Fun video. I had a wildly modified H2 that I roadraced back in the late 70s. The frame would break occasionally and I would weld it back up and take it to the next race. Crazy times. After it sat idle in my garage for a few years I GAVE it away in 1983. Rather wish I would have kept it now.
These 500's with pipes just love to b-bQ when riddin' hard for long periods. I got sick of it and put the STOCK pipes on a mod motor.-Guess what,- the bike is MORE fun to ride.About as fast. Quicker , under 6500rpms and rock solid RELIABLE !!! #100mains-#35pilots and stock needles on #3 or #2 slot. Cheers !!
2,500 rpms doesnt cut with a 2 stroke. You got NO BALLS!! wind that piece of shit 70's throw back right to the bar, you limpwristed scooter-scout. ( 10,000rpm or death)
The Best "Track Day "Vid I have ever seen! When I was in High School, there were the "Two Strokes and "The Four Stroke "Bikes" I had a 1966 Yamaha Big Bear scrambler 305cc Iron cyls etc.. I replaced it with a Yamaha 350cc Ym1 motor [the first 350cc ] The 4 stroke guys would always say "You Guys" need to stay at the back of the pack....Your bikes smell...Our response was"When you guys are faster than we are"..we will [Great vid!]
The 750's definately can make big HP. As youo can see, the track here is pretty short (1.2 miles) I tune my 750 for only about 80 rwhp so I don't overpower the tires. And that's enough to give the new guys a fit because they can't out torque me out of the corners..... :-)
Well, I'm not a real fast guy, just love riding on a track. If I could just get them to only rev to "my" redline, they would never git in the powerband.....LOL!
Oh yes I got it fixed, and there is another vid on all "3" lol. A couple of weeks later I cooked another piston. Maybe it's time to go back to the 750. I have better luck with those......
If you read the description, I had pretty much a dead cylinder, so she wasn't reving out like she should. Plus the way I have it ported, the power peaks at 8,300rpm. I converted it to reed valves, so I don't need a lot of rpm anyway.
Triple are a bunch O fun wien set up right. And yes, you really should of kept it! But, it's never too late to go vintage racing!

I guess it depends on what a "long period" is to you. I didn't have a problem at Daytona, nor the other guys running triples on long tracks.

what do you mean left cylinder?
PrincessKittenz 2 years ago
It is a 3 cylinder motor. The left cylinder was damaged and had very little compression. So it wasnt really doing any work......

At 4:16 you really hit the power band but everywhere else you seem to be under reving.
alpal2002 2 years ago
The motor was sick, one cylinder was down to 35 psi. So I wasn't running hard.

He only drops down a gear if you listen.. at 4:16
