Yeah, and the chorus has a similiar melody to the song "Shortnin' Bread". I've noticed thzat several of The archies' songs by Neil Goldberg have the same basic chord structure, which is one of the things thAt makes them so cool-you can sing them in counterpoint! For example-"Honey" and "La-La-La-La-Love", "Young Love" and "Don't Let it Get You Down" . Try it sometime-sing "Honey" while you're listening to "La-La-La-:La- Love" or vice-versa-it sounds very pretty!
All 32 Giant Jukebox songs written, arranged and produced in the studio soley by Neil Brian Goldberg. (ON THE ROLLING CREDITS OF EVERY SHOW). Jeff Barry gave him the deal. ENTERTAINMENT RIGHTS UK BOUGHT THE ARCHIES, NOW THEY CLAIM THEY DONT HAVE TO PAY ROYALTIES OR CREDIT TO NEIL GOLDBERG, THE BRAVE ECO WARRIOR WHO WROTE THE 1ST ECOLOGY SONG MR FACTORY, WHO KICKED DOWN THE DOORS BRINGING IN THE 1ST POSITIVE MESSAGES ON KIDS TV. WHAT A TRAGIC DISGRACE , WHAT A ROTTEN INDUSTRY FULL OF RAT-THEIVES
At work I listen to The Archies almost every day, and nobody calls me lame for it. I proudly boast about what a big fan of The Archies I am, and my boss and co-workers don't care because they respect the work I do, and if listening to The Archies makes me work better, then they're all for it! I'm not afraid to say that I love alot of things that other people call lame, and I don't care what they think. To me, what's lame is following the crowd just to look "in" instead of just being yourself!
Maybe in some circles The Archies were lame, but not to me. I love all kinds of music of that period, from pop to country to rock to bubblegum, to classical, to nursery rhymes, to protest songs, etc. One thing that could be said for The Archies' music is that at least it's upbeat and positive, offering simple, yet effective ways to tackling big world problems in small ways, instead of just saying that everything's rotten, but offering no solutions. What's so lame about that?
Only squares watched this in 69s I was 12 this was so lame.
If you took an archies lunch box to school you got beat up.
cool kids watched George of the Jungle, tom Slick, and pink panther which played on the other channel from the archies the little girls watched archies and the cool boys watched pink panther and George of the Jungle.
2 of my friends always fought with little sisters who wanted the archies so they came to my house. The Archies was POP culture for the masses yuck
"Jungle George", "My Singing Guitar", 'We're One Big Family', Sweet Saturday Night', Mr. Factory. (The first ecology song) and all 32 Giant Jukebox Archie Funhouse songs were written arranged and produced by Neil Brian Goldberg. ASCAP (Sugar Sugar was written and produced by Jeff Barry, who assigned the Giant jukebox project to Neil.)
Well, I don't see anything wrong with one or two live action shots (another Filmation specialty).

The beat is similar to what's present in Bo Diddley's hits and in the frat rock hits of the early '60s.

Jungle George has almost the same lyrical beat as One Big Family....

Wow, this series seems pretty neat! This show's style seems to remind me of a cross between Hanna-Barbera and Jay Ward, IMO
