  • I still remember the 1999 RCO St. Matthew Passion. Your beautiful, beautiful solo play...

  • Alex, we miss you in Amsterdam...

  • Alex, you are great!

  • How does one go from the Charleston Symphony to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and then the Indianapolis Symphony?

  • @ThaSchwab How? Just do like Alexander, I guess :). He has been playing at the highest level. In a certain way every other orchestra would have been somewhat of a step down. I think music and the passion for it comes from the inside, and he'll always play briliantly himself, in whatever orchestra he's in. As long as he's just enjoying working with the other members of the orchestra. Just my humble opinon, of course.

  • @visse264

I don't mean offense to the ISO, but I can say that the move was probably involving money. It's widely known that international orchestras (at least not in North America) pay their musicians much less than here. London Symphony musicians in England make about as much as ... Syracuse Symphony musicians here. Maybe a bit more.

  • @ThaSchwab It might have been 'widely known', I wasn't really aware of that. Seriously. Nevertheless, I can't really blame him for that. I think there are, for example, soccer players much less unique in their profession then Alexander is in his, who get paid excessively. I wish him all the best, and the (corresponding) bucks...
