@smedfulful not everyone who likes honda's is an "import asshole". My uncle has an 85 monte carlo ss with drag slicks and 1000 hp. drag car. Mom has a cherry red '69 camaro. Dad has a 2007 mustang shelby 289. Uncle has a twin turbo vette c6 with a n.o.s system. Guess which car im getting a honda civic. BECAUSE I CAN.
I like this camaro. My question is what is this thing following the rear bumper in some racing cars. Kind of wires ended with small wheels. I saw also another thing following the rear bumper of camaro F-Bomb that looked like a kind of small box with a pipe comming in the car. What is this all staff for ?
@aXbassXhead Before 1974 or so, emissions stuff doesn't matter, so you can run whatever you want in a car pre-1974 in America as long as it isn't too loud and it has some sort of radial tire, can't use full race slicks on the road here.
@bergaflickal Depends. Mopar made a 383 big block as well as a 400 big block, the 400 having the same size bore as a 440, just a shorter stroke. The motor in this car is not, in any way, a stock chevy motor. NRE can apparently make up to 500 cubic inch small blocks cut from a solid chunk of metal
@maddog872 Except for horsepower. Horsepower is the replacement for displacement. Displacement is nice, but RPM and Boost is what makes things go. This car only helps to back that up; there are plenty of 572s and 632s that wish they could match turbo small block power.
@StabyMcStabsFace I agree with you more or less, however, at the end of the day there's a REASON the quickest cars on the planet (ie: top fuel dragsters) all run big blocks. There really is no replacement for displacement. On the street I definitely feel a boosted small block is the way to go. Of course Tom Nelson makes huge power with any displacement, yeah?
@hackman03 Some ECU's in newer cars will advance spark timing for better power. This is not to say they are adding power but that they are pulling it back for different grades of fuel.
How does such high horsepower ever get to the ground if the damn thing hits the limiter so quickly? He said the mode he was driving in (6 psi, 91 octane) the engine was only making around 760hp, and not even that seemed very streetable when he was on it, because it hit the limiter within 2 seconds of hard throttle. While impressive, other than cruising, where's the entertainment?
@cbxsage If your not a horsepower head theres probably no entertainment. Its not practical to have a street car with even 750 horsepower. Thats the enjoyment tho, and its either your thing or it isnt.
If your car does not require high octane gas, chances are, you will actually lose power. This is a proven fact, ask any experienced drag racer. But then, you might be able to make up the difference by playing around with the timing advance, but then again, each engine is different so it's hard to say either way..
@hackman03 True, as long as it's not a high compression engine with a knock sensor that automatically retards the ignition timing when using low octane. If it is, then using higher octane gas results in more advanced ignition timing, which results in a power increase. That being said, everything else equal, higher octane gas contains lower energy per unit volume (and weight) than low octane, because stuff that adds octane generally contains oxygen, which reduces the energy content.
@usundacars $37,200 for the engine(427 TT Hot Rod Series) + mods for probably $5000(craftsmans pay, fitting, testing etc) + car(about $5000(its doesnt have to have an engine :))) and $2800 international shipping so have $50,000 ready before you call them :)
@hackman03 ..Ya that would be a good build...if you have a problem running boost through the carb like i did, there is a place called csu out of california that preps your carb to see boost...idk how much boost your going to run or if you already knew about it just a fyi...i am running 22 pounds through mine without a prob, once time the wasted gate line came off and it seen 50 pounds for a pull lol the carb was ok but the motor didnt like that much haha...very spendy accident
@hackman03.....ya burning more fuel but its also cheaper and you can run more boost being that the methanol burns cooler...with a boosted motor timing is the way you keep motors together. Less timing as the boost goes up and good fuel as well....but no race gas or any gas for that matter wont do any noticable preformance for a stock motor....i am talking about a boosted motor, timing and fuel is everything for making power and keeping it reliable
@hackman03 and timing fuel and boost has everything to do with tuning???...i have a carburated 1210whp twin turbo big block with no intercooler methonal injected at high boost other then that it runs on e85 or e98 mix
i got a 1970 chevelle 454 and damn its a bitch keeping the intake clean would have to clean this under the hood he must never drive this bitch other than the rice track
Race gas has ~3% less energy content than pump gas. Not even enough to notice, but its there. Meaning, with no adjustments, a motor tuned for pump gas will lose power with race gas. But, like you said, race gas has a huge advantage because you can start getting crazy with the compressions.
lol at the honda joke...so true =)
I'm glad I could actually have a civilized conversation with another youtuber for once. It doesn't happen much anymore.
@HaleFire7 both you guys are retarded...get real run e98 with turbo motors burns cooler so you can run high boost and its cheaper then 87 by almost a dollar;)
My god man, in the end the numbers are the numbers and race gas has less energy than pump gas. That was the point I was trying to make, and you argued with it. And I thought you said timing had nothing to do with power? I'm not sure what argument you are trying to make sir...
Would any body know if 12.5:1 compression be enough to run methanol/ achol? Some people say 13:1 and others say 12:1. I would like to get my motor set up to run achol i have 12.5:1 compression to work with, is this enough?
Race gas doesn't give any more power than regular gas. In fact, you put race gas in your daily driver and you'll lose power. Its all about the timing.
@HaleFire7 what the heck are u talking about..... dude if i run Regular gas in my mustang gt 4.6l v8 it runs pretty stout. But if i but 100 octane in it, it really opens it up and i have a whole lot more power than i would ever get out of regular pump gas.....
@HaleFire7 dude, i was only stating what ive found out by running it my car. I said that from a stand point of how the car ran with regular gas and then running with racefuel. running 87 octane it almost feels kinda sluggish to me and then i put 93 in it and the acceleration is better and over it runs great. But when i put 110 in it, to me "my opinion if i'm wrong its my fault" it feels like a huge difference to me. The reasoning behind what im saying is like with this nelson motor.
@CarimboHanky If you're expecting 1000+ hp and over 1000+ lb fb of torque to hook up on the street, you're expecting too much. Search "GMC Typhoon : 1200hp Turbo V6 Drag Race Wheelie" to see what they do on the track.
@CarimboHanky I don't think you comprehend this sort of power being used on the street from city speeds. This isn't a peaky Jap turbo car which can keep some decent hope of traction until the boost comes in, larger displacement cars build power over very wide power bands.
Also, quite obviously, he's not trying to get it to hook up. Showing off with tire smoke and wheel spin. If you hunt for it, there's plenty of videos of NRE cars on the track.
@philyt like i said before, i have seen NRE cars on track... not impressed at all, i have seen and driven cars with over a 1000hp on street that seem to have a better performance that these NRE build cars...
@johnboyp92 Because I think that is who ordered the Car. If you check out the videos of where this Car went, you can watch as the Danish guy tries to drive this beast. Nelson should have given the guy a lesson on how to handle this monster.

`why would u send that AMERICAN car to DENMARK
johnboyp92 1 year ago
@johnboyp92 Because I think that is who ordered the Car. If you check out the videos of where this Car went, you can watch as the Danish guy tries to drive this beast. Nelson should have given the guy a lesson on how to handle this monster.
