This is what I was looking for since I saw the film but I can't seem to but it on iTunes- would you gave any suggestions as to where to get this track? Thank you so much!
Please do not convert the sound and take out the scratches from the old record. A old Schellack record without the scratches is like a ship, but no water! The song is awesome!
Yes! The Chevrolet program! That was even before Don wilson, who later joined Jack as his announcer in 1934 for the JELLO show on NBC. My favorite singer was Frank Parker -1934-1934. Ah to live in those depression era days.........
Recorded on January 20, 1930, and originally released as "Nat Shilkret and the Victor Orchestra". James Melton later became a popular semi-classical and opera singer on radio, and starred in several Metropolitan Opera productions as well...
I have the Burt Lown of this w/Smith Ballew as the Vocalist on ARC (Romeo) it is a wonderful song. If you could repost for fidelity reasons that would be great, but it is a great record nontheless; for a Shilkret it is also pretty scarce as well, even for 1929.
Nice! What are the lyrics?

That's right, on Jack's "CHEVROLET PROGRAM", 'barber', when Melton was the resident tenor and "silly kid" (as Kenny Baker and Dennis Day later were).

You should try to redo this one. This is a great song. All your other posts came out good.
