@WarTornGod All adventure games follow the format that "Adventure" from the Atari put forth. Even Zelda stole it's gameplay from Adventure.

Literally -every- game -ever- that has been an adventure game has used elements from the grandfather of adventure games...."Adventure".

I know what you mean about Nostalgia, I bought DVDs of the Super Mario Bros cartoon because as a kid I enjoyed the hell out of it, looking at it now as an adult did I realize: "Wow...this is really stupid." Or if you're me you go: "Damn Bowser's a badass sometimes."

@allybear68 Nostalgia -is- bad. Nostalgia is when you remember something, and remember it as good. Usually, this is your brain lying to you.

Does that mean old shit is bad? No. But things you remember to be good from your childhood, usually don't hold up well, or end up not being as good or even good at all.

@Tatsudoshi That's not true for everything... but for some things it is. A good personal example is the show "All That" on Nick. I loved it as a kid... then I found a few episodes online a few months ago and watched it again... and wondered for the life of me what I found so funny or enjoyable about it.

But another Nostalgic trip that still holds pretty well today is the older Simpsons episodes. I laughed at it as a kid, but laugh at it for entirely different reasons as an adult.

@Tatsudoshi Unless it's a good game your bashing, that someone still enjoys today. Maybe for it's music, it's characters, I mean character, (2 efing games, and only one character that I actually enjoyed.) the gameplay, or just the impact of the game on one's childhood. The problem here is you can bash a game or franchise and give actual reasons why the game sucked, or just say in ones opinion that the game sucked. It's like saying Naruto sucks, as apposed to the Sly Cooper games sucking.
