  • Rugby League is more popular worldwide they play league in more then 50 countries worldwide they play AFL in 3 hahahahaha whats better? I live in USA and there already is about 5 clubs in my city!

  • I thought this video was gonna be a rugby game haha I was like WTF are they doing

  • I almost fell off my chair when I found out that Kiwis play AFL too. What a ripper...greatest game of all ....Go NZ....

  • IN PNG PPL dont know or heard of any sport such as AFL....Its regarded as second class sport. BTW, thanks guys for kicking Kiwis's ass....

  • afl and rugby are two styles of toughnes whlies more waiting under a high ball and geting hit while rugby is tackling the fuck out of each other only rugby league is gay

  • Yeh Rugby League is gay.. play 15's or sevens...

AFL looks cool, and is its own sport..

ive ssen some1 trying to compare rugby and AFL... and different oppinions.. If AFl whishes to compare taughness and skills with rugby... go fuck yourself its embarresing that you look at it as a badass warriorsport when it isnt... no shame in it but please.. ur talking about ( Rugby ) .. and AFL -.- 7s is da game ;)

  • rugby fails

  • OK, In NZ we NEVER hear about AFL. It is looked upon as a very soft sport and really does harm to australia's reputation as being a tough brave nation. It is actually laughed upon in NZ. This game (NZ vs PNG) recieved absolutlely no publicity and its is a little embarressing to see these skinny little so called kiwis doing the HAKA. Regarding sport,,the ALL BLACKS are the HAKA!!! everyone else is imitating them(kiwi cricket team doesn't do the HAKA out of respect of the ALL BLACKS

  • have you fucking watch afl mate ? rugby is a gay sport for people with no brains and no skills its gay !

  • What, you consider rugby to be a sport? The idiots run into each other head on and only collide from a straight on angle.

It requires absolutely NO skill whatsoever.

  • AFL is only popular in australia rugby league is way more popular then AFL world wide

  • At least AFL is its own game

  • its good to see our game international

  • League didn't do it's self any favours in Western Australia.

When the Western Reds set up here all those years ago, a lot of us were stoked and got behind the team. It was the pundits from the east (including Vaughten and Stirlo) who relentlessly treated the Reds as some kind of a joke.

Mark Geyer didn't do league any favors either by getting pissed all the time and punching out the locals. A short lived attempt in WA

Besides, it's Union that's burying League in Australia - not Aussie Rules.

  • We finally beat NZ tonight in the 2008 AFL International Cup. Final Scores: New Zealand 7.4-46 v Papua New Guinea 7.12-54. PNG Power!!

  • Great news, mate. I'd love to see a PNG and a Kiwi team playing inthe AFL.

  • You say tom-ay-toes I say tom-ah-toes.

No point in comparing Apples and Pears mate. I love both codes myself.

Admittedly, my appreciation of Aussie Rules is deeper because I grew up with the game - and that's the point - anyone who has ever played the game will know that it every bit the game of skill and tactics that Rugby and Soccer are.

When I was a lad I thought all those rugger blokes with their heads in each other's bums were hilarious!

Too much sport is never enough!

  • lockyer,

Although I would like to see Australian Rules Football and Rugby League co-exist, I don't think it's possible in today's climate . Australian Rules Football supporters aren't open-minded enough to accept Rugby League. The AFL has made it their goal to attack Rugby League whenever they can.

Therefore, I'll continue to oppose the AFL and Australian Rules Football supporters until both of them work WITH Rugby League, not against it.

  • Rugby League is the better sport. A Rugby League match between Papua New Guinea and New Zealand would involve more integrity, skill and intensity than the tripe shown in this video.

  • League is dead

  • I didnt think Islanders played AFL...good to the sport getting a little bit more international, do they have seperate international rules?

  • lol its like watching under 12's. lots of desperation and determination, but not much skill.

  • great footage
