It appears that all these people, including Viswa, are cowards. But in reality, the law of destiny says - everybody will do all kinds of irrational things, to make the destiny happen. Unfortunately, only great sages like Vyasdev, knows the destiny. He warned Draupadi to take care of her hair. This is not religion, this is a law of nature. Einstein recognized this law when he said god does not play dice. He believed that the universe is completely preplanned.
This was going to be the last episod eof the night, but honestly HOW could I sleep NOW?! :O *goes on watching addictive wisdom-insightfull-religious-melodrama*
even the ganges wont be able to WASH this sin" I suppose?
THIS WAS EPIC! THIS OMG!O_O
I think this has been the more enlightening moment of all MB for me so far: evil in it´s mightiest form, the darkest hour I´ve seen so far.. I can even know where I could´ve commit the sin of yudisthir in my own life... I am truly so grateful for this wisdom... at the same time... history was truly cruel to yudisthir on his horrible character flaw. Gambling worm has been his achiless heel.
40:00 No one ever thinks this, but you kind of have to feel bad for the little guys who get caught in the middle of all this. Not to mention in the war...
40:35 Typical Draupadi... doesn't really hit home until it affects her directly.
r u crazy..? Vidhur supported d rite..he nvr suported duryodhan coz he ws rong..Draupadi ws arrogant..but if nebody ws inher place..he wud b 2..nt justifyin her comment on Duryodhan..but she ws 1 of d most butiful..Queen of Samrat..she had 13 dasis..just 2 make her hair..it s her fault..but she ws sorry 4 it..Wat duryodhan did in return ws nt acceptable..v r al humans nd v make mistakes..Vidhur s rite..
31:35 Dhritarashtra: "Actually Vidur, given what the bitch said about me the other day, I'm totally inclined to let this one slide. In fact, more than ever, I kind of wish I had eyes to see the look on her face."
@Namsii97 Subhadra, hands down. Neither her nor Draupadi are really my type, but Draupadi's nose is a tad on the big side for my taste. I am also biased by the fact that the actress playing Subhadra is portraying a fun loving, sweet, and girly character, whereas the actress portraying Draupadi is portraying a shrewish, domineering, serious sort of woman. On the plus side for Draupadi, she seems to be better endowed, although I suspect that's just the costuming.
Again, they went about it all wrong. After owning the 5 brothers, he should have just treated them well and employed them to really conquer the world. Instead of the 'world' by which they meant India. The problem with thinking small/ getting caught up in the little stuff.
Does anyone know where I could download the WHOLE Mahabharat on my computer for like Windows media player? I figure it'll be like 30GB, but thats fine :O, or I might just watch here, any opinions and ideas, And this is fantastic i stopped watching for 2 months but came back now :D
@Sikhindu In the Mahabharata, believe it or not, Subala (Sakuni's father) was still alive and ruling. In this series, Sakuni's son Uluka was ruling on his father's behalf.
Thanks for the reply. One more question. Was revenge for his sister marrying a blind man the only motivation for making sure Duryodhan was spoiled like that, or was there more to it? Did he really care for him or did he just want to destroy Hastinapur?
@Sikhindu I think the whole revenge for his sister marrying a blind man thing is a creation of this series (one which doesn't agree with Sakuni's actions, IMHO). I haven't found any evidence for it in the Mahabharata (i.e. the Critical Edition & Ganguli's English translation based on the Bombay & Bengal Editions). Though Sakuni WAS unhappy about the marriage. IMHO, he wanted Duryodhana alone to rule, and he had a more selfish, materialistic outlook to life which he transmitted to his nephew.
Thanks again. More questions again, if you can still answer. Did Duryodhan really have 100 siblings, or was that just a symbolic number? Did other women birth kids even though they were not the queen?
I could pay you to reasearch them for me :) I guess you are one of those that hates it when people ask questions during a movie :) There's nothing wrong with asking. We have a proverb 'Kuuliza sio ujinga', and it means asking is not stupidity. We also have another 'Asiyejua haambiwi' and it means the one who does not know is not told. People anwered my questions, and I did go ahead and do more reading on my own. I even communicated via PM with some folks. You need to cool down :)
@Sikhindu u misunderstand, the type of questions u ask is not good because the answers are all over the net..go to Wikipedia if you need more answers then go consult the Purana to make sure it coincides. You need to do research before you ask....its a fact. I am only teaching you the way you should behave when you need an answer..but do it your way if you find it works best for u.
And I should listen to you because? If I'm reacting to something I saw in an episode, I'll type it out as a question. If it pisses you off, you can always ignore it. You are one of the very few who does not like to offer your knowledge, others have given it freely.
@Sikhindu actually what happened was when kunti's children were born, gandhari was jealos because she had not yet given birth to anything/anybody (sorry) so she beat her womb and then gave birth to bunch of grey 'mass' (i like to call it blubber...but idk), so she went to the sage for help and he divided it all into 100 balls, and put each in a pot of ghee, duryodhan emerged first, then dushasen and so on. hope that helps :)
@SatyaVenugopal they say that shakuni was so full of hatred for kuru clan because so he vowed to destroy all in hustinapur because dristraj put his family in jail and gave them one fist of rice a day ( to starve them to death) and shakunis father chose his son to eat the rice so he could get revenge for the family.he was released by his sisters plea, they say itisnt true because it wasnt written and you say the directors invented his jealousy that his nephew wasnt on the throne..so what is true?
I loved this episode, it's very much dramatic, and much more immersive than what I read in the Sabha Parva, by the way it is also much close to the writting. I cannot wait to see in the next episode Draupadi in the Court Hall and her complete surrender to Lord Krishna in her most critical moment. Great.
if you look up Sahadev on wikipedia it tells you that he was an astrologer and could foresee the events that were to come the Pandavas way but he was cursed to remain silent about it even though he knew, its interesting to note how subtly this comes across in the acting

Why did it take the staking of human beings for Duryodhan's dad to become worried? All the while he had been so happy.
