As a matter of fact, read Sidh Gost bani (pg 938), Guru Nanak Patshah, leads by example when he has an open question-answer session with jogis (sidhs). A true Guru always leads with an example, by practicing what he preaches. That is UNIQUE to Sikhism.
I think if WE start understanding Gurbani of SGGS, whole world would change.

I can NOT imagine any single corner of the world that would NOT have accepted Sikhism as its ONLY guiding light provided we 'SIkhs' had promoted & implemented these unique qualities of Sikhism in our daily lives. Never too late!

Is that enough to declare that it is beyond our comprehension. I dedicated 4-5 hrs/day for a few years & concepts started to become crystal clear & Gurmukhi / Punjabi wasn't one of my school subjects ! Hukam is Gods constituiton by which He runs this world. When we defy His 'Laws' we get pain & when we abide we are in 'Bliss', simple !

I do not understand why we are worried when Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji him self announce that after him the only GURU for Sikh is Shri Guru Granth Sahib, then if some one is treating Dasham Granth as GURU or giving the Reference of it as Sikhi he him self is not a Sikh.
The greatest disadvantage of RELIGION is that it discourages discussion and free opinion. If we believe SIKH religion is the greatest religion then we must open this to discussion and free opinion. I live in the UK and are more westernised probably than you, but have never forgot what my Grandmother taught and sing Kirtan everyday.
I use the teachings of our Guru in political discourses with Neo Con facists, the arguments leave them speechless.

Christian Catholics and Protestants murdering each other.
Muslim Suni's and Shiite's murdering each other.
Prof Darshan Singh is a great man but he should realise that this is hard for traditionalists to swallow.
Akal Takt has no right to judge him in private.
Even Maharaja Ranjit Singh at the height of his power held open court.
Please can Professor Darshan Singh & Akal Tahkt all parties swallow their pride and resolve this for the sake of Guru Nanak Dev.
