"sceptics" failed the last 15 years to produce a single peer reviewed or just respected argument against agw. they are lying, its a public-confusion-industry.
If the fuel prices keep going up, I'm going to have to invest in some polar bear skins to keep warm next winter. I better hurry, they are all drowning.
They won't be needing the fur anyway, right?
It is going to be something like 130 degrees in 2020.
@jag10 Uhh I don't know if you watched the video... but why don't you take a look at the places on the map that are cities, like the ones you propose. And then, look at the places that have the largest increases in temperature over the the timeline given, you'll find that there isn't a correlation between them. I've seen the bit you've cherry picked from a bunch of poorly thought out arguments against global warming, you should also keep in mind that there are multiple sampling methods at work.
@metareborn , yes, and based on my research (years ago) - it was negligible (urban heat islands/city sprawl). Surface temps is hotter - very little - if anything to do with the atmosphere.
The gubbermint and NASA do far more damage to the environment and atmosphere than all the citizens of the world put together.
@jag10 So then which is it, that the urban heat island effect exists and is a factor in these, or is it negligible? Also, I don't know if you watched the panel on this for the government that was aired a few months back on CSPAN but they actually addressed the pattern of warming, and why it supports the fact that this is human caused
With regard to your second point, I have no rebuttal, because I can't distinctively show evidence that runs against it, could you show me where you found that info
@metareborn , it exists, is a factor, and is negligible. I saw the corrupted panel on CSPAN. It doesn't matter what you or I think - the science is settled.
I hope you like peak energy, paying taxes to private central banking, code enforcement checking your carbon footprint, and your kids saying "what happened to America?".
You're adorable, it's like you think you know things! You start your argument talking about the heat island effect, then you say it's negligible, which negates your original point (and by the way, a study was done showing that the heat island effect was bogus, the people that did it actually took the sensors that were recommended by the proponents of the heat island effect for this test). Also, code enforcement is something I do a lot in my work, it's what keeps our homes and lives protected
@metareborn , Code enforcement is about control and generating revenue - a litmus test and they keep pushing the envelope. The do fuckall for civilization - and modeled after the 3rd Reich. They protect insurance companies/ banks, while empowering control grids. They are useless.
I have experience with these people and I will tell you flat out - they are an absolutely useless and invasive service. They keep homes/ lives protected? LOL
And now you're done :) You can go and spout all your bullshit all you want, but if we didn't have code enforcement, people would be dead. This isn't something you can debate, asbestos kills, radon kills, CO kills, and you're a moron to suggest otherwise. Thank you for allowing me to decimate your arguments and bring it to how dumb you are. I don't know if you're typically aware of this, but there's a rule in debate called "Godwin's Law" Look it up sometime.
@metareborn , Only a code enforcement officer or a socialist libtard would believe what you are saying. Firstly, code enforcement protects insurance and banking interests - does not protect "private property". Who would be dead??? Code enforcement does not test for any of those things you mentioned, moron. They protect and serve public interests (government). I am aware of Godwin's law - it was made up by a code enforcement officer who tired of being called a Nazi.
You're still talking? Seriously? I'm done arguing with you, you're fractally wrong. One of the things you said earlier was entirely correct, that the data is in, and guess what? It contradicts the point you've attempted to make. So if you disagree with it, go and become a scientist and prove the people that study this for years. Until then, shut up, you're wrong, and you can't show otherwise. I however, can easily go to research journals and show anything you try to say wrong. Bye.
Also, I don't do code enforcement directly, I'm a geotechnical engineer, it's my job to make sure that nasty heavy metal ions and waste don't seep into your drinking water, or your basement. I obey the codes laid down, because I understand that it keeps people safe. If you need to pretend that I'm a liberal to keep your idiotic mindset safe, then by all means, call me what you please, but governor Christie has done my state a hell of a lot of good and I was proud to say I voted for him.
@metareborn , and if heavy metal does seep - whose job is it to grease the EPA? Nothing wrong with having codes and best practices, under the rule of law. I have to deal with these automatons in real life - and you can't sue them.
@jag10 At the firm I work for, and any that my friends work for, we stay away from the EPA and the DEP, they make our lives and work hell if you get in their way. To avoid them, we follow the codes that are put forth by them so we don't have problems, if there are issues, there are different types of constituency planning that are also well documented. This is a matter of ethics, it's important to just about anyone in my field of work to make sure people stay alive, at least to cover our asses
@metareborn , I don't agree with them (codes) because of the reason why they were instituted and how/why they are enforced. We are legally forced to abide by codes (some defy reason), in some cases these codes are injurious to property owners, and the property owner has zero legal recourse.
In one case: problem can't be touched because of code, but law requires it to be fixed, yet an Act says you can't, while your neighbor files a lawsuit. To sort out requires 3 Fed agencies, 2 state, &local.
@jag10 you know those 6" PVC tubes in your basement, they're to keep you from being irradiated I don't know how old you are, but that whole asbestos thing? Yeah, code and law helps people with that, too.
Look at the data. Earth is still cooler on average than it was 2 million years ago. We are losing our atmosphere! Atmospheric pressure is half what it was in ages past. Plants lock carbon in the ground. It is our job to dig it out and burn it. We are an intended part of Earth's natural cycle. Source: Cosmological Ice Ages.
Have you told the astrophysicists and geophysicist of this great insight of yours? Do you really think people have not looked into the sun as the reaosn for the present warming? Really? Try this: go to Google Scholar and type in "Total Soar Irradiance" and see the work that has been done.
I love all the climate deniers in here. What exactly is your motivation? Do you fail to see that taking action against carbon emissions is a GIGANTIC WIN FOR HUMANKIND EITHER WAY? If you're wrong and manmade global warming exists, we interveine and survive. If you're right and it doesn't we all breathe easier, drink cleaner water and enjoy an environment less spoiled.
Honestly people, I can't see why we're not all on board here. Well, save those with interest in dumping pollutants everywhere...
looking at your videos seems you don't like creationists, so I will use a argument to copy yours that you hate. If you don't believe in God you will go to hell, so why don't you just accept him.
Subjugate: Have you measured god using multiple data points and gathering methods lately? Do you have satellites around his supposed place of origin watching him 24/7?
Apples and oranges my friend. This isn't philosophy, this is atmospheric science.
And for the record -not that it matters here in the least bit- no, I'm not keen on creationism or intelligent design. But then again, we're not talking about that, are we?
Actually I believe in climate change, considering I'm studying meteorology. Little silly not to. I just didn't like your argument. "Just give it a try, we could die or we could not".
Understandable, and I agree, the argument was logically weak. If anything it was more of a quick missive fired from the hip on a whim. Though I think in its ethos it does hint at a possible framework for working toward compromise.
erix, truth is you've been lied to! How? By govt NOT giving you full information! Ever heard of deforestation? Its another human thing but cutting forests changes local and regional climates and causes CO2 build up in the lower atmosphere. So why NOT attack that problem globally? BECAUSE there's NO gain for govt in it- no seizing of the people's wealth and no increase in govt power.
You ARE right! We must clean up our act! BUT govt will control all your life if you don't wake up to their game!
I think everyones anti-pollution. Some of us just don't like the lies we're being fed.
Global warming is making governments rich through carbon-taxes. Simple as that. There is science backing up both sides of the arguement - but the media takes only one side.
How exactly is Cap and Trade going to "save" the ice caps this time from melting?
I can understand that it could "slow" down the inevitable, but these caps have been melting for 10,000 years. Ever since they expanded down half way to the equator.
Not that im not all for cleaner industry, but those blocks of ice will melt regardless of human activity or existance.
If I could do something I would, because we here in New England, USA has received a lot of rain. this whole global warming thing, yes we as humans have played a important role. do really think that coal is clean.. it is not, in fact its in the ground to begin with. we need to do something now instead of fighting..
I'm right by the ocean In Daly City wich is practically San Francisco. These last few years we've noticed lesser and lesser fog and more sunny/hotter days than usual, so i believe this story.
see, we need to start learning to use less. the internet is a good thing so we now can communicate about this.. whats more important right now is fixing our planet then Health care because its a human right. then fixxing our country.. stop going to war thats the problem as well..
the media and TV like to see fear because when people are afraid the tend to buy more stuff. for example "Oh shit, I need that flat screen tv before I die." or "like my neighbor and old friend did preparing her family before Y2K, she bought a shit load of toilet paper and its true because they are still using today" people do stupid in times when they think they are going to be lost.
In Vermont we had a very wet summer rained everyday so far, we had one week in august which was our heat wave.. and now its freakin cold again.. and damn! what are we going to do.. we need cold temps we need a equal balance of weather too.
I am just wondering why us in the Chicago area had the Coldest July, and probably August on record.... I know that isn't the point of this video, I am just sort of curious.
I support this scientific data. In my country Guatemala City, this year has been hot than ever. And in this month -September- is the most rainy of all, but this year no rain at all! Since I was a kid this the first time with no rain. Drought worries everybody and no crops for the next year. It's gonna be grim for the poor as usual.
Yep below normal here too. Would actually like it if all the global warming crap was true so I actually could of had a summer instead of going from spring right into fall.
Earth is a huge ball of shit with a surface area of roughly 196,937,400 square miles. It sits about 91 million miles from a huge fission powered yellow ball of shit that provides light and heat. It is totally unacceptable for our climate to change a few degrees here and there. Everyone knows that the rays from the huge yellow ball of shit are always constant. It must be man polluting the roughly 5 Q U A D R I L L I O N tonnes of atmosphere on the planet causing it!
"Everyone knows that the rays from the huge yellow ball of shit are always constant". Can you use this logic to explain the multiple Ice Ages the Earth has gone through in the past? How about the warming of earth before man? While you're pondering for hours about those questions can you also explain sunspot variations?
Why yes! I can! The Ice ages happened on this ball of shit because a smaller ball of shit slammed into us killing off the animals. The lack of methane from the animals shitting on our ball of shit planet lead to cooling of the planet. Sunspots on the huge yellow ball of shit are caused massive phoenix like creatures living there who fart hydrogen. The huge yellow fission powered ball of shit has had relatively little sunspot activity right now because these creatures are hibernating.
True true! But I must point out that you forgot to mention all the leprechauns and unicorns that blocked the "smaller ball of shit" with their magic by farting it into the sun, which ultimately caused a black hole. After literally everything in existence was sucked through into hyperspace except earth and a different star the earth began to heat up intensely. Then humans evolved.
Don't tell anyone, but the leprechauns and unicorns are returning to our ball of shit planet in 2012 when Micheal Moore slips in the shower and the impact shifts the magnetic poles of our shit ball.
To hell with global warming!!! Do you people realize that the days are getting shorter and soon we wont have any daylight in the northern hemisphere? We wont be able to grow crops and we will be totaly dependant on Chavez for our food supplies!!
Holy shit! The Oceans are rising a cunt hair every year! We are all gonna drown! Oh wait, let me just step up on this pebble... whew I'm safe for another 5 years at least!
I think this "global warming" is being caused by invisible aliens trying to terraform the planet. We all need to shoot our guns into the air at one time and kill them all.
Wow all these experts on the earth's billion year old climate cycles based on 200 years of recorded weather. Impressive. Scientists are never wrong. They can fix an entire planets climate by making us all use compact florescent lamps filled with mercury and phosphors, yet they still can't predict the weather accurately 5 days out. Go figure.
what I can't figure out is when the weather comes on and gives the record temp. it is usually from a few years ago, so if we are warming wouldn't it be getting hotter every year? huh
"On Feb. 2, 2007, the United Nations scientific panel ... human activity has 'very likely' been the driving force in that change over the last 50 years."
Ridiculous.
When did we forget that there have been times that this whole planet was covered in ice? Get over yourselves, people.
This video literally contains no information.

funny, that global scientologists always leave out the information that could be fact checked....
Cherry picked stations that now reside in urban heat islands (or just phantom stations which are now represented from +/- 2 degrees of latitude.
It is a scam. Wake up tree huggers, some of these stations now reside in urban heat islands measured 24" from the blacktop.

"Everyone knows that the rays from the huge yellow ball of shit are always constant". Can you use this logic to explain the multiple Ice Ages the Earth has gone through in the past? How about the warming of earth before man? While you're pondering for hours about those questions can you also explain sunspot variations?
NickSansivero 2 years ago
Why yes!

Don't forget about hurricanes... after Katrina we were supposed to get 50+ a year due to global warming and rising Ocean temps... Oops.

The hole on the ozone is getting bigger! Oh, wait, It's getting smaller!
Pugsfarm 2 years ago
the earth will be gone by the year 2011...this is just the begining of manifest ocean...the theory that people will one day live underwater
Vidabonds 2 years ago
Holy shit! The Oceans are rising a cunt hair every year! We are all gonna drown! Oh wait, let me just step up on this pebble... whew I'm safe for another 5 years at least!
Pugsfarm 2 years ago
I think this "global warming" is being caused by invisible aliens trying to terraform the planet. We all need to shoot our guns into the air at one time and kill them all.

I'm sure that's the next plan for Homeland Security...

Go figure.

It's natural for the Earth to heat. It's been heating since the Ice Age.
hoboX10 2 years ago
But the reason this is amazing is because of how much the temp. has increased in such a short amount of time.
bballaman92 2 years ago
But I hate how people thing humans had such a HUGE effect on it when really we are just a spec on the Earth.
hoboX10 2 years ago
the earth is a product of people not so much the other way around
Vidabonds 2 years ago
what I can't figure out is when the weather comes on and gives the record temp. it is usually from a few years ago, so if we are warming wouldn't it be getting hotter every year? huh

"On Feb. 2, 2007, the United Nations scientific panel ... human activity has 'very likely' been the driving force in that change over the last 50 years."
Ridiculous.
When did we forget that there have been times that this whole planet was covered in ice? Get over yourselves, people.

I guess you know more and are smarter than the worlds top scientist. I'm impressed.
