Your right, its not big enough. our star would become a neutron star...doesnt matter that much though, cos the supernova would fry us...plus for a good few million years before the explosion the sun would grow so big that earth would be inside it. But yeh, neutron stars are heavy, just not as heavy as a black whole (apparantly the end of a pin worth of the stuff that makes up a neutron star would way more than a fully loaded oil tanker)
