This project is way too ambitious. I do commend their aspirations, but realistically it cannot happen. I am a Gujarati but born in Canada and there is lots things that I have noticed that need to change before Gujarat really pushes itself ahead. Just came from Ahmedabad. I am preparing a letter to CM Modi. Hopefully it goes through. I took lots of notes on my trip.
Also, megalomaniac projects like these will always end up in fascism. The local population, were they asked about this? NO. It's the Three Gorges Dam project all over again, because India has to show China, that it too, can displace millions of people without question! A pissing contest, about who's balls are bigger, is all

Dholera SIR, Hazira SIR and all other SIR at a cost of fertile land of poor farmer. On paper Government has shown that the land going to acquire for SIR is non-fertile land but it’s not true. In Surat, farmers have already opposed for HAZIRA SIR, as they will lose their fertile land. But government will anyhow acquire their land. Its really not fare. Industrial development not at a cost of poor farmer fertile land. Otherwise state will produce chemical but not vegetables.

@chand7161 you posted your same rubbish comment on all 5 videos about Dholera SIR, first check your info Dholera situated near Gulf of Khambhat so there is no more fertile land for farmer and very big area has huge amount of salt mixed up with land so no more fertile land for farmers.

Excellent Documentary - It is fact & WORLD knows that:
Gujarat Can & Gujarat will, Gujarati Create Life, Wealth & Happiness. Dholera Special Investment Region will be New Gujarat within Gujarat, by UTILIZING Marshy - Unproductive land & will give tremendous boost to the underdeveloped adjoining region of Bhavanagar & Dhandhuka. Will decrease the migration towards FEW metros. It is an EYE opening example of : VISION OF MISSION BY LEADERSHIP - Nitin K. Oza. Surat, Gujarat - India.
Go for it but how you plan to stop the terrorisum of islam to distroy what you create .fisrt create a hindu nation and then start all this. Islam is for distruction unless we have plan to stop islam all develepoment will end up in dust.
I see positive things, only if people will give Gujarat and for the most part India a chance, the potential can becom a reality. I understand the corruption is there, but, look at the improvement too. The people who are complaining are buying the cheaply foriegn goods over Indian made, still are fascinated with foreign products. I am just not saying that, since last 7 years 90% of the time I have bought things that are made in India, even if I had to pay a bigger price.
thank you to showing big dream but how much time to start this project and when it will complete? Best of Luck Modi Sir (a great man with global vision) he must be PM of our country
Even if its build it, they still won't be able to keep "on your face" corruption, livestock, beggers and the auto rickshaws. Top 4 things that pretty much make it a destination of last resort.
It is an "S.I.R" and so is self governed. They have special laws under the SIR act that let the local governing body keep such "elements" out of the region.
It is very easy to sit behind a computer and throw pessimistic comments at everything India does. I wonder what great things you have done for India lately.
Are you kidding? I live in Gujarat. So I know what I am talking about and I can see with my own eyes. I think you need to look past the sugar coated window.
Do you have a time machine to travel into the future and live in this fully developed Dholera SIR region and notice auto rickshaws and pan dabba walas or even corrupt babus looking for bribes?
Are you that stupid to claim to know anything about a project that has not even started? It is still in proposal phase.
I was merely pointing to the new ACT that they passed that makes the region autonomous and self governed which holds out to promise better governence in theory.
@pogularocky Yes I have a time machine it's called "History" and tells me that we have had on your face" corruption, livestock, beggers and the auto gas powered rickshaws. For quite some time. What you fail to realize is that an ounce of action is worth more than a ton of your sugar coated "promise of a better tommorow ACT laws" point.
Your history does not serve you well here because this kind of venture was never taken up in India before. This is an experiment and unless it is implemented, we cannot pre-judge the outcomes.
So, just chill and be a bit optimistic in life. Pessimism never takes our country forward.
@pogularocky You mistake pessimism for realism. The fact remains is building an infrastructure which is suddenly going to make it better isn't going to cut it. You have to see signs of civic duty as well as enforcement of the laws - of which perhaps slowly is happening but not to the point where you can build an entire city where all these problems don't exist.
we hav been listening of such projects from centuries and only two or three times they have become a reality like belapur cbd, navi mumbai, powai, gurgaon and noida...rest are just huge political propogandas!
LOL... you said 2 or 3 times and listed 6 cities yourself. I can add at least 5 or 6 more to that list... a dozen new world-class cities in the last 20 years is a huge achievement.
Check out Lavasa City once. It is already completing Phase 1. These projects are all taking shape, whether pessimists like you believe in them or not.
Not too long ago they created HITEC City. A promise of better living and self governance. Guess what? They are starting to have issues because they are starting to see more and more corruption all the way to the police. How do I know, well I visit there every 3 months and see it with my own 2 eyes. They also have laws - some good ones - but no one really enforces them.
Are you talking about Hitech City in Hyderabad? Or is there another such place in Gujarat?
I live in Hitech City in Hyderabad. There is no autonomy to this place. It is a part of the city. Just a place where the city planning commission just relaxed the building restrictions to allow huge corporate offices to spring up. That's it. The autos, beggars, corrupt police... these are extensions of the main city.
A whole new city, privately managed under new laws, will be different.
This project is way too ambitious. I do commend their aspirations, but realistically it cannot happen. I am a Gujarati but born in Canada and there is lots things that I have noticed that need to change before Gujarat really pushes itself ahead. Just came from Ahmedabad. Decentralization?
The state not only thinks, but acts, when others don't even think.(quite comical)
Which actually means you are just to dumb to know what's good for you.
And the NWO keeps rolling on,but not so smoothly.

Modi speaks with his actions, not merely words
Every project he proposes becomes a reality and a huge success, not merely domestically but on a global scale.
His state is what the rest of India needs to emulate
