  • Un-be-lieveable talent!

  • This music grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go til long after the song is done.

  • id say they have a good buzz going..go stevie.. mick is fukd up.. killer song...this is music.

  • THIS IS R-E-A-L- MUSIC

  • what show? saw them in Omaha in 1980, and this song was the best of the show, and Oh Well lol

  • Mick Fleetwood is the baddest motherfucker!

  • Nothing like them. Been my favorite band for 35 years since I was 5 years old. I can't imagine my life without Fleetwood Mac as a part of it.

  • damn the dark, damn the light!!!

  • 4:58 Mick really needs to take an asprin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • At 4:45, you see Mick visibly say 'YES!' as he plays the drums. Rushing his nut off. Respect.

  • 4.59. What a moment.

  • they are so fucked up on coke its amazing :)

  • @000KR4SH00 i know, but great music!

  • I saw a show from the Tusk Tour and, compared to seeing them recently, that show was an utter disaster. The band was obviously severely coked-up to the point of distraction. The result was a performance that may have owed more to Van Halen style of histrionics than anything. I prefer the band now; they seem more in control of themselves.

  • the crowd's noise is drivin' me nuts..other than that, great performance

  • best bass solo ever!

  • Although I unfortunately must say that the version on the Mirage dvd (1982) sounds far more driven than this one. Also Buckingham's guitar is a bit small in the mix.

    But thanks for uploading this.

  • @Scarlette 536 , that's his custom-designed Rick Turner model. Just look and listen to his hugely energetic fingerpicking style and then say again that you don't take him serious as a guitar player.

  • Fuck Me, it's the F1 theme! ;o)

  • epic bass!!!

  • One too many acid tabs for Mick at 5:00! And why can't anyone here spell BASS properly???

  • One too many acid tabs for Mick at 5:00!

  • @muzaklover78 HaHaHaHa - Coke, more like ;o)

  • What gorgeous bass at 1:29! Both the sound and the line.

  • Masterpiece

  • what a fuckin bass line!!!

  • Goose bumps when the base guitar comes in!

  • Haunting tones :-)

  • If that wasn't cool then I must not know what is.....

  • more than thirty years later they still sound great and are still kickin ass!

  • 8 dislikes?????what the fuck???????????

  • @planetmusicsamos probably from people that were rocking to hard when the base came in and they missed the like key and hit the dislike key instead. they are forgiven ;)

  • @planetmusicsamos ;Great music played in a Fleetwood Tribute for a time ,very moody ,emotional music. I have to second that emotion !

  • Respond to this video... Very cool fretless series bass with flat's

  • sorry you have no taste its a fab song eggheads

  • they are a great band wake up and listen being asleep leads you nowhere

  • Love this version!!!!!

  • Drummers face around 5:02 Pure emotion :')

  • Comment removed

  • @GuitarJames96 Pure Coca Senor. Just kidding.

  • 8 People broke the Chain.

  • Stevie Nick's mouth in 1979 was a very beautiful thing.

  • Mick has always looked like he was at least 50yrs old.Even here.lol

  • fuckin masterpiece

  • If you like music of any genre there are certain songs I cant imagine giving a thumbs down to.This is definitley one of them.Like I said,it shouldnt matter what kind of music you like, this is just good music period.Just my opinion.Take care.

  • fabulous......there is no one like Stevie

  • @tashizzlelizzle Totally agree with you

  • Last show of the Tusk Tour was at Honolulu, and I was there.

I remember John McVie broke the stings on the opening of The Chain, and then started over from the begining. As the last show of the tour, it was a wild night

  • i love fleetwoodmac good memories

  • thank you thank you thank you. thank for the passion in this song and for the audience and its appropriate response of utmost delicouse delight and lust.

  • Lindsy's guitar looks so small. It looks like a toy guitar you get when you're little. It's hard to look at him as a serious guitar player.

  • Best band and most underrated guitar player.

  • @gtootikian I agree. Lindsey Buckingham is one of the great "underated" lead guitarists in rock. He can play anything - and very well. Fleetwood Mac was significantly enhanced when Lindsey/Stevie joined in '75. An awesome guitarist that had a great singing voice and wrote his own fine songs. Then, as the bonus, his beautiful, captivating girlfriend added a star power the band needed. Stevie was the real deal. A serious songwriter whose songs & persona added an ethreal, mystic aura to the Mac.

  • @redletter2008 - And super under rated as a music producer.

  • @Jamy729 Yes. Even Stevie has acknowledged his critical role as her best producer. There was a kinship between Lindsey and Stevie that extended to their music. Stevie has always been a really superb songwriter. However, her songs (certainly in the earlier days) required the right production to make them properly structured without losing the emotional essence that Stevie weaved into everything she wrote. Lindsey did that brilliantly, and with FM, added his own harmonies and killer guitar.

  • @redletter2008 - true. but in all fairness it was sometimes stevie who sparked the idea behind the music and Lindsey took it from there and turned them into masterpieces. Stevie is also a poet in every sense of the word. :))

  • @Jamy729 Poets - priests of nothing. Regarding The Chain, Stevie wrote all of the song's lyrics and should have received more than a simple joint songwriting credit that gives the impression that her contribution was on the same level as Mick's. Silver Springs should have been on Rumours also. If space was the issue, then Lindsey's "Never Going Back Again" and/or Christine's "Oh Daddy" should have been put on the back of singles in order to allow "Springs" to bulk up the LP. Just my opinion.

  • Love this song. Poor Mick looks like he is in pain!

  • The mac at its finest...

  • @FLAMINGCRYSTAL i really like your analogy,thanx!

  • LOL!! Stevie could get more mileage out of a tambourine than anyone I ever saw:)

  • Alembic Series I Fretless with Metal fingerboard O_O, i want it

  • Do you want to hear an incredible cover of the Chain? Google "kick axe the chain".

  • The 60's and 70's were music's heyday. I hate that my generation has to be feed commercialized pop that we get shoveled in our faces everyday.

  • thats animal from the muppets on the drums right?

    ;)

  • @jambamz That animal is a million doller drummer maney time over and one of the very best...why make fun of him?

  • @SuzieGriss Er I think your taking what I said a little to seriously! I am a massive Mac fan, so go and calm the hell down ok!

Just for the record the drummer in the muppets WAS actually based on Mick

  • @jambamz I think your getting confused with keith moon from the who! However mick knows how to entertain! legend!

  • @shotgunjamesgunn89 you sure mate?

always thought it was Mick animal was based on , either way both mad as hatters!

  • @jambamz Your right about that! I think it was keith but i did find it out on wikipedia and we all know how reliable that is lol Either way the muppet character is based on a brilliant drummer.

  • @jambamz HAAAA! I LOVE Mick Fleetwood & he is a GOD on the drums but this comment IS pretty damn funny:)

  • luv dis shit.......only prob is d producer....too much crowd noise!!!!

  • EARGASM!!!!

  • This is damn awesome. RAW

  • Saw them in 88 but this was awesome. thanks for posting

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! Great then and now!

  • first bass riff I learned to play...brilliant

  • @madlad7773 Me too. It's brilliant yet so simple.

  • That sounds interesting!

  • Absolotely Fantastic!!!!!

    P.S. Drummer Rules!!!!

  • Absolotely Fantastic!!!!!

    P.S. Drummer Rules!!!!

  • 4:57... pretty much says it all

  • that crowd is retarded.

  • @nardo363636 Yeah, screaming and cheering because Fleetwood Mac are tearing it up onstage. The crowd going ballistic while the band are at the peak of their career.

They should all be incinerated, quite frankly.

  • @sattfield God your a dick.............you could work all your live and never ever make or come close to the money they all have, why be mean, Oh I get it your very young

Or you wish you were Stevie......................lol lol lol

  • @SuzieGriss If you read my comment properly you'd realise I was actually singing FW's praises.

  • it's sad theat the turmoil tore them apart. but it's good they put their pain on the stage..it would have been a waste if they didn't let their pain become their inspiration

  • this song is soooo bad ass!! I LOVE FLEETWOOD MAC!!!!

  • I doubt any of current bands can recreate that ambiance

  • Stevie Nicks has got the best female voice ever !!!

  • @TriviuM60 its stevie nixx

  • @stargazingtiger No, actually it's Nicks

  • @TriviuM60 ...Sorry there....... Annie Haslom of Renaissance, 5 Octive beauty........cannot be touched

  • @TriviuM60

Go listen to Hope Sanderval or Eva Cassidy..this might change your mind...no insult intended my friend..but FM died with peter green..the chain is a great piece...but they fought each other using songs..

read between the lines. and as i said...no harm intended to you....Jim.

  • @kawapilot but isnt that whats compelling at all, rightttt? love me some hope and eva, but they are a lil boring and safer in their untouchable veneer - TUSK the album itself stomps the shit outa any mazzy. but errything else, i totally second! fighting each other using songs IS why they wrote some fuckin killer SONGS. every great band has fought each other using songs. EVERY great band. peter green FMwere cool, and perhaps better musically to certain tastes, but THIS song STEAMROLLERS old FM.

  • @TriviuM60 nice eye candy too

  • fleetwood mac are like cake. mick fleetwood is the graham cookie base that keeps it all together, christine and john mcvie are the fillings which are a good and necessary part but people don't appreciate that part, lindsey buckingham is the the frosting that is delicious and wonderful in so many ways and stevie nicks is the most tastiest, tangiest, beautiful cherry on top of the world. best cake i've ever had.

  • @squidster29yay love your explanation squid! I love the mac s music but dont no much about the in s and outs of wot happened in the bands unfortunatley. 'Enlighten me

  • @squidster29yay I'm pretty sure you're talking about pie.

  • @thewalkingman sorry my baking sucks.

  • @squidster29yay

If nicks is a cherry, then it's a cherry made of pure cocaine and red food coloring.

  • @whoisthatguy1000 The cocaine part is unfortunate, but she still is one of the best female rock singers of all time. The cocaine has taken it's toll on her voice, but she's clean now and still sounds great. No artificial food coloring included.

  • @squidster29yay....Wowsers! That sounds like it would be YUMMY!

  • @squidster29yay YES. This is possibly the best post i've ever read on here EVER.

  • @hyperfunkd Thank you :)

  • @squidster29yay ... Amazing comment!

  • i love this so much

  • If they weren't so riddled with drugs Stevie and Lindsey would have produced amazingly beautiful and quite likely very talented offspring!! Too bad for them and for us!! Thanks for the great post.

  • @ilovelucy456 Nice thought, but even if they had stayed together I'm not sure that would have happened. She has said many times that she made a deliberate choice of her career over having children and that wouldn't have worked with her lifestyle. She and others have also said that they were suprised he ever settled down and had a family. Also, notice that when he did he was in his 50's. It just seems to me that they would have both been to obsessed with music to start a family together back then

  • @meredithlynnbilhartz I read a biography on the group & it sounds as if whatever they had pretty much ran it's course after the first year or so with FM. While they were Buckingham/Nicks, apparently Stevie was quite insecure about her talent, unaware of it & Lindsey was allowed to dominate the relationship. When Stevie began speaking up & became more confident it didn't go over too well. At one point I believe Linsey went for her throat shouting, "Get this psychotic bitch away from me"-YIKES!

  • @jlalewicz The "Lindsey tirade" you mentioned happened at Christine's house in 1987. The group met Lindsey there to discuss the Tango tour (already booked based on LB's agreement to tour for 10 weeks), only to have Buckingham announce that he was leaving the group immediately. Stevie was irate and went after Lindsey. She was furious that he would leave them right after committing to the tour. Lindsey also physically assaulted Stevie onstage during the Tusk tour. He mocked/kicked her while wasted

  • Sublime.

What an amazing merging of talents - and a destructive dynamic that produced such wonderful music.

    God bless Fleetwood Mac.

  • Love this track

  • FUCK!!!!

  • Stevie's eyes at 1:46 says it all.... catch the Mac at the start of the tour before she gets sick of touring and shows she's having to go through the motions... to this day that's true when she tours with them... fortunately it's Stevie Nicks <3

  • stevie's hair looks like an atomic bomb and the band are one. this is like their anthem.

  • bang a gong

  • MASTERS of MUSIC

  • 7 'Dislikes'? What song were they listening to? Only 332 'Likes'? That's pathetic.

(Out of 201,817 views on Aug. 10, 2010.)

Awesome song, regardless of the response.

  • Back then I thought it was so cool, but doesn't Mick Fleetwood look like the Mad Monk Rasputin? I knew they were all whacked out on drugs back then, but I loved and still love their music. You could see/feel the tension between Stevie and Lindsey, as well as Christine McVee and her then husband. Does this mean tension/stress makes for good music?

  • O que é bom....remains forever! Bom naquela época, excelente hoje...Vcs são demais!

  • Mick looks like he's about to have a heart attack lol. What a legend!!

  • A great live version i did not know lindsey was such great guitarist right up there with Don Felder of the Eagles .

  • Oh yeah, Stevie broke up with Lindsey in 1976

  • John McVie told Lindsey "I think it's time for you to leave" & stated in interviews that he meant leave the house, not the band! But that is when Lindsey left, breaking the chain. Lindsey was the one whose anger was out of control, since he was strangling her by that point, literally, but Stevie has since stated that no one ever loved her like Lindsey did. This I get from live & written interviews. Awesome band!

  • Stevie left Lindsey, not the other way around. Obviously we don't know the dynamics of their relationship, I think fame took it's toll, Stevie wrote "Landslide" about their relationship before this song, and Lindsey wrote "Go Your Own Way" about her, she was pissed because of the line "shacking up is all u want to do" & wanted it taken out of the song. At some point Lindsey kicked her on stage-they finally got into it at John McVie's house when Lindsey attacked her verabally & physically

  • Stevie looks and sounds so witchy at 3:29! I love it!!

  • Christine McVie Broke The Chain

  • Now wants to go Motor Racing....

  • lindsey is giving it hell aint he!?

  • Lindsey is a guitar god

  • love this concert

  • Sweet bass tone!!!!!!

  • Holy smokes...4:59-5:04: "FLEETWOOD ANGRY! FLEETWOOD SMASH!" He's playin' those drums like he hates 'em.

  • Mick's face at 5:00 Whoa! Is that passion, drugs, concentration, energy...or all of the above?

  • aww man micks face lmao, ace performance

  • stevie makes me want to stand up and beg for buttermilk

  • i thought i was the only one that was destracted by this song driving !!! LOL!!

  • kick ass....love the guitar solo

  • stevie nicks. so hot. want to touch the hiney.

  • Amazing

  • im looking for the original version of fleetwood mac and USC marching band Tusk can someone help me

  • awesome

  • After all these years from back in my hippie daze, I STILL LUV STEVIE!!!

  • can never get tired of John's bass in this song !!!

  • LINDSAY'S THE MAN

  • @stoenyce jesus fucking christ you retard learn how to spell. It's LINDSEY not LINDSAY

  • @sghtes take it easy fan of LINDSAY

  • check

  • great record havent see the tusk documentry for ages going to start a mad search for the dvd thanks again

  • Chain keep us Together......

  • This is a f**ken awesome performance

  • Actually, during the Rumors sessions they had the instrumental outro finished and on tape... but didn't know what to do with it. Stevie then suggested an angry, half finished song of hers from way back. Fucking Magic.

  • this is one of my favorites, the solo is something rabid

  • bass is WAY up to high, cant hardly hear lindsey!!! RUINED

  • lol stevie on the tambourine, its a shame that you cant hear it!!! but the chain is a very good song, thanks for posting!

  • really good insight to the band and the song, flamingcrystal. thanks, I enjoyed it.

  • good band. they broke up because they all started sleeping with each other. nicks and fleetwood orchestrated the break up of the band which was a shame

  • @leeisagod : Well they are still together in 2010. And they never have officially broken up, Lindsey left in 88, Stevie in 91, everybody back in 1997, Christine retired in 98...never break ups, just lineup changes

  • tremendous voice effects in this song but the boss is micke his face gestures priceless

  • Still the BBC F1 song after 17 years +

  • The look on Stevies face at 1:50 says it all! What a shame!!! Awsome song and video. Thanks for sharing

  • @dave5tesb yeah its the 'Come to bed eyes' gerrard butler was talking about on jimmy kimmel

  • amazing outro..

  • this song never hit number 1

  • wtf

  • GUITAR SOLO IS KILLER

  • Wow, I never realized how smoking hot Stevie Nicks was....makes me wish I was born in her era...

  • The best Fleetwood Mac song ever performed live. IMO. Especially on "The Dance" tour in 1997. I love the version that's on that concert DVD.

  • EVERY TIME i listen to this, sets my hair on end

  • Not only a great drummer, but he helped arnie in the running man!

  • do you think the F1 guys lisyen to this before a race? Brits will et this lol
