  • one person commented that these are uneducated ignorant people. Just wanted to let you know there are school teachers, nurses, xray techs just to mention a few occupations some hold that go to these churches. I know because I go to holiness serpent handling churches You will find some of the nicest smartes people in the world there.Like every other denomination we have a few not so smart but overall Im very proud of our faith.

  • Handling snakes, turning biscuits into Jesus, freeing aliens from your head, rising from the dead. Turning water into wine. What's the difference? It's all fucking nuts.

  • And people say Catholicism is weird. This stuff is like diet soft drinks... doesn't bode well in my mouth and stomach. Bitches pleaz!

  • Show me one place in the Bible where Jesus literally picked up a serpent.

  • @wardenphil Not only that my friend, show me also in the Bible where when Jesus spoke he hollered, yelled, bucked and jumped like some of these idiot preachers do!

  • @wardenphil Show me where Jesus said to go out, make lots of money, get married, build families, celebrate Christmas and whatever else. A cheap argument.

  • This is what happens when ignorant people interpret scripture.

  • @LivingMindfully1975 Agreed!!

I'm from the south, I'm neither baptist nor a one of those nutty pentacostals but I agree with you...when you have a bunch of ignorant backwoods dim-wits interpreting Biblical scripture this video is hardcore proof of what the end result is. Sure, there are religious wackos everywhere in the USA and the rest of the world but the southern US is loaded with ignorant crazies like these!

  • Acts 28 puts this misunderstanding into perspective. Paul was not looking for the snake, but it found him. He was fine. However the "ancient serpent" who is the devil would probably be the devil we are to handle, and not in a weird spiritual warfare sort of a way, but simply through a life of prayer, and submitting to God.

  • @colinb890 There is no way of knowing whether Paul accidentally got bitten by a serpent in Acts 28, or if he deliberately handled it in honor to Jesus' commands in the book of Mark. Other Christians look to Acts 28:5 to get OUT of something. Those aren't true Christians. A true Christian doesn't look for excuses OUT. They look for excuses IN - IN to GOD's acceptance and forgiveness - no matter what. If the Scriptures says something, do it. Mark 16 had FIVE signs - not two - not three - FIVE.

  • @mark16snakehandler Well I can't accuse you of not taking the Bible seriously. But I do believe the ending of Mark 16 is under dispute since there alternate endings. Besides that. What do I do if I live where there are no poisonous snakes? I live in Northern Alberta. If you know of any snake handling churches in my area I would love to check them out.

  • religion is so fucking stupid and borderline gay---tac these fucking tards and balance the budget

  • let him get bit by a gaboon viper.....he wont recover

  • there is actually more to the bible than the sinlgle verse their entire church is based on. also, while it says that god will protect you if you DO happen to get bitten or poisoned, it's really disrespectful to purposefully tempt the lord

  • @banananer16 I think it makes a lot of test god, or rather to give him the opportunity to show himself to you and thus to enter deeper into your heart. I think that when jesus said the pharisees ought not to tempt god he said that because they weren't interested in seeing the benefits of the miracle, so they wouldn't believe in it, and punish those who witnessed it if it did, and were mainly interested in seeing Jesus humiliated. The holiness churches resemble early christian churches very much.

  • @MrWillvee *makes a lot of sense to test god, or rather

  • @MrWillvee People test God all the time by going against His commandments. Many Christians tempt the Lord everyday in their other practices.

  • @banananer16 If you 'so called' Christians believe in ALL of the Bible, you will adhere to ALL of the Bible - instead of being rogue side choosers by doing 'this' for the Lord but not 'that'. Now THAT is tempting the Lord. THAT is the real insult - looking for excuses and using Scriptural "loop holes" to "cop out" of a mandate the Lord put upon his followers to adhere to. Those "side choosers" aren't true Christians. They are imitators.

  • I believe in the Bible, but I also believe these folks are carrying it a step further than God intended---yes, it says that you can lift up the serpents but it doesn't mean that you should tempt God by being foolish and trying to get yourself bitten by thee deadly critters

  • The Bible commands for salvation is to trust in Jesus Christ and him alone and what hehas done for salvation. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.(Romans 1:16). Jesus was born of a virgin, led a sinless life, was crucified and died, was buried, and on the third day he Arose!!! And all those that trust in Him alone are saved by grace and grace alone. Eph 2:8-9. Rom 3:23

  • Beautiful!

  • It's no coincidence that these churches appear to be in isolated areas, among generally uneducated appears. However, if that's what they want to do and they are only harming themselves..........who knows? As long they don't make kids do it.

  • Man, these people are fuckin' nuts.

  • this is great! This is my roots !

  • In the Bible you cant find any place to my knowledge besides where the Apostle Paul was bitten by a viper. The Bible sais that Paul shook off the viper into the fire. These people have taken this verse in my opinion way out of context.

  • @bradleyandjenna mark chapter 16 tells what follows a believer

  • @bradleyandjenna I totally agree with you!

  • i love getting my snake handled its so fun

  • where are the black folks..lol..right!

  • Snakes make church less boring.

  • @WhiteWolfWinter All churches have snakes...it's just that most of them walk on two legs.........

  • They forgot to mention that Dewey was bitten by a "2 step" snake that when it bites you, you can take only 2 steps and die. Kills you that quickly. And he survived it.

  • I studied with a master in India that drank a pound of mercury. They risk death to practice as they want?

  • Well I hope that my phallic worshiping sect, the Church of the Unavoidable Penis, receives a warm welcome when I set it up in this wonderfully tolerant part of the world. We do a bit of snake handling too, you know...

  • I saw this segment on this very program last night on the History channel. It was very initeresting, yet bizarre! Never seen anything like it! Must be truly fearless people!

  • they are the true church

  • I believe 100% Holiness is a way of life... and If you were to see it in person... You'd want what we OLE SERPENT HANDLERS had!!!!!

  • lol... at 8.40, he said doodoo...

  • they are a cult, no differant that voodoo doctors in haiti, or santaria...Jesus warned about these false apostles and messengers of satan...

  • I'm surrounded by these crazy fucks.

    aggghhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!!!

  • fascinating like voodoo.

  • religious.. tolerance.. of the mountain people?.. that is the biggest oxymoronic statement i have ever heard. Do you realize what would happen to a jew or a muslim who decided to set up a practice in those parts?

  • Well for a while I hadn't seen the video and then I found it again

  • CRAZY SHIT

  • I wondered whatever happend to this video. I don't believe in snake handling even though I am pentecostal and and I love the way they worship
