Thanks for the review, DetroitBORG-- there's not that many in-depth videos around. I don't know specs-wise, but I can think of at least one reason why this is better than an iPod-- NO ITUNES!!! (also it has a micro-sd slot). Definitely gonna take a loook.

Cmon all you apple fanboys this is better than the ipod touch

1. 5 inch screen wxvga

Not as good as the ipod touch but still super clear

2. The proccesor is alot better its 1 ghz and can be overclicked to 2 ghz which would make it 1.2 ghz more powerful than ipod touch and the ram is double that of the ipod touch

3. android market is catching up with apps and by next year they would be the same and plus no one wull download everysingle app so its useles al the big names have android app

@DetroitBORG specs has nothing to do with the fact that the Player can't be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich. Ice Cream Sandwich does not need high requirements and the Player is capable of running ICS. Its only because Samsung is unwilling to provide the upgrade or the device is not popular enough to get the upgrade. Devs can give this phone an upgrade so research first before making assumptions about devices other than Apple's.

@guitarplayeryzz I haven't done it myself, but I've read reviews of other people being able to connect it to a Mac and not having any problems. I would imagine all you have to do for the music is drag and drop. I had the chance to mess around with the iTouch 4th Gen and honestly, the Samsung screen was just as good. The colors in the Samsung are more crisp than in the iTouch, at least to me. And the screen is SO much bigger... and the camera kicks butt. I love the thing.

@guitarplayeryzz I prefer the iPod Touch 4G, iOS 5 has better features and usability, not to mention the Apple ecosystem (apps, music, movies, books, etc.) is still much better than what Google is offering. The other issue is that this device is stuck on Gingerbread because of its specs. In terms of hardware, the iPod touch has a smaller, but much higher resolution screen and can film at 720p, unlike the Samsung. You can sync iTunes content using DoubleTwist on a Mac.

Also too, Samsung may be having a lot of ads and trying to really sell their products, but that's the difference. Apple doesn't hardly have to advertise to get people to buy their stuff because it's so good. it just goes without saying that Apple is definitely #1 right now, and will be for quite a while. They may be more subtle, but def are more popular. :)

I have own both a iPod touch and a Samsung galaxy player. In my opinion I have found Android more fun and it dousnt get boring. Ios however is more stable. So when it comes down to it you can go on and on about pros and cons. Just go with what you feel. And inbox me if you are trying to choose between the two and have question s about them.

why do these apple oponents always go half ass on their products. like the zune hd, i had one before it started failing, it was almost perfect, i loved it. the screen was beautiful and the ui was to die for (better than wp7). but the performance was terrible and microsoft never really updated it. and this galaxy player is another one, an ok camera, terrible screen but it had a lot of potential at the beginning which samsung never fulfilled.
