  • One of the things that really warmed up was getting a small electric fireplace stove for the kitchen and bedroom, They were under $100 each.

. I also took several photos lhad them enlarged, put them in frames and placed them around the cutaway window between the kitchen and living room. I'm still working on making the bedroom a bit more cozy. It small. Any suggestions?

Also, my living room rug in blue, sofa blue, but the furniture is brown. How can I incorporate green into the room?

  • I want to be an Interior Designer when I grow up haha just thought id say that!(:

  • Ehh .. Where Did The Apple Gone To ?

  • I need help.to lol.im moving on my own on the first but I have a lil studio im.so excitef to decorate it but like on a tight budget but want the modern look fir cheap lol reallll cheap :) HELPPP ...

  • @pr3tti3luv

Pick some colors you like...Keep an eye on thrift stores, garage sales, and craigslist, and freecycle (I got 2 color tvs for free after asking if anyone had a working one!) Check dollar stores for knicknacks, wall decals, frames etc...I got a loveseat from my neighbor who was moving-$10 plus he toted it over for me. Woohoo! Don't worry about getting everything at once or from the same store...Hope that helps

  • i love ROSS dress for less. they have great home decor for cheap

  • I Make My Own Headboards with Out Having to Shop at Lowes or Any Tools Basically All You Need is a Stapler, foam, fabric buttons and Thin Wood from Michaels :)

  • like u guys said wit the wrapping papper to hang them up if u have any old fabric u could do the same

  • thrift stores, big lots, dollar tree, the 99 cent store the list goes on..i found these wall decals at the dollar tree that wouldve cost me at least $15 anywhere else!

  • sooo helpful!!

  • 1:05 - 1:15 : Priceless! Hahahaha!

  • since you are probably renting, i have this great idea, get a giant blanket, or wrapping paper, and make sure you love the pattern and color. have enough blanket, fabric, or wrapping paper to cover a wall and pin it onto the wall for a wallppaper subsitute. it adds great color and is easy to replace! also, painting is reat, along with homade pillows!

  • Decorate on a budget? Craig's Fucking List ("free" section). Curb-alerts are sweet.

  • i suggest paint on the walls.

  • All my home decor and art comes from Marshall's or Ross. Bedding is from Walmart or Target. Big furniture is always from the small family owned stores in the ghetto (sorry). My home looks like I spent a million dollars on it, and I hardly spent anything and it looks GOOD !

  • some of my decor on the cheap: I bought a book w/ these cool black & white photos in it of flowers, france, etc.. at the thrift store along w/ diff size frames that I painted black- total cost for awesome wall art arrangement: $5

I find EVERYTHING at the thrift store- I found this vintage black petti coat & I guess nobody would buy it cuz it had these hideous big, gold buttons so I found some I loved & replaced them. total cost : $3

you can have almost ANYTHING for nothing if you get creative!

  • I have a beautiful apartment thanks to Salvation Army, Family Dollar and Big Lots. You'd be surprise what you find at Salvation Army. I have made it a habit to shop there and find the most beautiful things for my walls and furniture -

  • you can go to the store and get a little fabric and make wall art with it and so ribbon hot glue and a box there is so many things you could do

  • Get several yards of whatever fabric you want from a craft store. Turn them into drapes just by well... draping! No sewing required. A window treatment can *really* change the way a room looks and make it look more put together with very little cost.

  • My friend made pictures in arts and crafts and hung them up in her house, you can make picture frams from popsicle sticks, Wal*Mart has some nice things too.

  • Also, yard sales are awesome if you want something "new". I bought 6 chairs and a table for a very low price, my friend didn't understand why I would by them because the color was awful. I painted them white and added some details on the chair, now they fit perfectly in our dining room.

  • For the bathroom ( or other rooms it you want or can but it would be a mush bigger change), Do all the big things in white or light colors, so that you can easily change the whole room by switching between different colored details.

  • If you have any clear containers like vases, you can fill them with different colored beads or pebbles.

  • if you want some more sitting areas try buying those big foot stools and put em together and cover them with one big sheet that has nice colors or u can reupholster them what i did was went to a thrift store and got some ugly colored lamps and got some krylon spray paint and painted them similer colors and put them in my room and living room also buy some of those bamboo plants there so easy to care for

  • I had my canopy bed, matching dresser, and night table FOREVER! but the drawers were so small, that I couldn't fit my adult clothes in them, and in turn my closet was stuffed to the gills! I like the idea of using kids furniture if you are trying to be more whimsical, but at the same time, be careful to pick something that will work for YOU, and isn't just gorgeous. GOOD LUCK!

  • Julie is wearing the earrings which Mary wore in the previous episode

  • hey Meghan

I noticed that all your walls are white. Try painting one of them a bold color. Since you have a dark floor and some wood accents, an ox blood red or a burnt sienna type color would do wonders to make your home more warm and 'lived in'. Also try and buy a non-matte paint, a light gloss in paint makes makes it more hilton chic rather than backstreet motel. Fixing up your lighting would also do wonders, for your room and the way you look in it ;).

  • The most bang for the buck is always Paint. If you are renting and the landlord does not allow paint, hang large painted objects that cover a large portion of the wall. White walls SCREAM generic apartment. Wallpapers are coming back as well as hundreds of paint treatments. You can fabric walls as well. I love to apply foam and than fabric.

  • i just get creative if i want to decorate. like i paint cups and use them as pencil holders and it brightens everything up. or beading an old lamp shade. just avoid the clutter. i systamaticly clean and get rid of things so it looks clean and up beat.

  • can find awesome stuff at ross u have to dig but u can find awesome stuff =]

  • What happened to the apple on Meg's computer?!?!?!?! 0:27

  • oooh good catch lol!!

  • @grahamgrafx It went to sleep mode so the light turns off.

  • What my family has done is that we ask around. Lots of times family and friends will have old well constructed furniture that all you have to do is get it reupholstered and it's just like brand new! And if you happen to live near a fashion district (like downtown L.A.) it's waay cheaper to buy the fabric yourself.

  • I've taken gift bags (w/o the tissue paper)that are decorated nicely and framed those too...just cut 1 side of it off and remove the handle- looks like your wallpaper example in this clip

  • try IKEA! My sister decorated her whole room from there. And it was affordable to!

  • I loved this video, it was very well put together and so helpful. I've been trying to find a way to put my style together with my boyfriend's and this has given me the greatest ideas. Also, try reapholstery, I am not a professional but you'll be amazed with what Fabric and a stapler can do. French corkboards, painted headboards...so much stuff <3 your videos. Thank you.
