The Daimyo was commiting suicide to avoid mistreatment at your hands, and apparently seppuku was an honorable suicide ritual. That guy who beheaded him?

Was his second and very possibly his close friend.

@ponch01966 they supported most actions made by the U.S. such as the trade embargo on Iraq, the invasion of Iraq, turture in Abu Ghraib, selling weapons to regimes such as the Saudis, Bahrainis, ect knowing the fact they have lack of human rights. So even though they did some good things they still made the same mistakes from the crusades, colonilisation and modern events of claiming good intentions yet fuck up. but compaered to the U.S. their reputation aren't that bad.

Also, early in the campaign it's a good idea to make a few bow kobaya just to post on the trade spots and hold them until you can get trade ships to them. Bow kobaya can be built with the harbor upgrade so you can get them fairly early on.

I have to say I like the way your campaign is developing. Seeing you take a province or two in each episode makes it worth watching, as well as the gameplay tips you give :) One correction though - the Chosokabe daimyo was not being dishonorably finished off -- in fact the duty to behead you when you committed seppuku was given to someone whom you would trust very much, like father, brother, best friend.

The history nerd in me has to speak up. After he stabbed himself during seppuku, it was considered alright to have his "second" end it faster through the beheading rather than letting himbleed out through hisguts after he had proved his honor. I think.

Just to let u know its called seppuku when a samurai voluntarily commits suicide to save honour instead of being captured and humiliated, usually his most trusted friend was the person who cut his head off after he disemboweled himself. Great video Heir, Banzai!! ;)

Actually Heir at one point in Japan's history, Two Women ruled the Japanese Empire, but all of a sudden women no longer held that position. This is what I learned in High School world history. And Samurai killed themselves to retain their honor, and avoid punishment. So he didn't die in dishonor, he killed himself honorably.

I'm actually impressed by the auto resolve in Shogun 2. In Rome and other titles you could have over a dozen units to the AI's single gen bodyguard and still take like 80 casualties. From what I've seen CA has made the wise move to leave that bad autoresolve tendantcy behind.

Is it better to have tax rate on high and pay the upkeep cost of garrison units? Or is better to have tax on normal and allow the provinces' wealth to grow faster, so that over time you have more tax income?

In Shogun( the book) they explain sepukku. The "secondant" cuts of the head of the one that commits seppuku, so that the daymio won't show pain or suffering on his face, and therefor keeping his honor. The secondant is ussually a friend.

@djaktube the easiest way is to go into the options on the main menu and click controls. Then just read the controls for the battle map. And if you want different buttons to do the unit rotations, then you can change it easily in the same control menu.

Each of those trade nodes caps out at 10 ships. Building 30 trade ships and placing them there should cover most of your costs.

Oh and the reason they didn't use flaming arrows is because that needs to be researched first.

The multiplayer is dealing with some issues, mainly because of the other player being a douche, but also with instability of campaign co-op and a few stat tracking/matchmaking errors. The single player game is relatively intact.

You got to put multiple trade ships on the trading posts. A full stack of ten gives you about 3k money per port per turn

I find that some of the total war commentators that have followed much of the tw series always continue the battle in order to run down the remaining troops before they flee, and while this was needed in some of the previous titles I have found that in Shogun 2 the game will take into account your units running down a good number of the remaining troops if you choose to end battle.

I cannot say how much or how often it happens, but it does work from what i've tested.

Bow ashigaru have the flaming arrow ability as well Heir, just not online. You have to rescerch the art for the bowmen to use flaming arrows.
