One thing about this vid that cheered me up a great deal... You can see his left hand thumb above the fret board.

I was always told that this is unacceptable, that your thumb should press against the back of the fretboard at the very middle - which i'm having trouble with... I always found it easier to place my left hand exactly as he does, and as I'm working on my technique (to keep it in the middle of the fret) i find my thumb and my inner left palm muscles to be sore much faster...

@CherryConcrete Nothing in music or art is unacceptable. John Mayer for example, often uses his thumb to play the 6th string (low E) and/or to mute the 5th. Though it is a good thing too try mastering both playing the way you were told and the way you said is the most comfortable, of which the last is the best option in some instances!

this style is what actually prompted me to learn the guitar but ended up taking finger-style instead because of trying to find a good site to actually learn it from my skill level until i came across this and like, restrung my guitar back to nylons and ended up passing on sleep to learn this, that's how awesome this composition is!

Ok here's some history lesson: Thousands of years before Europe(Spain) Persians were playing music. Flamenco comes from the middle east. When I say middle east I mean the ancient one(With no Arabs in it.) The actual ancestor of Guitar is Tanpour which is oldest instrument in Persian history and thus the world history. It dates back to 3000 B.C. later on it became " Setar " which meant 3 strings. Tar means string in Persian. Arabs have nothing to do with music never mind inventing Guitar!!!

They didn't invent GUITAR they did invent TAR and it is kind of GUITAR :-) tar has 6 strings and so does guitar but GUITAR is not from IRAN :) but the ancistor of it might be from IRAN :) btw I'm Persian so ;)
