Like your video, very friendly and good opinions. However as great a vacuum packing is a Foodsaver is the worst choice on the market. They don't last and they are disposable. Check out VacUpack a much better quality unit that lasts and can be repaired.
I sold these Units directly from Jarden. The new stand up units have a lot of problems. You cannot reuse your bags, they don't seal mylar bags, they recently manufactured units with permanent gaskets that when your unit doesn't vac/seal there are NO trouble shooting steps to take better be within your 1 year warranty so you can have them replace your unit.
@italiancherrywine - Hey - I've been looking to get into canning. Can you send me a list of the equipment you use for home canning and maybe a brief how to - just so I don't blow myself up? I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Nice Guy but a really nasty or even a moderate disaster would cut off power so home pressure Canning and home de-hydrating is the only way to successfully preserve food.
I do it all the time with basic equipment and tap water. It's cheap reliable and easy.
P.S.
My home preserved food is exceptional as far as taste and nutrition.
Interesting information. However the Foodsaver is a POS and only lasts a few months. Don't waist your money on this brand there are many far better units you can find here on YouTube.
My air tight bag which came with the Food Saver does not hold the air for too long. I know the machine works perfectly and seals it tight first, but after about 30 days or longer, the bag gets loosen. I had collectible coins in couple bags and it sealed really nice and tight at first, but after a while all my coins were loose in all the bags. Do you have any tip ?
Hey...thanks for watching. I wish I had some good tips for you, but I have never used those air tight bags. I always use the rolls. I'll have to get some and try them.
My first food saver had a narrow sealing strip and it did that sometimes. My new one is twice as wide and is better. Make absolutely sure that the bag is clean and dry where it seals. I almost always have to wipe it off with a paper towel. I also put two seals on each end of the bag just to be sure. I can't say enough good things about the canisters. When I have too much salad I put half in a canister so it will last until I'm ready for it.
Great job on your vid. I found your video because I was thinking of doing a video on my vacuum packer. I was wondering if you had a plan to keep this stuff frozen if something hapened. I am not radicle but I do believe in these posibilitys. Chec out my vids and I think I will be doing A video on this.
My friend, we could be facing economic collapse or even a nuclear strike from Pakistan or somewhere else that would not only collapse the economy but also shut down America for many years. An EMP attack which is simply to do would knock out our entire power grid permenantly or at least for years. I recommend storing away 7 years of food. The Bible speaks of a 7 year tribulation and America is the first to go.
@7777Ralph Yeh, give Ralphie here the model number of your Foodsaver. He's going to make a hat out of it to save himself fom the evil EMP from Pakistan.
He gonna wear that hat for 7 years or mo'. 'Cuz the Bible told him so.
Hey, Ralphie! Obama's the President now, so maybe you should wear that hat for 14 yesr?
Hey thanks for not only the video but the wise reasons for buying it. I really got value from it.
But just a side note. Please stop eating the pork it is so unhealthy and the bible say no to eating it.

Vacuum sealing is a good idea, but go to Cabellas hunting website and get their stainless steel vacuum sealer.
cliffcox66 1 year ago
@cliffcox66 No the Cabellas units are to big and don't last as long as they should for the money.
