Sato was great!. he crashed alot because he took chances that other drivers thought too risky. It lead to some exciting racing from him though. When he was on the limit he was as good as anyone.
Not at all. This is Q1, which simply sets the order for Q2. Drivers don't push hard in Q1, and in second qualifying Schumacher ended up 7 tenths faster.
It's not just the engine that makes the 2004 cars so fast. The '04 cars were light-years ahead of everything else (they were a good 3 seconds a lap faster than 2003 too). Check out my videos as it compares them all.
Scotracer, don't you think the 09 (and maybe even 08) cars are faster in cornering and braking than the 04 cars? I wouldn't say they are light-years ahead of every other era... it was definitely mostly the engine (IMO obviously).
Sorry man, not at all, back then aerodynamics hadn`t got so many stupid limits, wings had 3 plates, and diffusers were much bigger, if you don`t believe it compare aerodynamics of the 2004 mc laren and 2009 one...you`ll see, besides, lap times aren`t even close

@IvanMD09 Actually the 2009 cars were faster in the corners than 2004 cars. Traction Control only helps getting on the power at low speeds. So in low speed corners, it helped. However in high speed corners it was irrelevant. Also the 2009 cars had slick tyres while 2004 cars had grooved tyres. You wouldn't believe how little mechanical grip the grooved tyres had compared to the slicks. Turn three at Barcelona is a perfect example. 2009 cars could take it flat. 2004 cars couldn't.
