In my mind that space over the mantle is horizontal and you have a vertical piece leaning on the wall. Now, I thought also maybe because that whole wall (that the fireplace and mantle are on) is vertical, so that's why you chose the vertical art piece. Is this one of those times that it is accepted both ways because you can look at it both ways?? :)
I'm going to try this in my home. I like how you grouped smaller pieces to make the size you really needed. Then in the living room you actually created a wide enough piece that you wanted. Good eye @rprmlr772, ... life is like decorating.... just create a distraction or cover a flaw with something better..... lol, I covered the "son walking in back ground" problem with a little annotation. This created not only a camouflage, it served a more important purpose... encourage to viewer to leave a comment. Which you did!!! Good job rprmlr772, you walked right into it... Maybe I should purposefully do this on all my vids ... make it a game like "where's Waldo" or something LOL ...RR

I didn't even notice and then had to rewind a few times before I saw the blur - phew moves fast lol - I like your ideas by the way. not full of clutter etc. your choice of paint on the wall helps a lot - would like to see what you can do with white walls as I tend to rent and painting the white walls is not an option :(
I utilized the method of using multiple pieces of art to fill a large space in my bedroom. I honestly couldn't afford one large piece of original work so this idea really helped. I believe I saw it in one of the rooms on your website and thought it was a great idea. I think your work is great.

My ex-boyfriend's new wife raided every art gallery in the city and put it on the walls of his house.
She MUST have raided every gallery, b/c there wasn't even an inch of wall remaining for all the pictures on it.
