I have mathematical reasoning for the after life now:
Before I was born there was two possibilities:
A. My parents would meet (And my existence is possible)
B. My parents would not meet (And my existence is impossible)
So the possibility of me & impossibility of me would exist simultaneously and yet the possibility of my parents meeting going all the way back to the big bang would have been so unlikely that unless there is an after life you face improbability of this beyond belief.

What did happen is what happened. Think about this... before you roll a 6-sided die you say "There is a 1 in 6 chance this will land on a 4." Then you roll it and it lands on a 5. What are the chances it landed on a 5? 100%. That is what happened, and there is a 0% chance anything else could have happened... like landing on 4.

I read this researcher's book. The problem with this type of an experiment, is even if we assume that she is a legit psychic, great, it does not mean that she is getting messages from the 'beyond.' How do you prove that the information is indeed from the beyond. Certainly a real psychic doesn't ONLY get information from the dead.

Death should not be pondered upon by humans. It is seriously beyond our borders. When we not know of it and may never actually reveal the physicality of it, why bother finding it?
I think consciousness survives - new conscious life forms share it. But memories go away. Like waking up and not remembering who you are and not knowing you were awake before the dream. @vdizhoor I actually think I agree with you. This is a pretty weak experimental protocol as far as these class of experiments go. Usually they'll do a triple blind setup, with a proxy (stand-in) subject, and have blind judges rate the reports against decoys.

I'm not going to get into a debate here about such experiments and what they actually imply..However what I and others experienced / saw was not a mere hallucination. I don't know who or what produced the phenomena I saw, with my own eyes..It doesn't prove there is a personal deity in heaven or that there is life after death..But I saw what I saw, and I can't deny that.

When you die, the matter in your brain decomposes, and most likely will become food for bacteria. there will NOT be any bacteria running around with absorbed memories of your life, anymore than you remember what it feels like to be a cow when you eat its brain. When you die, the matter and energy in your body is dispersed into randomness.

No. You (as an infinite Self/Soul) don't even need to return to the material world if you don't wish to. 'Karma' (material attachments) can compel one to return, however. And, the material world offers very unique experiences that cannot be had elsewhere. It can be extremely unpleasant & difficult, but Creation has an insatiable thirst to experience its infinite Self.

I have mathematical reasoning for the after life now:
Before I was born there was two possibilities:
A. My parents would meet (And my existence is possible)
B. My parents would not meet (And my existence is impossible)
So the possibility of me & impossibility of me would exist simultaneously and yet the possibility of my parents meeting going all the way back to the big bang would have been so unlikely that unless there is an after life you face improbability of this beyond belief.

@deanmullen10 The problem is as soon as something happens, the probability of it happening becomes 100%. Any number of other things could have happened, but they didn't. What did happen is what happened. Think about this... before you roll a 6-sided die you say "There is a 1 in 6 chance this will land on a 4." Then you roll it and it lands on a 5. What are the chances it landed on a 5? 100%. That is what happened, and there is a 0% chance anything else could have happened... like landing on 4.

(Inner work i.e. meditation) Remember 'God ' is a word that has so many meanings that is has become somewhat off-putting to many. I read this researcher's book. The problem with this type of an experiment, is even if we assume that she is a legit psychic, great, it does not mean that she is getting messages from the 'beyond.' How do you prove that the information is indeed from the beyond. Certainly a real psychic doesn't ONLY get information from the dead.

I think consciousness survives - new conscious life forms share it. But memories go away. Like waking up and not remembering who you are and not knowing you were awake before the dream. New memories will form. And there is always new life - in this world, or other worlds in the Galaxy, the Universe or Multiverse. Life is mortal and eternal. Death prevents it from corruption.

because we know that memories fade away - we forget things. But we are never unaware of self. There is always the world around us. Its the one thing that we have in common - perception of the world. We all observe it from different points of view, and our memories are physically disconnected. We pass through nonexistence when we are unconscious, unaware of the non-existence, and pick up memories that we left off the previous night. The price to pay for immortality is occasional amnesia.

Source of my philosophy is me - since it is, as you put it "my own philosophy". Various personal observations I guess. A general observation that we are never unaware, there is always something. When we are knocked out, we don't exist, but the self passes through that time period. I think, that memories are artifacts of the brain They deteriorate through life, and fully deteriorate in the end. But as long as some consciousness exists, it exists for "all those" who are dead.

We see one dude, where she got 70% accuracy. How many subjects were tried? A kid is a good guess. Then they CONFIRM it and ask about Brandon. @vdizhoor I actually think I agree with you. This is a pretty weak experimental protocol as far as these class of experiments go. Usually they'll do a triple blind setup, with a proxy (stand-in) subject, and have blind judges rate the reports against decoys.
I don't know much about Lori Campbell in particular, but this experiment is sub-par regardless, and Dr Schwartz should know this. It might just be an informal thing, but with the media, that can give a bad impression.

There isn't a single NDE which cannot be explained and debunked by modern science.
The whole phenomena is a massive hallucination caused dying brain cells. There is NO plausible science that says consciousness can exist outside the body, in an immaterial form.

The fact a person loses their memory doesn't imply the memory isn't there..The question is , where is "there"? We don't really know. I'm not going to get into a debate here about such experiments and what they actually imply..However what I and others experienced / saw was not a mere hallucination. I don't know who or what produced the phenomena I saw, with my own eyes..It doesn't prove there is a personal deity in heaven or that there is life after death..But I saw what I saw, and I can't deny that.
It was clearly paranormal or let's just say , unexplainable.

Is not a good driver because they cant control the car they are driving.. In the studies done on NDE's they determined that during an NDE blind people are able to see, which would make me believe that the brain is just a vessel that the soul and consciousness use while here on earth.

@mrfunnyman99 we are energy and matter. Our memories are stored in the organization of matter in our brain, not in any pattern of energy. When you die, the matter in your brain decomposes, and most likely will become food for bacteria. there will NOT be any bacteria running around with absorbed memories of your life, anymore than you remember what it feels like to be a cow when you eat its brain. When you die, the matter and energy in your body is dispersed into randomness.

This stuff is not surprising at all. Every death of a student, I've seen commemorated with some form of plaque or honorary measure. This is just deliberate vagueness, the same kind used by Nostradamus and other "visionaries" since the beginning of mankind's existence. Say one thing with a thousand possible interpretations, and chances are, one of those interpretations will be correct.

But a person whose soul (consciousness) is totally connected to and identified with a physical body will be totally affected by whatever happens to that body.
