One of the (many) fallacies of this documentary is the idea that population decline equals self-immolation. If the claims about worldwide population decline are true, then the current population decline is, if anything, self-correction. That's a good thing, given the current state of our ecosystem and the scarcity of resources. Decrease the demand on resources (i.e., lower the population), and the cost of living goes down, making it less expensive to raise children again. Self-correcting.
Society is not going to change because the advances we have made, we will live out the futuristic world to our extinction(the movie '9' will be a true story if this keeps going, robots and all).
Someone literally will have to take a jackhammer to 'progress' and take a match to its remains. That is the only way human kind will start over.
Who will risk incurring the world's wrath and inevitably not have a future themselves?
@melnorme1 You didn't payed attention to what is said in this video. Population growth means less expensive prices for products. So it will be more expensive to raise childeren. you should self correct yourself.
what @thoughtsurfer1 said is true this is stupid the these people don't like change and change is all ways happening if the population is so low way don't they gave benefits to women and family's who have children early and stop making people scaring with false facts like global warming and in ten years use something else so they get money
Maybe we're going to have to question whether society needs to be giving quadruple heart bypass surgery to 90 year olds and warehousing people who are so gone they don't even know who they are for decades inside medical prisons called nursing homes.
@videoguy604 I'd like to see you talk this tough when it's your grandfather getting ready to kick the bucket and you are faced with the prospect of putting him out of his misery.
BREED BREED BREED, Wall Street needs your spawn! If you sacrifice all your personal freedom and make yourself an indebted economic slave, you'll make some hedge fund manager enough money to snort in a line off the belly of an escort. I'm sure willing to give up all my freedom for that!
@videoguy604 If you think that's what its all about then i really doubt your interlect, we are overpopulated now but in the future there will be a decline in that due to older people dieing out and less people having kids to replace them, by 2050 society will not be what you see today, oh btw your suggestion to not give healthcare to older people is dispicable, once again i pity you.
These arguments are stupid. Less people being born means less old people in the future. If people had restricted themselves to 2 children over the last 50 years, there would be far less people on social security in the next 20 years. It all evens out. The only measure for population size is the external environment, not internal demographics.
@thoughtsurfer1 Yep, either pay the piper now, or kick the can down the road and pay it even worse later. We're overpopulated and we're either going to face the problem now, or we can deal with it the way they did on Easter Island later.
@videoguy604 No, you retard. That has NOTHING TO DO with what happened to the Rapa Nui civilization. Fcking know-it-all. Maybe you should read a history book correctly before trying to teach others, smart-*ss.
@thoughtsurfer1 Yes because you know better than phd professors from harvard and many other places, truth is the demographers of the world have come to this conclussion for years, its obvious, if i am the 1 grandchild i have 4 grand parents, less people in the work force means less taxes and less people around to take care of the older people, we are in for the end of society if we keep going the way we are.
@nrang1 Again, less workers also mean less consumers and less grand parents in 40 years. The average person will spend more than half of their life as a working adult, the rest of the time as a child and then retiree. That's a constant, whether the population is one billion or one thousand. The gap between the large baby boomers and the lesser baby busters is a temporary problem.
@thoughtsurfer1 I don't agree with your opinion about there being less grandparents, i ll take the word of a phd from harvard than a guy on youtube call me funny if you like, his views are based of study not opinion, if people keep having less kids it means the end of our society its obvious.
@thoughtsurfer1 I ve said it already once, if i am the 1 grandchild i have 4 grand parents, less people in the work force means less taxes and less people around to take care of the older people, the video makes this point over and over, you might want to watch the whole video, we are in for the end of society if we keep going the way we are.
4 children is really what is needed to keep the world running, and at least 2 of those children must be older(meaning the couple must have children before they reach their 30's), in order to continue where the parents left off in taking care of the old(which would soon include their parents).
and to account for disease, violence etc, if something happens to 1 of the 2 kids in a 2 kid family, the world is immediately imbalanced.

@videoguy604 If you think that raising children is slavery, get a vasectomy and fuck off. The rest of us are concerned about the future of our kind.
