I was introduced to sonnys music by a guy I was working with on a building site 30 years ago ...he tried to play harmonica. So I bought one ... and then another in a different key and then another . I jam on my cheap guitar . Love it !!!!!!!!!!
The worst thing about this is that Sonny uses like two holes of his harmonica most of the time, and still manages to make it sound more colorful than stuff played on chromatic harmonicas with 10.000 holes. This is so discouraging for a beginner, haha. Sonny's the best.
the blues is all about trying to have a good time on all our troubles......we all have alot more in common than we think so dont hate and just enjoy tese amazing musicians
sonny and browny=best blues duo ever. Sonny is still one of the greatest hapr players out there and browny...damn some of that stuff he's doing is very and i mean very difficult but he makes it look easy
@LJ476 Lots of blind people wear glasses, especially if some accident made them blind. Their eyes may not work, but they are still able to feel pain in bright light. Plus, some people look frightening (scars, burns, that kind of thing), so they wear glasses to help other people feel more comfortable around them.
@AveRajala yea exactly the kind of people strarted playing blues as the one introducing this video. condescending motherfucker who couldn't give a shit
@metyuewb so...after reading your channels comments i realize that your probably the kind of person that has to argue with someone to combat the over bearing self hate that constantly brews within.. so ima go ahead and not waste my time..
For some reason I felt the need to look up Sonny Terry and what do you know, the time he mentions in this song is 5 o clock in the morning, I am typing this comment at 5:41 AM. What the heck. Sonny you are the god of blues harp.
uhhhmmm .....anyone interested in the roots of rock and roll, and isnt moved by Sonny's performance here, is as blind as Sonny was supposed to be.....
they say sonny was blind as a bat, and that it was ironic he wore the eyeglasses instead of sunglasses like the other blind artists... but did anyone else notice the wrist watch on his arm? lol
the movie version of what?.. leave this as it is dude.. dont fuck it up and have some actor take credit for something they couldent have drempt themselves.. dont fuckin complain.. a movie would only undermind what this is as is eh..

I discovered Sonny & Brownie's music about 10 years ago. They have changed my Taste of Blues music ever since. The Magic they both shared together was like no other duo ever.
I only wish that they were still here today making THIER Blues Music.
Now I like Radiohead an' all the rest of it but don't it just lift you to see guys enjoying their work like these two are. The music's damn good too !!!
I had seen Johnny Musslewhite & Taj Mahal back in the late '60s, but I never heard these guys. Thanks to the ever famous Ray Davies for mentioning Sonny within a quote: "Our repertoire consisted of rhythm and blues, sort of country rhythm and blues, Sonny Terry things". I'm loving it!
im just starting to get into blues and harmonica and this is beautiful!!!

wasn't sonny terry blind? does anybody know why he used to wear glasses?
LJ476 11 months ago
@LJ476 He was 90% blind,he saw shadows and very little so the glasses helped all they could.

Sonny wasn't blind, but nearly so due to childhood accident. He could see enough to get around without a cane. That's probably a normal wristwatch.
