This parable is about bearing fruit. There is a seed, a sower and the fruit. The sower is Christ, the seed is his word and the soil is the hearts of man. The first 3 places the sower throws the seeds are among people who are not saved and that's why it can't grow. The word is given to all but if God has not given you an ear to hear, then you won't understand the message. The last one is called good soil, Therefore they are the only ones who can bear fruit for they are already saved and have ears

Quite the revelation man, really reminds me of the 1 example C.S.Lewis made when explaining how God shines His light unto all men but it only SEEMS like He's shining on some more than others cuz a light is reflected better on a mirror/glass that is clean, than on one that's dusty/greasy. In the same way, God reveals and shines His same light into all our lives but how much of His presence is reflected back out to others is a matter of our submissiveness and willingless to let Him clean us up.
