'

    - 'I'm sure you are, sir.'

very, very funny, Sorkin at his best.

  • LOL, funniest moment on this show.

  • Zip Code

    Fargo

    North Dakota

    Right Now

    Oh man I love Toby.

  • The man can sell a car like, well, like anything!

  • oh gosh this is so funny!

  • it was presented to me by the personal sous chef to the king of.... auto sales... in... fargo.

  • "I'm Joe Bethersonton. That's one t, and an h in there." hahahaha oh god i love this show :)

  • "That was excellent, we should do that once a week"

    LOOOOLLLLZZZ

  • HAHAHAHA!!!!!

I wonder what would have happened if he had said, "I'm Josiah Bartlet"

    lol.

  • LOL, funny moment.

  • "I'm a citizen...I'm Joe Bethersonton."

  • the king of.... auto sales in... fargo!

  • "If I cook it inside the turkey, is there a chance I could kill my guests. I'm not saying that's necessarily a deal breaker."

-That's the funniest line from the whole classic scene.

  • bruno is dead?

  • ron silver (the actor for bruno) died a few months ago.

  • i remember him best from reversal of fortune

  • "That was excellent. We should do that once a week."

    LOL I really love him.

  • "Ah, something important."

    "What is that, sir?"

"The number for the butterball hotline."

Ha ha! I love this show. I've seen all seven seasons.

  • " god im sorry but i love my country" is the funniest line in the whole clip!!!!

  • Anybody know what episode this is from?

  • its season 3 episode 7 'indians in the lobby'

  • "I do...radio commercials for...products."

This is the funniest thing ever.

  • It may even have a double entendre if Martin Sheen has ever done radio commercials himself :).

  • haha yeah i think he has

i heard one with him or someone who sounds exactly like him a few weeks ago

  • Just the most epically hilarious TWW scene - it really shows how damn awesome this show is!

  • cant believe brunos dead:(

  • "Phil Baharnd. The man can sell a car like...well, like anything."

  • "butterball has a hotline?" HALARIOUS!!!!

  • "That was excellent. We should do that once a week."

  • I love his reaction as if Butterball having a hotline is some act of profound genius.

  • Well, if you think about it, it is. I mean, someone's gotta cook Thanksgiving dinner. They might not always be good at it. That why it's great to have those pop-up turkey timers too.

  • "That was excellent! We should do that once a week." LOL

  • Oh yeah. it was presented to me from the personal sue chef to the king of the ........autosales

  • ...personal "sous" chef...

  • LOL!

  • god, that is too farkin funny

  • Just cried with laughter at this. I have to watch the whole 7 seasons again!! (for the 3rd time!)

  • "If I cook it inside the turkey, is there a chance I could kill my guests. I'm not saying that's necessarily a deal breaker."

    LMAO!

  • That's the funniest line from the whole classic scene.

  • "God, i'm sorry, i love my country."

    !!!! i love jed bartlet!

  • Is there really a butterball hotline? I try to convince my mom to replace the stuffing with more aromatic ingredients like onions or celery.

  • Yes, there is.

  • I loved West Wing and there are many Favorite moments and this is one of them. More so this time of year.. Thank you for the edits and the posting ! :)

  • I LOVE this show.

  • Tru dat

Think I'm finally gonna break down and get the complete boxed set. Can't wait no more.

  • Do it. I own it, best purchase ever. Ive gone through and watched it all twice now, on my third run

    and this clip is hilarious

  • @integral I did the same and I can't stop watching it

  • One of my favorite scenes throughout the history of this incredibly well-written show.

  • "King of autosales in.. Fargo" What a clever line... and a great show, btw, has anyone noticed the similarities between Obama and Santos (and their campaigns) from the 7th season.. I think that's sort of amusing.

  • Well Santos is actually based on Obama. Santos came just after the '04 convention, there is a lot of stuff about it if you just google Obama and The WW, i think there is even something on youtube

  • The President of the United States....has been put on hold. How's it feel to be a regular citizen, sir? You're a man of the people....who have been put on hold, some since 1998.

  • "I'm a citizen........." "I'm Joe Bethersonton---that's one T and with an H in there." What a great show!!!

  • "zip code fargo" gotta love ww !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
