I was lucky enough to see Bruce at No Nukes but this performance was my favorite To see him and Clarence in their primes was one of the highlights of my life.
Best show of my life!!! 40 some songs, live recording of Merry Christmas Baby for later release as a classic christmas single... jingle bells, wait til the midnight hour, bruce running around trying to figure out what tie it was for New Years...LOL,... the river tour and so much more.... Bruce kept coming out doing more encores...Clarence said in his book he was gonna tackle Bruce if he tried to do one more song...LOL...never to be repeated.... never to be forgotten :) Thank You Bruuuuuce & C!!!
Simply the greatest live performer of our time. Nobody comes close to perfoming with such energy and spotanaity. Most of you true fans knew he would play for three plus hours with a twenty minute intermission and no opening act. My stepdaughter went to see Justin Bieber play a marathon of a show that lasted 45 minutes last year. After 35+ years Bruce still rules.
LOL at 1.25 when they sit down and start BSing :) I haven't seen Bruce being this "cute" before, not that I've ever seen him live but reading these comments, I understand his shows are a bit more serious now. This was the first song of his that I heard; darling indeed :)
Man alive i love those guys! they never fail to bring a smile to my face or to touch my soul. The girl was really going for it too, looked like she was having the time of her life. Fantastic!
Not that I would know...but isn't it true he's really gotten into going into policital rambling during his concerts. Are all his fans unable to discern who they want to back when they vote? I think most of them are probably adults...
Nope, last tour he did but Working on a Dream he hasn't/ And it doesn't matter, you don't have to agree with the guy. It's just rock and roll, it can be diverse.
Not on the most recent tour. On the Magic tour (07-08) in introduced the song, Magic" by saying the songs wasn't really about magic, but rather, tricks, "We live in times when lies seem like the truth, the truth? Lies.
His politics are in the music. Las to Die is clearly about Iraq. Long Walk Home is about the rape of American values by the Bush administration - torture, rendition, violation of fundamental human rights, etc.
You have a problem with engaging in free speech? Boycott him.
What's so great about Springsteen? I truly feel that nobody has ever loved their own songs as much as him. I didn't know why i listened to this song over and over back then, i didn't ask why back then. I know now that it was because he was all heart, and back then, so was i.
Wow, this brings back memories. One of the highlights of my life (musical or otherwise) was seeing Bruce at the L.A. Sports Arena on this tour. I still remember all the houselights coming on (keep in mind this was a large 15-17,000-seat arena) for the encores and them doing "Born to Run" and the "Devil With the Blue Dress" medley with the whole arena lit up. You could've powered a small city with the electricity in the air.
Tell me this man doesn't love his job...night after night, hour after hour, year after year... Bring me the name of the Dancing Senorita in Long Island that night........shaking dem hips like a Jersey Girl.......
