  • Last time I check RR-Trents have been blowing up in Indonesia! GE-None GE all the way

  • @Jl777100 Last time I checked, there had also been four "uncontained failures" on GE built engines in recent years. In the interests of balance, I just thought I'd fill in the bits you seem to have missed.

  • Cool

  • @Maverickrad Dude: don't take him on account: I prefer GE engines over RR any day of the week. And A.net sucks donkey balls already lol xD

    Cheers ^_^

  • how come not GE

  • @Maverickrad You're right, some ain't got a clue have they. Imagine this: ANA go to Boeing and say they want the 787. "No problem" say Boeing, "You got 2 engine choices, but 1 of them burns 25% more fuel/trip than the other". ANA man thinks for a minute then says, "ok, we'll go with the one that burns the 25% extra fuel". We know where tis is going, right. Suggest you go back to school and learn what criteria aircraft manufacturers use when selecting engine suppliers. Start with reqd SFC.....

  • @Maverickrad Its difficult to take someone seriously when they say the difference in fuel consumption in the GEnx & Trent equivalent is 25%. Had that been the case, RR would never have got the go ahead from Boeing to compete on the 787. So I'm gonna suggest you look at the recent discussion (particularly Reply5) on the merits of both:

    airliners. net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/5268478/1/#1

Better you check that out than rely on ignorance.

  • What a beautiful piece of machinery! What we can do as humans is beyond beautiful and yet we slaughter each other..... As much as I try I just cannot understand it. The 787 is a work of art

  • @Maverickrad What crap! Aside from the uncontained explosion of the Trent 900 on QF32, RR have had no problems with their engines in commercial service for the past 15yrs, unlike GE. If Boeing had decided to run with GE engines only on the 787, they would have lost business to Airbus, plain & simple. There may be a cosy relationship between Boeing and GE on the 777ER/LR but Boeing wont commit financial suicide by denying airlines a choice. Your talk off RR bankruptcy is plain nonsense

  • rolls-royce :)

  • Boeing, The global leader in aviation.

  • IF ITS BOEING - IT WONT BE GOING!

    C'MON YOU AIRBUS

  • It will suck when planes become too quiet eventually silent, its not the same if you cant hear the engine sounds.thumbs up if you agree.

  • @powervr250 It will be nice imo, then you can sleep on the plane.

  • @Montagezie well actually the ambient sounds of the engine help me to sleep, i find them quite relaxing or soothing.

  • @powervr250 It's when you stop hearing the engine noises you have to worry lol

  • @Freeflyer91 actually losing engines is not as bad as controls as you can still ``glide in`` for a certain distance as long as you have enough altitude . losing controls though = FUCKED if there is no back up system, so i ask what would happen if an airbus electronics failed fucking up its fly by wire system, do they have back ups? if so which kind.

  • @powervr250 how about dropping the eninges?? btw boeing and airbus, are both use rolls roce engines, so dont copare them on the engines

  • I flew these during the war.

  • @lucabrasi1337 I rode your mamma during the war.

  • @lucabrasi1337 looooooooooooooooooooooool damn good

  • @lucabrasi1337 Sure :D. Is it okay, that Boeing 787 is from 2009?

  • @lucabrasi1337 U are an absolute dickhead!! Go home boy wanker

  • @jeffrosamson 16 people think I'm pretty funny....lol..

  • RR makes fantastic engines, Ge makes fantastic engines, i really havent dealt with boeing engines but in anycase who cares, gas turbine technology is one that isnt delt with lightly because peoples life are put on the quality of the engine, but all engines no matter the make or model have a life time, when it is reached it breaks. just like our sorry asses.

  • The most beautiful plane made today, well the 787 Dreamliner and the 747-8 are both the best looking planes made today. I love those wings.

  • I own a 727

  • @pvjinflight airbus is terrible and always crashes cause of failures just because airbus has the biggest airliner doesn't mean it's the best

  • @concon787 yeah... Airbus sucks and always crashes because if cheap cockpits... There so simple airplanes as for Boeing is advanced and very safe. It's it's not Boeing in not going either

  • Airbus has only made a profit on one plane. What does that mean? It means

they are derivative innovators who copy and are funded by several governments.

Not blank sheet innovators. So long as those governments write checks for

the losses they are good. Boeing does not put business or profit infront of safety.

As a businessman I tell you Airbus won't last financially. It is exciting to compare sales. But take a look deeper.

  • If its Boeing its not going.

  • if its not boeing im not going

  • @concon787 Well exactly no one ever wanted you to leave Canada so please do not fly at all.

  • The 787 is one ugly plane!

  • please help me idk why my flightgear doesnt work

  • I just wish they took more pride in there cars they build like there turbines. lol

  • Wow... I was in Seattle a few months ago at the museum of flight... This 787 is gigantic. It was taxiing then I went outside. This thing passed me and when it lifted the nose you couldn't even hear it. Amazing..

  • Very quiet engine

  • sigh the engine is actually pretty quiet ... i liked the really loud noise they made

  • A latest generation RR Trent 1000. Wonder how does the technology compare with the old JT3Ds of the old 707s??

  • While the two engines look huge, the plane itself looks rather small. How does it compare in size to the Airbus A380?

  • Comment removed

  • @1stCondi maybe half the size this plane is closer in size to a 767

  • I make the fan blades for these engines

  • cockpit looks sooo sexy

  • ooooo she's quiet, this is the future

  • I make the fan blades for this Trent 1000 engine

  • is a quiet engine!!!

  • Ilike boeing plane because it is quiet

  • that is a quiet engine!

  • no it means u like Boeing

  • I live 3 miles from where that plane was built!!

  • is the engine diameter of 787 is the same as 777ER? can anyone help me out....

  • @jainish007 Nope, the GE90-115B's bigger in diameter ( 3.25 fan diameter) and more powerful than the trent 1000 and the GEnx

  • @AF401 thanks...appreciate that

  • What a beautiful sound - Rolls Royce. Made in England :-)

  • in 1:04 the airplane head is squeezed...lol

  • Why are all the comments suporting airbus marked as spam?

  • this airplane is ugly, it's anything but a dreamliner

  • @julionica FUCK YOU BOEING IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @WeinerDogcreations Don't get me wrong you idiot, I like Boeing, it's this airplane in particular I do not like

  • @julionica How do you not like it the wings?

  • @WeinerDogcreations The wings are awesome but the front of the aircraft is just not of my taste, the ones I like are the 777s, 737-800s.

  • trent front fan disc manufactured at rolls-royce,barnoldswick!assembled at derby rr plant.

  • Awesome but nothing infront of a GE90-115b !!

  • thats a big engine :)

  • Have GE managed to actually deliver their attempt at an engine for the 787 yet or are they still Imagining

  • Those are Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, i make the fan blades for them.

  • if its an airbus... im going if its a boeing..... im going :D

y do people h8 on planes?

    all planes r sik!

  • @shababsta

Because people are VERY anal about what planes they go on. they can't see how sad and pathetic they are. a plane is a plane they are all amazing :P

  • @SinclairisCool amen 2 that :P

  • which is better engine for the 787 rr tren 1000 or GEnx?

  • Yes. Medium to long haul.

  • Comment removed

  • I would hope not. It says Rolls Royce on the side.....

  • 0:51 - Rolls Royce Trent 1000

  • They are RR Trents as seen at 0:55. So this concludes they arent General Electric engines

  • no they are rolls royce trent 1000

  • rollys royce? i dont get it

  • They make jet engines as well as the Phantom and cars like that. :)

  • DONT WATCH IT!!!! You wouldnt be watching the whole thing if it was wasting your time..

  • @Cyquishlationa damn!! i read your comment after the video...

  • Sorry guys, I meant to respond to this under " holdenls1ssz' s " post..the way he spelled " YOUR " and it's supposed to be " YOU'RE "..as in YOU ARE...LMAO..what a stupid uneducated dumb F*ck ....LMFAO..

  • I first thought the engines were from GE or Pratt and witney, not from the european RR.

  • is that rolls royce trent 1000 or genx

  • @imtiaz90 These are RR. On the engine cowlings it has the Rolls Royce logo

  • i know its cool rr rocks!!!

  • It is a 1000 can u read on the engine it says RR which stands for Rolls Royce!!!! so its a Rolls Royce trent !000!

  • @imtiaz90 Idiot, if you actually took the time to watch the whole video, you'd notice that "Rolls Royce" is written in big letters on the engine. Next time, look before posting your comment.

  • @NorExpedition stop being so sure of your brilliant intelligence,

  • @imtiaz90 wtf??? look at 00:56

  • @imtiaz90

    look at 0:55

you can see the Rolls Royce Logo

  • Hey guys, just spam fachy1981 and 'thumb down' any of his bad comments

  • 747 can blow away a sedan. these then may be able to blow away a house

  • Those engines are huge.

  • If it's not Boeing, I'm not going! means that you don't like Boeing planes

  • Actually it means that if it isn't a Boeing that I'm not flying. If it's an airbus I'm not going if it's a Boeing... I'm going. That is what it means. Go on the tour in Seattle. That is their trademark

  • @flyingking12093 Dragongirl66 is always here to stir with the Boeing fans... Boeing will always remain THE plane company. Behind the 787 all the way!

  • @calasite I agree with ya buddy.

  • I like to troll people on youtube, but really i think you're the stupidest person online... that's really just hilarious! If it's not Boeing, I'm not going! means you like Boeing

  • @ajlazarovits Get a life...

  • @dragongirl66 I believe that to be an old saying dating to WW2 B-17 pilots,as that plane was well armed and quite solid compared to other bombers. Also think about what you said, "If it's NOT Boeing I'm not going"means the opposite of what You said.

  • @dragongirl66 your an idiot

  • @dragongirl66 And you are an idiot...go back to school.

  • awesome power.

  • Thanks for the post King....

Fukky1981 Buyers for the 787 has an option to have the Rolls or GE powerplants installed jackass!!!!Rolls is not the sole engine provider!!!!

Ok Mr. Fly by wire was that not a Scarebus that mowed the forest at the big euro airshow????

  • why dont you just shut the fuck up know one cares what you fucking think.

  • Guys please move this to a PM or I will block both of you.

  • @flyingking12093 do you know how much it costs to gill the fuel tank?

and how much it costs to fly per 1000 miles?

  • @fachy1981 STFU

Stop embarrassing yourself. Like he said, no one cares what your think.

  • well, this idiots comments and his spelling(or lack of spelling) should give us a clue as to his " lack " of intelligence..you spelled " YOUR " WRONG..you idiot...it's YOU'RE..as in YOU ARE..take your stupid uneducated ass back to school...

  • Come on fachy1981, just get a life and stop this innapropiate spamming, man!

  • @09FLHT Rolls is a superior engine though. Rolls Royce builds the only family of large turbofans in the world. Period!

  • first flight of the 787 will be on december 15th. more info on boeings website

  • i guess they are actually preparing fo it.

  • ok, boeing absolutely needs to make the first flight of this aircraft, i mean, come on, alot of companies have been waiting very patiently and some of them have the A380, so really, they should start deliveries before 2011.

  • The test flight is scheduled to be later this month-beginning of January. But.. I'll believe it when I see it.

  • yeah, i know, boeing just keeps on putting more and more delays until this plane will not get delivered at all.

  • Believe it now ? ;)

  • Hell yeah!

  • President Obama should throw the Boeing 747 Airforce one in the garbage, or give it to a homeless person on the road as a new home, LOL. He should order the A380 as the new Airforce one and travel around the world in class.

  • @fachy1981

The are a few reasons why Obama is keeping the old 747.

    1. It's bloody expensive to buy a new Aircraft, let alone kit it out with all the stuff Air Force One has.

    2. Obama want's something american so he's not going to buy the A380.

    3. VC-25 is doing fine at the moment!

  • You guys cant even trust your own GE noisy American engines. That is why you are using RR engines on this piece of crap.

  • This aircraft is a stolen design of A350 and A350 will beat this aircraft. Just wait when the launch time comes.

  • LOL the American don't even trust their third class noisy ge engines. Why are they using Rolls Royce engine? It is because they know British are number one and they can never beat the British.

  • Stolen from the A350? it's reverse airbus decided to make the A350 to an answer of the 787 the 787 was annouced while airbus was still developing the A380 about air force one well that 747 still fly's dusn't it? and if they gonna replace it they will take the 747-8I instead or a 777 no way they gonna take an airbus

  • exactly good comment but well see how it goes in the next few years (p.s i like both dont flush me with stupid childish comments)

  • Wow 14,000 views! Congrats!

  • Thanks. I didn't realize that I had this many views.

  • lol too bad each ticket will b 1000bux

  • lovin' the cockpit.

  • good

  • They also use the Rolls Royce Trent engines on Boeing 777

  • But mostly GE90s

  • Cant wait to hear them roar at full POWER!

  • @bignitro50 I have when it flys over my house its amazing

  • From those angles, the 787 looks like a non-trjet DC-10... cool.

  • boeing is the only airplanes you'll see with rolls royce logo on it.

  • I've seen an Airbus A380 with the rolls-royce logo on it.. What are you trying to prove?

  • Yeah the A380 shows RR on the engines.

  • Sorry sir, but the smelly french airplane maker does make planes with RR (A332, A333, A345, A346, A380). Europeans helping out Europeans right? On top of that, SCAirbus does make aircraft with American Power-plants as well, with PW on the A300, A310, A332 and A333, and half with GE on the A380, and GE on Every single Airbus except the A345 and A346, where the RR is standard. These do not include where RR, PW, and GE are partnered in one way (IAE: RR and PW, CFM: GE and Snecma, EA: GE and PW)

  • i like to hear the Rolls Royce Trent 1000

  • i never noticed boeing used rolls royce engines.. is this for the more recent planes? or did they always use them

  • They have used them for ages

  • Yeah they used them on some of the 747's 757's 767's!!!

  • They use a variety of engines on all their planes. Gives the customers options. As far as I know they have used everything from GE engines to RR engines to PW Engines. GE = General Electric, RR = Rolls Royce, PW = Pratt & Whitney

  • yea the 787 but they did the same with the 757

  • Just from the B747 forward. The B747 however was Boeing's first A/C to have an engine option OTHER than PW. With the exception of the 757, RR engines on Boeings are generally less popular than the PW or the GE option although I think more RR powered 777s are flying than PW 777s if I'm not mistaken, since I think only United, China, India, All Nippon, Asiana, Korean, Japan, and Vietnam are the lone PW customers, but some of them are flying GEs as well since they had no option with the 77W or 77L

  • If Americans are so good, then LOL why are your American cars dying. GM bankrupt. Your auto industry can't even fight the Japanese, Toyota and Hondas are bashing American cars. First defeat the Japanese, then come and talk about competing with Europeans in making aircraft.

  • Uhh Boeing vs Airbus: Airbus has produced less planes combined of all their types than Boeing has Produced in just the ENTIRE 737 family alone. As for cars: who gives a shit? This discussion is about aircraft, not cars. That would be an apples and oranges comparison. Last I checked Toyota doesn't make airplanes and Honda only makes private small jets, something Airbus and Boeing do not do.

  • only one sucessful aircraft Boeing has and that is 737. 737 has more orders comapre to other 7 series. Only poor countries and cheap airlines buy those 737 aircrafts. Airbus has more orders than Boeing. A320 is better than 737 it has fly by wire technology. Boeing aircrafts are not at all fuel efficient compare to Airbus. 747 is out of buisness and outdated. A380 will take over.

  • Uhh Continental, Delta, American, ANA, JAL, SAS, Aeromexico, all full-service airlines and just a handful of the plentiful 737 operators out there, are cheap airlines? The fly-by-wire technology does not make an aircraft any better. 737s operate way more efficiently than A320s with or without the blended winglets and how many used Airbus' are sold? Few. Most of them are in cargo.

  • Remeber that TWA 747 aircraft that broke into 2 pieces after take off. Can't even trust that 747 anymore. Boeing has more crashes than Airbus.
