WOW! I am a physician in one of the most conservative states and in a very poor city. I have cared for thousands of children and never do I see any of this happen. All kids can get the best cancer care in the world at a state funded research hospital so that if we can't care for the child locally we have great options. We can't take money from anyone if they can't pay medical bills and many cases are written off. LIES NEVER MAKE GOOD POLICY.
Health Care should be a state issue not a Federal one. In Arkansas all of our citizens that are under 18 have free health care. It's called "Arkids first". I am sorry you have MS. I am trying hard to get HC coverage for everyone in this country. Fortunately, I have not needed it. I just know of enough young adults you have become disabled or died because they could not afford healthcare as an uninsured person. I also have had relatives become seriously ill and it ended their working lives and their HC coverage. They only wish they were covered by Medicare. One of them I know will not live to ever be covered by it.

WOW! I am a physician in one of the most conservative states and in a very poor city. I have cared for thousands of children and never do I see any of this happen. All kids can get the best cancer care in the world at a state funded research hospital so that if we can't care for the child locally we have great options. Health Care should be a state issue not a Federal one. In Arkansas all of our citizens that are under 18 have free health care. It's called "Arkids first". I shouldn't haft to pay taxes to insure people in other states. To me that's almost as bad as paying for peoples health insurance in other countries.

Please do not tell me the Srs "have paid for it". Most Srs receive back far more than they pd into it due largely to adv. medicine that allows them to live longer. The "Baby Boomers" now retiring are also considered more unhealthy than prior generations due to their lifestyle.

I am sorry you have MS. I am trying hard to get HC coverage for everyone in this country. Fortunately, I have not needed it. I just know of enough young adults you have become disabled or died because they could not afford healthcare as an uninsured person. I also have had relatives become seriously ill and it ended their working lives and their HC coverage. They only wish they were covered by Medicare. One of them I know will not live to ever be covered by it.

Are you referring to the parents whose kids are in public schools (or the parents who may be attending a public univ, themselves)?
