Hi guys do not wish to spam , I just ask for some help i am just starting out making tactical youtube videos please if it is possible check out my channel regards Batb
I got an Ultratech pretty recently when I saw that they made some in those awesome camo schemes, mine is urban camo w/ dagger blade. The spring broke after only about three or four weeks; granted I did open and close it a lot in that time. Is that unusual, do you know? Do you think it was a fluke that it broke that fast?
@cme8890 Even if you opened it like a thousand times I think it should still hold up. Probably was a faulty spring, but should be covered under their warranty. I don't think is should break that fast.. probably was a fluke.
I haven't owned any of their really recent pieces, but anything back in their glory days was pretty bomb-proof. The Urban Camo is pretty sweet looking though.
@bulbinking it will break skin if you fire it into a person! hard too! but it pops it all track, a simple pull off the blade or a snap of the wrist puts it back on track
@bulbinking I've stabbed Microtech OTFs into hardwood with enough force to stick the knife there. Not exactly a torture test but I figure if it can handle that it can handle the soft, fleshy meatbags of mostly-water.

I guess it's a good thing the switch is a bit hard to pull, wouldn't want the blade popping up in my pocket.

What steel do they use and how much push-force can the blade take?
bulbinking 2 months ago
@bulbinking Steel is 154CM, "push-force" is not given as a spec. I've never tried stabbing anything hard with it either.
