  • Best non Free (findable affordable) = Dimension pro from cakewalk

  • Windows XP SP3. And the installer doesn't work. It keeps bickering about needing Service Pack 2; but it's 3. Why don't you just repack the thing with Inno Setup (search through Google for it, it's a free installer)? Saves a lot of hassle.

  • why there's no presets

  • how do you load the samples?

  • does someone know how to get this to work in windows7?

  • @BezemerPeter I thought it works in win7. Maybe try to run it in WinXP compatibility mode?

  • @BezemerPeter It worked on windows 7 for me but I didnt like the plugin it self

  • @djromchik thanks

  • @BezemerPeter Om my,, same here.. I got FL 9 and win7.. but it doesnt work!

  • @BezemerPeter You can use Microsoft compatibilty toolkit

  • Thanks for this great tutorial! Very useful!

  • the download link no longer works

  • @mickomoo Thanks for reminding me, I updated link!

  • @mickomoo Thanks for reminding me, I updated the link!

  • @milosjanata thanks so much!

  • sucks

  • Is it just me, or at some parts of the song, it sounds like the strings snap?

  • thanks!

  • What song is this on the video

  • @infamous294 Rachmaninov - awesome music

  • @milosjanata ok thanks

  • I can't get this to work... Win 7 64-bit, using ACID Pro 7

  • Rachmaninov...<3

  • sound great where can i load it?

  • I looove this VST.. anyone claiming this doesn't sound like the real thing fuck off.. I play the piano and feel that this gets as close to the real thing as it's possible to get on a computer. Not to mention IT'S FREE!

  • I don't think it sounds realistic at all.

  • i cant get any sound. The program loads, but i have no sounds. Do i have to get my own samples?

  • @blumonkeyboy I am having the same problem. Have you discovered a solution?

  • @3Daybreaker Nope, i gave up and started using Sound Fonts. Giga Piano is a good one

  • could you please tell me the song's name?

    thx :)

  • I use it on windows vista and it sounds great never had a problem

  • no its not better but for free is amazing i think

  • hey i´ve got the version cvpiano gvi modelled

is this the same? ´cause i can´t click on the edit button :(

    Thx for the tut ;)

  • Alicia Keys has a Piano VSt coming out 1st April sampled from her Yamaha C3 neo looks interesting Yammha helped Native Instruments put it together. If it turns out to be marketing hype whats the alternative i want the most real sounding grand piano vst to compliment Omnisphere.

  • is dis better than truepianos? (ignoring cost)

  • It has more personality and awesome lows. unfortunatelly its not so easy to use and its high CPU demanding.. And is not supported anymore :/

  • but it depends on kind of music u want play.. good for jazz /classic not very good for pop i think.

  • @Xjordanary Until now, it seems to me the best free vst for piano...

  • @Xjordanary NO

  • @simonwellander what is the best? share with us

  • @milosjanata since this post i have come to use boesendorfer 290 vst. Its by far the best piano vst i have ever used. Yes its resource heavy, and im lucky enough to have a machine that runs it with no hitches, but its still, in my opinion, the best out.

  • @milosjanata Pianissmo and true pianos is the best i think. Pianissmo is cheap and has very good sound!

  • Great! Thank you!

  • Would love to try this. Where do I get this from? I have tried kvaudio and the link here takes me to their site... then I cannot find the download link.... thank you

  • it wont install into win XP SP 3 it says I have to install SP 2 wtf

  • Yes, maybe it would be nice to check if there is any way to disable servicepack version check during installation process.

  • @NielsShoe

    LMFAO hahahahaha whwhawhwhawhhahahahaha

ahahahahhaaha...........sorry that shit was to funny fuck it then i'm not downloading this shit. I got vista, what's it guna ask me to do, install windows 98? ha.. jk. but fuck downloading it then. Ill stick to the defualt FL studios piano. xD

  • yea hey so, mcafee+artemis found Artemis!51D8B417C7DB, NOD32 found Win32/PrcView and Dr.Web found Tool.Prockill in the CVPiano-GVI-Modeled_Setup.exe. whats up with that?

  • How to fiddle with the parameter served as a reference!

  • How do i install this??? Mine also say the you need the windows ex service pack 2?!?

    Can you make a guide?

  • I have same problem now.

maybe it does not recognize SP3 or some updates.

Guys could u tell us which updates u installed?

  • I may be asking a really really stupid question, but I installed this into flstudios and I can't load anything into any of the channels, so far I can't figure out how to make a single sound. What am I doing wrong?

  • Using too many S's.

  • Yes really free.. I've tried it, but the dynamic is too wide IMO, and a bit lack of sustain..

Does anyone know how to reduce the dynamic? I mean the volume range, not changing the timbre..

    Btw, very good video!

  • I am actually looking for more dynamics....I have Eastwest's Goliath with PM1 290 piano and dynamics are crap

  • What's this melody?

  • rachmaninov piano concerto no2

  • Got this.. It is Amazing!

  • Anybody got a download link for this vst i cant find it ?

  • Comment removed

  • I cant install i get a message about getting SP2 or newer but i have SP3!

  • @stuffstuffroblox I have a fix for WinXP!!! Folow the link in description below.

  • Comment removed

  • really free?

  • can someone pls help me!! i downloaded this today but when i start it in FL STUDIO i cant seem to get any sound from it!! its really buggin me!!i dunno what i did wrong.. i extracted the .dll file to plugins but it wont play!! help me someone pls~

  • Dont just copy dll, install it and set path to shared Vst directory. dll just itself won't play.

  • message me about how to install! i had problems when i copied the dll & folder to fruity loops Vst's folde. Thankyou.

  • i have the same problem, and i searched forums for solution... can't find anything. fucgg

  • Can someone post the download link please been searching for this for ages

  • omg, perfect sample, thank you !

  • isnt 156 megs a bit big for just a vst

  • yea its huge

  • what do u mean with "just a vst"? VSTs are programs.. they are "generally" little if they generates sound, but a real piano can't be "generated" with synthesis to sound true.. to do so the VST needs to connect midi notes to real piano samples. and the samples ARE huge if they are in good quality (16/24bit). Just think to EastWest's Bosendorfer (a real piano) VST.. samples in 24bit, 2GB of diskspace needed.. ;)

  • Piano's can now be synthesized. Check out PianoTeq's fabulous modeled piano. Lots of amazing math going in there.

  • you're right, i found a video about it just one week ago and it sounds great.. it's approx 25/30 mb of diskspace if i guess right ;) also "burning piano" preset of Spectrasonics Omnisphere sounds great, but the omni's weight is 50gigs of diskspace.. ops! =O

  • Yea, pianoteq is just beginning. In future all instrument sounds will be rendred as physical models of instruments themselves. We need insane CPU power to make it in realtime. Need to wait a few years..

  • Real Talk. Some sample sets included with VST instruments are nearly 100 GBs of space. Depending on what kind of quality music you're pushing out digitally. You're gonna need some SERIOUS Capacity. Vienna Instruments has over 550 GB in sample data!

  • @KeithRonaldssen

Wrong. Pianoteq rivals and sometimes even outshines sample based vst pianos...

I realize your comment is a year old, but it was as true then, as it is now. :)

  • @superfatamusic Yeah, Pianoteq uses advanced acoustic modeling, its the future. Still has some limitations. As far as I know it costs 99eur.

  • @milosjanata - 4front true Pianos is no slouch either..

  • @KeithRonaldssen Well, any vst or piano program based on usage of recorded samples is not good enough. The 4th generation piano is. The program is called Pianoteq and it does not use samples. It generates the sound using a mathematical model of piano. That is why you have 127 different sounds for 127 different velocity levels. All of them sounding real. Plus it calculates the way the sounds influence each other inside the piano when theyre playing at the same time.

  • @KeithRonaldssen check out something called pianoteq, it's all pyschical modeling no samples used.

  • @KeithRonaldssen have you ever heard about Pianoteq? now there is a true (or at least very close) sounding piano VST under less than 20MB (fully synthesized using physical modeling, no samples)! give it a shot, amazing stuff.

  • @KeithRonaldssen I don't know but I've seen some packages of VSTi's that costs, and for the serious and high quality sound with piano, we are getting up to 40GB. And it isn't cheap either.

  • i dont really like this piano... i got it but even when i take some of the cpu off it still pops n freezes... purity is my favorite!!! its only 60mb and it comes with 1,300 great quality presets. it has everything from pianos to synths to brass... it has it all!!! great alternative if your computer cant run sonik synth or hypersonic!

  • Maybe, but is this 'purity' thing free, as both CVPIANO and Yanleo Accentor are?

  • CV piano is free. Accentor samples are - as author said - origing unknown, so its not legal or not good commercional use. We will se if he updates the library. Tehere has beed discussion they are pulled out of yamaha motif :D

  • Well, as far as logic is concerned, then we can use it untill someone PROVES they samples are illegal and contests his right to distribute the samples.

Untill someone does then it is legal and we can use it for anything as all we have is here say to dispute our usage, not a legal proposition!

  • where do u get this piano from

  • google it, folow first link.. u wil get it. it has about 156MB download size. enjoy

  • ok is the music from this video from the CV?

  • It's Rachmaninov

  • Which Rach piece is it???

  • Rachmaninoff Prelude Op. 23 No. 5

  • btw, if u interested, get an excellent recording: "Vladimir Ashkenazy, André Previn, London Symphony Orchestra / Rachmaninov: Complete Piano Concertos"

    search this>>>watch?v=rw9PUYawO9c

  • no its not :(

    does anyone know?

  • no it isnt?????

it is from rach 2 first mov. right?

    listen

  • Thanks, i hope this really works great

  • does it work with samples or is it all realtime generated?

  • There should be one sample recorded for each note. Program modifies sample using varius filters to get different sound each velocity played. For exapmle cutoff for low velocities and enhanced resonance for high velocities.

Shortly , it simulates unlimited layers, works fine for me. But it¨s CPU hungry.

  • is this better than DSK Akoustik KeyZ?

  • Yes, by a large margin.

If you guys want another great freebie, then look for 'Accentor', its a steinway and its great. 50 meg download, 200 installed and its worth it!

  • thanks mate, gonna try that one

  • awesome video, bro! just fix a few annoying spelling errors in the vid

  • the best free vst piano i have heard is called 'jazzbaby' ,,, it has no editable function but the qulaity is hell fucking good

  • I can´t find it mate. can u give me some direction?

  • Thanks! Imma look that up right now!

  • I dont think so. I have JazzBaby and I compared it with 4font piano modul which is same kind without any modulations. And 4font piano module is better in my opinion. But this one plugin (CVpiano) is unbelivebly freeware and sounds allright really!

  • i tryed Jazzbaby...but honestly it sounds cheap. CVpiano is way better.

  • Haha - GigaStudio got cancelled!

  • Found it wooo

  • the music of pibnochio nice song.

    0:10 to 0.30 seconds.wow

  • sounds great, how versatile is it, does it emulate jazz/blues piano presets.

  • IMHO CVpiano is great for jazz/blues/rag, still very usable for classic, and it's crap with pop. It simly has too much personality, and its not very clear.

After adding internal fx-chorus, it sounds nice "ragtime" or "bar style". Tweaking is pain... gigasampler is not optimized for piano instruments..

  • Where can i found this piano for download?

  • Try googling: cvpiano. easy to find. dl has about 160MB.

  • I found another free piano plugin: sampletank piano, but maybe it's not full functional I will bring review after i test it.

  • where can i find this download ive hella been lookin

  • just type "cvpiano" into google and folow the link. cmon u can do it baby...

i already put the link but utube deletes all hyperlinks...??

  • naw i got this one i was talking about the sample tank piano

  • oh yea,sry m8. but this will be crap after 10 days. is disables polyphony:(

  • all good bruh i got hella samples from my potna as long as its better than fl keys im good

  • when sample tank expires u can also try "mda piano". its small download size ,very simple and easy.

  • tascams website

  • Yeah... Not the best sounding piano VST you can get, but the best you get for free. ^^

  • This VST is really free ? It consumes much CPU ?

And what about hard drive space? I was looking for a good piano VST for a long time. The song on the video was made with that VST ?

Im using Nexus which also has oustanding piano presets.

  • Hi, this is really free stuff, 2ghz single core pentium smoked out:D, dual core better, instalation approx 200MB i think.

The song is probably Rachmaninov's piano concerto 2 Cmol midi file played through this plugin using SonarXL as a host.

Piano is difficult to configure but it gives GREAT FORTE resonant sound!
