God does this bring back memories. Back in the early sixties we used to mount the motor 2 1/5 hp Briggs on a flat plate on a 24" frame. (No horizontal shaf lawn more within 10 miles was safe)! Use 20 inch wheels. Tig Weld the rear wheel sprocket to lock with a jack shaft. Built a bunch of em. Most modern kids have no clue. They just have mommy buy them a nifty engineered toy. Was much more fun to build em. Helmet??? what was that!!! I'm still alive at 65!
most weed whackers are 2-strokes, alot louder (some of them) and they dont make as much torque as a 4-stroke. also weed whacker motors are usualy under 50cc, so its tiny. if ur using one of those for a project i would go with the 4-stroke lawnmower engine.
Awesome! Fucking awesome!

is there any advantage of using a lawnmower engine over a weedeater for a bike besides power? i mean the float could get messed up D:.
randomguy9898 3 years ago
no theres no advantages besides power and the fact that it sounds better on a chopper.. Weedwacker engine's are just really small..
