Among the animals being chased offstage during the "Lion Sleeps Tonight" number include:
Bosko the Baboon, Randall the Zebra, Trudy the Chimpanzee, Phoenicia the Hippo, Lydia the Ostrich, Tommy the Thompson's Gazelle, and Stinky the Skunk (all from the Animal Show)
Phonecia the Hippo, Billybob the Lemur, Bernice the Warthog, and Trudy the Chimp would've been seen on stage for the number "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", though.

If Billy Crystal channeled Roy Rogers and got a stampede, than I don't know what what would happen if he channled Tom Jones or Elvis. Heck, it would be chaos if he channled someone who was actually a bad singer.
i tell you.. any one of these skits are more entertaining and better produced then any SNL skit.. at least in cowboy sketch they admitted to not having an ending...
learn how to wrap it up SNL.. you guys are dying out ther!
pS Fraggle Movie 2009!!!!!!!!!! dark crystal 2!!!!!!!!!! cant' wait
Man I'm so bummed that Jim Henson died when I was a kid. He was a genius! At least his son Brian, Dave Goelz, and Frank Oz are still continuing the great muppet tradition
True. Not to mention patron saints such as Steve Whitmire, Bill Baretta, and Eric Jacobson. It's a good thing that in one way or another, despite a couple hiccups here and there, Jim Henson's legacy continues and all the characters he created are still relevant.
I haven't seen all the episodes of The Animal Show, so can someone tell me which animals are running away?
The animals I could identify were the lizard from the Jim Henson Hour opening, one of the "I Go To Rio" parrots, Alfonz, and a snake from The Muppet Show.
On the first one I thought the sneeze part was kinda strange.. But if you dont want towatch the real movie where it's nothing close to a sneeze,, watch this
Yes, Andy and Randy Pig are hilarious! They were some of the funniest characters in this show. I love the "Eagle's Nest" sketches, especially the one in the Cyndi Crawford episode, and they were really funny in the episode with John Goodman.
At the beginning what is the lion's name? 0:02

I was so excited when Muppets Tonight started. Darn the bigwigs for not sticking with good shows until they get their followings going.

Colbert Stole it!
exomnium 4 years ago
Various animals used for the "In the Jungle" number were first made for "The Animal Show", with exceptions of these:
A Lizard
A green parrot with a red head
Alfonso D'Bruzzo (the pink-orange-and-yellow parrot)
Forcryingoutloud Bird (the green one; first seen with five other Muppet birds in the second Muppet Show pilot "Sex & Violence")
Two Snakes
