  • Oops..-3

  • You can feel the tension and passion building up between the two! Favorite scene by far!!!! -3

  • The best version ever.

  • sweeeet

  • I just LOVE this part. Love Darcy's friendly small talk with the Gardiners, the way he is, as Auntie says, "All ease and friendliness." And of course he's beyond hot! LOL I also love the music in the last few minutes from when they're standing at the lake until the end. It closes out the scene- and episode- perfectly.

  • Oups, he neeed to put dry clothes on :-).

  • 12 ppl dont understand mr darcy isn't proud he just doesn't go messing around like other men! collin firth is one sexy beast!!

i dont care what anyone says about the keira knightly version or any other version for that matter! this was and will always be the best! unlike the film i can say without a shadow of a doubt i enjoyed this from beginning right through to the end! 6 hours well spent!! :D

and when they bumped in2 each other i can't see how the moment could be done any better! :)

  • she looked back! she looked back!!

  • i did not except to see you... *good gracious why are his clothes, like, see-through?* sir.

And your parents are in good health?

    Yes i thank you sir.

Ten seconds later... And you parents are in good health?... and all your sisters?

*oh no, what have i done to the poor man?*

  • That awkward moment when you meet Mr. Darcy and he's dripping wet....

  • Oh my, he is in his Undies??

Of course if you ever rode a horse hard on a hot day for any real lengtht of time your ass and legs get nasty sweaty.

  • Oh my, he is in his Undies??

  • His version of a cold shower?!.. :P

  • Darcy starting a conversation !!!

  • priceless in 5:06 when Lizzy tell she can't imagine the cause of his transformation and her aunt tell her "Can you not?"

  • Wait what did wicome do that was so bad I think I missed it?

  • I really like the parting scene at the end. Everyone was smiling and nodding politely, and Mr. Darcy was gallant and gracious.

  • You could just drown in those beautiful brown eyes. The colour of the darkest chocolate Mmmmm. Colin Firth is the sexiest man alive!

  • lizzie's polite thoughts on darcy's state of dress: "Permission to freak out!!!"

  • That look of acute pain on Darcy's face at 7.04 is quite something.

  • Mr. Darcy ♥

  • aw! Mr. Darcy making conversation! He has been practicing! :3

  • I love Elizabeth's aunt, she's so shrewd! All those little sideways glances just tell you everything that she knows.

  • @cricketsong4045 Yes! Actually I really like both the Gardiners; my fave couple in this story (after Lizzie and Darcy of course). They're so ideal; like a model for all the young Bennet girls and their husbands to follow for a happy life...

  • Spoken words: "But your good opinion is rarely bestowed, and therefore more worth the earning." Unspoken words: Can I have it, please?

  • love jennifer's voice..

  • Darcy looks AMAZING in this part of the series. He is SO in love with Elizabeth. Lovely to see his love coming through at this point. Nice to know Colin and Jennifer were dating during the production also. They had a real affection for one another.

  • poate cea mai frumoasa secventa din film

  • it´s the 2nd time i´m watching it (the last time was three days ago ;) )

  • Many actors can play being heartbroken. But Colin Firth's heartbroken face here is just amazing! My eyes swell up every time I see it.

  • cute!

  • I think it´s colin´s desperate look that drives us crazy...

  • I love her reaction!

  • I wonder if they let Firth keep that painting at 0:14... It would've been a waste not to. I know I wouldn't mind keeping it...

  • @Sblessings

In January, 2009, the painting was auctioned at Bonham's for 12,000 pounds. The painting was accompanied with a signed letter from Colin Firth as to its use in this production. Can you imagine that hanging in your livingroom?

  • @rasta13820 Hahaha!! Well, I think it would be a local atraction!!! I would start a museum of Pride and Prejudice items, been that painting the main thing... Boy! Talking about day dreaming...

  • @rasta13820 Ain't that something?! Hahaha!! Well, I think it would be a local atraction!!! I could start a museum of Pride and Prejudice items, been that painting the main thing... Boy! Talking about day dreaming...

  • Thank God they didn't cut the lake scene<3

  • the look at 2:05 screams "DAMMIT DARCY HOW I WOULD LIKE TO JUMP THAT SEXY BODY OF YOURS!!!!!!!!" XD

  • Lizzie is beautiful :)

  • I just love the way he just burst from his house like "WHERE IS SHE!" and probably mentally berating himself "WHY! Why did i have to jump in that pond and get all wet and look all sexy! Damn me!" and that whole "You are not leaving." thats not a question Lizzie its a demand xD Mr.Darcy you are the best ever.

  • It's nice to have a groom suddenly appear to take your horse back for you. There must have been one behind every tree.

  • so so hot....mr darcy....im melting

  • I love the lonely longing look he gives at the end. So beautiful and tender.

  • Awwwhh I love when she looks back!

  • SHe looked back, that means she likes him now.

  • ..MELT!..

  • Love Lizzy's Aunt Gardner

  • Miss Ehle's costume -- sun passes through it . Goodness, Darcy must've seen that too.

  • What Elizabeth CHOSE to stay:

"I did not expect to see you, sir"

    What Eizabeth SHOULD'VE said:

"I did not expect to see you (or your chest through your shirt, but damn, you look fine!)"

  • "your good opinion is rarely bestowed and therefore more worth the earning" AHHHH makes me weak at the knees every time. Damn these charming English men! haha

  • Colin Firth IS mr darcy!!!

  • Darcy looks soooooooo good in this scene! Love that color on him. So handsome.

  • OH COLIN!

    THE BEST DARCY EVER!

  • This scene is just PERFECTLY acted... the reactions of the two of them.. and of course.. Colin's looks.. <3

I think any version will ever replace that one.. it will always be the best!

  • gosh! Mr. Darcy is just so precious

  • ''Your parents are in good health?'' 2 minutes later ''Your parents are in good health?'' *Akwaaarrdd* :P

  • colin can't move his arms in his suit!! he can't fold his elbow!!

  • I love the look on Lizzy's face @ 1:52 when she sees him improperly.. she's like "OMG HOW EMBARRASSING!!" But yet so steamy =)

  • THE LAST PART STARTING AT 7:00 I CAN'T HELP IT BUT IT MAKES ME FEEL SO SAD... LIKE PLEASE DON'T LEAVE HER ALL ALONE MS BENNETT, BIG HOUSE, BIG PROPERTY BUT NO ONE TO SHARE IT ALL WITH... IT MADE MR DARCY LOOK LONESOME AND VERY INNOCENT... I DIED

  • LOL 4:42 LIZZY THINKING: WHO THE HECK IS THIS? IS THIS THE SAME MAN? LMAO

  • we're watching this in English Literature class, and damn, I love that scene when they meet each other and Daracy's not fully clothed!

  • **GASP!** we must leave here at once!

    haha, i love her reaction

  • i always freak out when they meet in the garden like if it was the most exciting thing in the world hahaha

  • Lizzy doesn't know where to look because Mr Darcy has on only shirt, pants and boots :D seems that Lizzy is a bit shy though she is generally not. They just look so cute together<3

  • i wonder how dirty that water is? I bet it stinks pretty bad.

  • Poor Darcy, he didnt even realise he's asked after her parents already. Sight of her turned his mind into mush.

  • Poor Lizzy... she seems nearly hysterical...

  • What does he say at 2:26 and what is Lizzies reply? Could anyone help me? I don`t quite understand it or its meaning...

  • @Fadensonnen

Mr. Darcy: "And where are you staying?"

Lizzie: "At the inn at Lampton."

Mr. Darcy: "Ah yes of course..."

  • @yoshi09

Thank you so much! I have been wondering for a while and never would have guessed that...

  • Interesting fact. Jennifer Ehle & Colin Firth were reunited in the film 'The King's Speech' for which Firth won the acting Oscar. She played the wife of Lionel Logue.

  • @pelucca2 Oh my God you're right! I love both movies and I can't believe I never made that connection!

  • Mr. Darcy! GRRRRRR lol

  • The pike in his lake would have killed off all the other fish.

  • His hair is soooooo gorgeous in this.

  • He is very interested in her parent's health, isn't he?

  • I love how he doesnt quite let go of her hand as he helps her into the carriage...

  • It should be illegal to be THAT sexy.

  • @MitholX No! Then they'd lock him away and we wouldn't get to drool over him anymore! Make it legal!

  • @hothotheat3000 Lol, but it's dangerous. I'm feeling faint even as we speak.... xD

  • The aunt and uncles reaction to Lizzy and Darcy is great, they know that they both like each other and their like leave them be, give them space we'll walk a few feet behind. we won't make it obvious :)

Darcy: I hope your not displeased with Pemberley?

Translation: Do you like the house, you can have it? As long as i can have you.

  • @sancgate101 yes.. maJOR BLUSH... MOVIES, BOOKS, AND STORIESX THIS GOOD MAKE THE REST LOOK SOOO BAD... LOL (FAINT) MY NUMBER ONE DRAMA

  • i thought it was cute how he asked her questions twice lol

  • @TiaFaeLovey LOL YES... LIKE HE REALLY CARES ABOUT HER ANNOYING FAMILY... THIS IS ACTUALLY THE THIRD TIME INTHE SERIEWS HE ASKS HER THAT!!! WHEN THE MET AT THE COLLINS' HE ASKEd THE EXact question while very nervous... LOVE SICK ARROGANT PUP... XD

  • Yummie Colin firth

  • Mr Darcy is acting like a boy caught with his Playboy!

  • oooh i hate youtube for deliting some parts of this. i love the acting, this is my first time watching the series and i repeated this scene three times , they do play their characters wonderfully. I like the book but now i'm loving it even more. This and Jane Eyre, which is my fav, are fantastic romantic/ idealistic novels.. Mr Rochester and Mr Darcy "swoons" i´d die happy if i had either of them ^^ btw the house is mesmerizing, i wish i could see a place like that even once in my life.

  • @puccapinguina Lol, that house is not half an hour from where I live. Lyme Hall. My dog has swam in Mr Darcy's Lake.

  • @Elriaen Then you're soooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky and your dog too hahaha. Well, i will have to be contented with what i've got...i. e. computer, internet, youtube and watching from afar u.u

  • @Elriaen lucky you!

  • hahaha, I love at 6:20 when they both put their arms behind their backs! Their so alike! too cute!

  • Awuhh... Darcy's awkwardness is so adorable. :D

Asking after her family's health twice. <3

  • Hihi, how shock would girls be at that time when they ran into a (in their opinion) barely dressed man.

  • i love this movie.. but the 2005 is my fav.... darcy was way way hotter in 2005 film... lol..

  • @hazeena562 "hotter"!?! Young lady, you need a cold shower.

  • @mc0558 I support you. The 2005nis a hollyweood rubbish version that cannot even dare compare to this one. No other Darcy/Elizabeth like from this BBC series. The 2005 were...so american.

  • @CeruleanFairy although i agree with you - no one in my mind could ever top colin firth as darcy - jennifer ehle is american, kiera knightley is british. i know that matthew macfayden is not american (whether he is british i am less certain of -irish, maybe?) this production has the great fortune of being a six hour rendition of austen's masterpeice, but it is so brilliant, no other could hold a candle.

  • @MrsImogen she's british american though and grew up in both the uk and the states. the point i think ceruleanairy was trying to make is that the production was stylized in a quite american way or rather was adapted more to suit american tastes.

  • @mc0558 hahaaaa i guess i do.. and young? lol im 25... im not 10.. lol

  • @hazeena562 Young lady, remember this, it is better to be a spinster than to marry the wrong person. The guide to whether or not a person is suitable as a life partner, is not merely sexual attaction, but his character and personality. Does he make you laugh? Can you respect him and do you feel deeply about him? In other words do you love him completely as he is, not as "you are going to remake him". And you need a father like me whom he must ask and who will make clear to him what is expected.

  • @mc0558 WTH? LOL OK UR TOO MUCH... SWEETIE.. LOL BUT I DO LIKE WHAT U WROTE... VERY NICE...

  • at 6:36 he looks like he just wants to sweep her in his arms with one passionate gesture!! haha

  • I don't understand how Lizzie and her Aunt and Uncle can just visit someone's house and be taken on a trip inside. Can someone explain that to me,or was it normal those days?

  • @nyambush11 yeah i make me that question too, i was like. what do they think, they think it's a museum or what??

  • @wichofan4ever Hi, i'm not sure if anyone answered your question yet but i just wanted to let you kow that in the book they tell you that certain parts of his house is open for public viewing. his house is very grand and is known to have beautful architecture so people come to see it.

  • @nyambush11 Oftentimes, in those days, particularly grand houses actually had portions open for public viewing. There was staff on hand to give tours, much like a museum has docents, and most of the house was kept private for the family.

  • apart from the obvious eye-candy moment, I love the pond dive and what it tells us about Mr. Darcy's personality. At unguarded moments, when he does not feel the need to be the serious-minded, heir of the Darcy dignity and name and master of Pemberly, he is unassuming, spontaneous and a lover of the simple pleasures of life.

  • That pond looks fungi infested, why would anyone want to take a dip in it?

  • @07Janina07 Well if anyone is as much in love and pain as he is, they would probably take a dip into mud as well! :)

  • "are your parents in health" was main question of awkward conversations back than.

    :))))

  • lizzie's looking back at the end!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhh.....how romantic

  • Triumphant script from Wales.

  • perhaps you should take your aunts advice and practice

    I think its working

  • the pivotal moment!!!

  • I know that feeling that Mr Darcy had when he was like, "Crap, this probably my last chance."

  • Any other men who love this series???

  • @alexlee7773 Yes, I certainly do. I am a bit of a sucker for a romantic story as long as it is well written/told, and the "romance" is not its sole focus. In the case of P&P I think I identify with Darcy in part (unfortunately not with the "rich, tall & good looking" part!).

This series is brilliantly written and acted. Jennifer Ehle is magnificent.

  • Mr Darcy's sweet awkward behaviour throughout the vid is just amusing!!! You can see how he has difficulty in staying calm and not make his feelings clear!:)

  • I love how Darcy asks about Lizzy's parents twice. :D

He's so nervous. It's so amusing.

  • colin firth looks so exactly as i would have imagined mr. darcy :)

  • wooooooo lake scene :))

  • I can just imagine what Mr. Darcy is thinking when he was walking away to go hurry and get dressed xD

  • Diving scene :)

  • this and the 6 th episode is my absoluteeee faveoritee of all of them(:

  • 1 of my favs

  • Poor Darcy must have broken every speed record known to man in order to get fully dressed and catch Lizzy before she made it to the carriage.

  • @missilepatriots lol so true,,,

  • @missilepatriots And the way he tore out of the house! I thought he was going to fall.

  • @missilepatriots Perhaps 6.3 times the speed of gossip?

  • @missilepatriots lol yeah. at least in the book it made more sense: Lizzy and her relatives went to view the grounds and Darcy saw them there again. :)

  • @missilepatriots i was just wondering about that, and you're very right :) but then again she was about to leave i suppose he knew her a little to know to act fast

  • @missilepatriots or lizzy and the gardiners could have been at the painting for a long itme

  • @missilepatriots It takes a long time to harness up 2 horses and a prepare a buggy, long enough to get ready anyway. He probably could've fit in time to brush his teeth and play some call of duty.

  • i don't know why but i still think that the scene was emotionally better portrayed in the 2005 version.

  • what happened before this?

  • part 5 is missing :(

  • I love how he's so flustered, and she's so at loss and the awkwardness!!!! AAAAH!!! You can practically taste it!!!!

  • I love Lizzie's little hissy fit. :L

  • He's like a dog eager to see his/her master/mistress after a long day of absence :P

  • oh just kiss him already

  • this seen is soooo good i love it. The only thing that would have made it better is if Mr. Darcy had taken off his shirt. lol i cant stop laughting at the thought.

  • Mr Darcy has made it impossible for me to find a real man in the real world....lol...no one seems to live up to him

  • Lizzie just can't help the little dig "my sister Jane stayed at their house in cheapside when she was lately in London.." She loves him yes but she just isn't sure she can forgive him ...yet

  • ok, there was really no need for the whole lake part...and my austen lover side kind of hated it, but my colin lover side enjoyed it very much :) which side should i listen to?

  • @BubblegumPopMusic13 Definately the Colin lover side. In the end, the scene is there so you may as well enjoy it wholeheartedly.

  • this scene would have been better if

mr darcy had released the hounds to chase mr gardner hither and yon in comical fast motion

  • this is the best scene.... ive watched it so many times and i love it

  • Go on! Take those clothes off ;] No, no, all of them ;D

  • 3:15 "He inquired after my parents and..." -inquired after my parents again :)

love how he doesn't know what to say and keeps repeating himself

  • after darcy's swim, lizzy is finally able to confirm the accuracy of the big formal painting - yes, he is well endowed and wears his attributes on the right side. see for yourselves 0:14

  • @rasta13820 wow.... either u have a lot of time or a 56" monitor... lol

  • When I watch this I don't feel like it's filmed just recently. This version perfectly captures the time period that I think they're the exact characters from the book.

  • it`s like mr. darcy and lizzie are really meant for each other. destiny or fate keeps on bringing them together. :)

  • At :48 he seems to be hoping to wash away his so far unrequited feelings.

  • i just wanna know wen she finally tells him she loves him and tghey spend the rest of eternity together

  • i love the scene where lizzie looks back at mr. darcy! BIG SMILE! ahahaha! :)))

  • haha, look at how he's hurrying to see her before she leave. Everyone's a fool in love, even Mr.Darcy :))

  • Its so sweet how he is so desperate to do anything for Lizzee and so he changes his gestures to her aunt and uncle - helping them out :) awwww teary :')

  • ``I am almost afraid of asking what you thought of me, when we met at Pemberley. You blamed me for coming?''

``My object then,'' replied Darcy, ``was to shew you, by every civility in my power, that I was not so mean as to resent the past; and I hoped to obtain your forgiveness, to lessen your ill opinion, by letting you see that your reproofs had been attended to. How soon any other wishes introduced themselves I can hardly tell, but I believe in about half an hour after I had seen you.''

  • This is one of my favorite scene...

  • I want a Mr. Darcy! XD

  • @sparklydiamondring I want a Mr. Darcy too! XD

  • Fate always brings them together unexpectedly.
