  • At the beginning what is the lion's name? 0:02

  • Among the animals being chased offstage during the "Lion Sleeps Tonight" number include:

Bosko the Baboon, Randall the Zebra, Trudy the Chimpanzee, Phoenicia the Hippo, Lydia the Ostrich, Tommy the Thompson's Gazelle, and Stinky the Skunk (all from the Animal Show)

  • I was so excited when Muppets Tonight started. Darn the bigwigs for not sticking with good shows until they get their followings going.

  • Anyone know who is right about the number of countries?

  • OmG It's FUZZY BEAR!

  • Sam REALLY has a rat show?! Really?

  • lol the two pigs randy and Andy cracked me up lol!

  • "Wait, wait, wait! St Kits and Nevis are two countries. "

"No no, Larry. No sir. Constitutional monarchy, single federation."

Of all the quotes I remember from my childhood, this one has always stuck out in my mind. XD

  • for me it was "RETRO 60s MONTAGE FANTASY"

its from the Cindy Crawford episode where Bobo falls in love with her.

Bobo had some of the best lines on the show lol.

  • lol, if you don't deliever the calf in 30 mins it's free

    Billy: :O Stop it!!!!

  • Phonecia the Hippo, Billybob the Lemur, Bernice the Warthog, and Trudy the Chimp would've been seen on stage for the number "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", though.

  • "STOP SINGING! ERNIE, STOP IT!"

  • big ups 2 st.kitts and nevis... my country!!!

  • Man I'm so bummed that Jim Henson died when I was a kid. He was a genius! At least his son Brian, Dave Goelz, and Frank Oz are still continuing the great muppet tradition

  • True. Not to mention patron saints such as Steve Whitmire, Bill Baretta, and Eric Jacobson. It's a good thing that in one way or another, despite a couple hiccups here and there, Jim Henson's legacy continues and all the characters he created are still relevant.

  • Love the Lion sketch

  • STOP SINGING!!!

  • I love the muppets. The Muppet Show and Muppets Tonight.

  • Jim Henson is a genius.

  • Yes he is! =D...but he didn't work on this show unfortunately

    =(

  • Because he was and still is...dead.

  • thank god for cloning

  • Yeah, cos there's sure to be some of his left over DNA up Kermit's butt LOL

  • And before anybody gives me grief for that sentence, I point out that his HAND went up Kermit's butt. I'm not being offensive.

    Rude, Yes but not offensive...

  • pretty funny

  • Billy Crystal is SO funny.

  • I haven't seen all the episodes of The Animal Show, so can someone tell me which animals are running away?

The animals I could identify were the lizard from the Jim Henson Hour opening, one of the "I Go To Rio" parrots, Alfonz, and a snake from The Muppet Show.

  • What is your opinion of taxes?

Oh, Texas the long-horn state. LOL!

  • On the first one I thought the sneeze part was kinda strange.. But if you dont want towatch the real movie where it's nothing close to a sneeze,, watch this

  • "Why would I want to attack Bill in his house?" Lol!

  • Yes, Andy and Randy Pig are hilarious! They were some of the funniest characters in this show. I love the "Eagle's Nest" sketches, especially the one in the Cyndi Crawford episode, and they were really funny in the episode with John Goodman.

  • There are only 191 countries... LOVE IT!

  • The Lion sleeps tonight Clip Rocks.

  • Here, here. :)

  • "...I made a MISTAKE, that's what I made!"

  • No, no, constitutional monarchy larry....

  • LOL Yeah! I love the 'in the jungle clip'!! Sam should go on the Colbert Report!!! LOL That would be priceless!

  • did they mean bill clinton?

  • dude were you paying attention? They were talking about a new tax "bill" that got passed in the "house".

  • "The Eagles Nest"?

    Colbert Stole it!

  • Various animals used for the "In the Jungle" number were first made for "The Animal Show", with exceptions of these:

    A Lizard

A green parrot with a red head

    Alfonso D'Bruzzo (the pink-orange-and-yellow parrot)

Forcryingoutloud Bird (the green one; first seen with five other Muppet birds in the second Muppet Show pilot "Sex & Violence")

    Two Snakes

  • The lion sounds like cookie monster.

  • You're right- when he lies down he sounds a bit like Cookie Monster when he's wolfing down a cookie.
