He is a singing Chem Prof. He has good stuff! (Not your looks, tho!)
So, now, not only content with teaching history, Amy is branching out, into interviews which give great links to other stuff! Thank you once again! BTW: I told him to Google YOU! Hah!
For those more weighty historic topics have you thought of using music from groups like Nightwish. Great sweeping symphonic rock music with impact. Congrats on another smash hit.
Another home run! Time to go learn something new about history. I love the 80s (wasn't that a TV show on VH1 a few years ago?). Love me some Culture Club. ANY WHO, I had never heard of this gentleman. I can not wait to read up on him. Thank you. Your coin eyes, cool, but freaky. Once again, GREAT job, keep it up!!
It just dawned on me: This video is the 1st time we've ever seen Mrs B in anything close to a "real" state! No incredible costumes, fantastic make-up jobs, stunning backgrounds, or multiple wigs! Of course, since she does have 731 wigs & hairpieces, we've no idea what her hair is really like anyway! But assuming this is indeed Mrs B, and that ONE person does indeed do both the singing & dancing.... (The TALENT!!) Voila! And in a plain yet gorgeous dress style. Awesome! Darn, but we're lucky!
I've had the chance to watch all of your videos - thank you for making history fun! I'm a university history student and I love watching your videos. My own history teachers through the years were never this cool...I feel ripped off now! But hopefully when I am teaching history I can make it as fun for my students ^_^
Of course, for J to get another part, which judging by the female comments I've read... is almost required..! BUT: He needs a role... Genhis Khan? Kukulkan? Hopefully, you'll be dancing too! (Hey! Us guys need eye candy as well!) Poor Mr H! More work for him - and no cameo role? He should be like Hichcock... But, you sang that one well! Who did the lyrics? The tune fit amazingly well! I guess this leaves you 5* as the most talented performers on Youtube. [*J, H, Bambi, Vicky, & Angelica! ;) ]
Clearly, Mr J is the luckiest guy in Hawaii -- he gets to dance with Mrs B in a video! So now, we have a co-star. Maybe if he is really lucky, he'll get another video! Another well done video. Made to look real easy, but probably a zillion hours of hard work. How lucky are we, in this day, that from around the world we can enjoy learning from this stuff. Thanks Mrs B, and Monsieurs H & J!
@PierreaSweedieCat I always have a smile when I read your comments! He IS pretty darn lucky, haha! If people like him, he MIGHT get to be in another video. We sure had a blast filming this on the first day of Winter break!
@historyteachers So I wonder what the 3 of you (along with Angelica & co!) could do with the Age of Aquarius, or Feist's 1234? With wig #730 & costume #1065, Mr J c/b Chris Columbus "1234 I found new continents and more... Oh, oh oh..." (Dance must be classical, of course!) Aquarius could tell of the dawning of the industrial age.... No, we are not requesting songs! But trying to provide inspiration? Ah! GUILTY, as charged! Well, take care, ya'll!
@PierreaSweedieCat Feist is definitely on our list..but I've already got 2 songs for Columbus (well, on is more about Isabella)...Age of Aquarius scares me
@historyteachers What, Mrs B is scared of a song? I'm stunned! As for Aquarius... Have you never heard "It is the dawning of the Age of ... Augustus?" (OK. I stole that from Viva Roma!) Would fit for Napoleon, too! Yes, I know we got a Nappy song. A good one, too!... But he's such a August (Oopps! I stole AGAIN!) Historical character! But, meh! I say let angels (including your cohorts!) sing & dance, and we mere mortals should pipe down, enjoy the show, and let the experts do their thing!
2- I'm happy to learn the existence of Mansa Mussa (immediately after watching the video, I rushed to Wikipedia to learn more about this great malian king)
3- I'm happy to see how Tahity and Hawai - that is France and USA- can cooperate when the stuff is intelligent and so cool in the meantime!!
Congratulation to Mrs B, and thank you to all people who help and work with her, or simply appreciate and support.
I wish my latin teacher looked like that!!! Oh and I love your videos! They offer humor and educational value for history buffs and desperate high school students alike.
As a history teacher and a Weird Al fanatic I think your videos are seriously the coolest thing I've EVER found on YouTube. Ever. From the beginning of the idea until you see it through its completion, how much time do you invest in each video?
@callmefairf wow- it depends...usually it takes about 3-4 hours for the lyrics, several more to make the music, about 1 hour to record the vocal, some more hours of mixing the song and then the real time-suck happens- video production! We usually take an hour for one song, but shoot up to 4 in a day...then Mr. H spends countless hours editing)...sigh
@historyteachers Really, really, really appreciate the time and energy you put into this-- showed the French Revolution song to my students and they loved it! I used the song as an intro to the unit and we pulled our vocabulary from the lyrics to the song. They really bought in! Thanks so much!!!
@historyteachers Yeah, but you do such a good job, and teach & entertain so much... I hope you continue to feel it is worth it. Your music is addictive! Mr H's graphics shows are addictive, too! Besides, we've all seen you smile at the end of a song. Either you really enjoy it, or you deserve an OSCAR for acting! And courtesy of Mr H, you've visited every age, era, land, & clime! And you never had to deal with the TSA! Kinda like if Mr H secretly owns a tele-transporter, hunh?
I had never heard of this guy, so now Mrs. B. is now teaching 55 year old guys new stuff! I'm a bit jealous of Mr J, though!!!!! Wonder if he knows how lucky he is? Good tune. Thanks for another good one! Most of your covers are as good as, or, in a few cases, better than the originals... Let's go see how the original compares!
Great! Although for the model/French teacher - this is either fabulous for your career or...could be odd! (I'm a French teacher and if I was half-naked on video on youtube I would have to guess I'd be fired! haha)
Great work - makes history fun - you're an inspiration to all!
Wasn't Mansa Musa a pitcher for the Orioles and Yankees. Or was that Mike Musina? I always got my Ptolemic Royalty confused with left handed starters.
My spouse just posted a link to your St. Thomas Aquinas video on his blog (it's the "Angelic Doctor's" feast day this weekend). He's not usually a fan of 80s music, but he's a huge history buff, and is very enthusiastic about anything which will excite young people (like our teenage "Guitar Hero"-playing daughter) about history.
Just want to say that I found your channel on Wednesday, and have in the past two days watched all your videos and got very little else done! So much fun, and I'm trying to incite my teacher husband to find ways to use them in his classes (unlikely, since he does mostly relief teaching in primary schools, but I can hope). I especially loved Martin Luther (managing to get 'hier stand ich...' into the song was pure genius, but I honestly couldn't pick an absolute favourite. Wonderful!
You are so good as teachers to me, that I feel really lucky to see what you are doing. And I won a couple of music award for educational work. There is a link to my website at my channel page and a learn online link for all ages that I bet you might like almost as much as I enjoy your creations.
