Actually, according to Luke 1-2, in the context of the timing of the birth of John the Baptist, when the angel appeared to Mary in the sixth month which was our modern day December/January timing, Jesus was really born in the fall during the Feast of Tabernacles. It appears the Jewish people have been the only ones in history who have been properly honoring Jesus on the proper days and not insulting Him with the pagan bunnies, eggs, santa claus and evergreen trees.

The Roman Catholic Church changed the 4th commandment day for the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday (so everyone would worship the sun god). Pope Gregory instituted the Gregorian calendar so we wouldnt identify the solar and lunar eclipses with the Jewish feast days which occurred perfectly in 1948 and 1967.

My teachers do not shave their face. My sabbath is on the last day of the week - and begins Friday at sundown. I prefer the term synogogue over church, as I attend a Messianic Jewish synogogue. Yeshua was Jewish through and through, not Catholic, not Protestant, and not Churchy whatsoever. He observed the biblical feast days as well as Hannukah which is documented in the scriptures. He showed what living out the Torah truly was, but most of his later followers sycretized with the pagans.

A synogogue where we pray and sing in Hebrew so much so that most "Christian" visitors get thrown for a loop. The name Christ comes from the Greek "Christos" meaning annointed. Anyone can be annointed but only one can be YESHUA - hebrew for SALVATION. His real name his mother called him was Yeshua. It's kind of like calling John born and raised in America, Jose. It's the translation, but it's not what his Jewish followers called him. Our scriptures are Tanakh and B'rit Hadasha(New Testament)

The Jewish Bible is the Tenakh (Old Testament) of the 39 books from Genesis to Malachi and the Brit Hadasha (New Testament) of the 27 books from Matthew to Revelation. All Hebrew names are used- Isaiah is Yeshayahu, Jesus is Yeshua, etc. There will be a new Messianic Jewish Bible coming out in 2010 which will do away with the antisemetic chapter headings like "the Jews killed Jesus", etc. In synogogue though there are many copies of all versions to point out the various changes and deletions

Actually, December 25th is the birthday of the sun god Apollo. Revelation 9:11 "They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. Yes you are correct that there are two parts to being a Jew. 1) Being born Jewish, 2) Worshiping the God of the Jewish people.
