To answer a few questions.

The tool used to make the "fissures" is a pallet knife

The magazines stick to the paint, so it reveals layers lower down, the "crease shapes" are caused by the position of the paper, and the pressure applied.

Paper, If you want to try this yourself then watercolour paper, or any other strong paper will work (Paint is wet, thin paper can only take so much)

It's just white paint. He sprayed it into one spot int he groove of the thick piece of paper, therefore concentrating the spraypaint into a stream of paint that drips out of the end.
