Comparing this theme with P3 and P4 is like comparing Mozart to Michael Jackson. It's music, but they aren't in the same style, so preferences are gonna dictate what is more popular...
Of course it sounds similar, they are all made by the same company, and Atlus always adds its own flavor in its music. That doesn't mean they have the same style though-- each game has its own leitmotif, and neither of the three games in question share the exact same one.

Still, I think the original was more suited to the battle. It was dark and creepy, like the subject matter. It matched the atmosphere and the boss itself. This new version is upbeat and energetic. Very lighthearted. Friendly. A smart choice if the designers were aiming for mass appeal.
God if you ever saw pandora, you would shudder in fear. Joshcorcher and peanut3423 did a top 15 most disturbing bosses, and this thing is higher than giygas!
Persona 3 honestly made me a little depressed during the last part of the game... it didn't help that all the jerks in the dorm wouldn't stop moping >.>

I'll get downrated so hard for this, screw Persona 5. Continue the main storyline damn it. Nocturne beats out Persona by a long shot ( screw the happy cheery funtime atmosphere, screw the Jpop too) head back to the older styling.
I wouldn't say your opinion's illegal. I kind of prefer Persona's character-driven focus as opposed to SMT's standard ideology-driven focus. I'm all for Law vs. Chaos (and I like it even more when they spice it up even further, though I'd have preferred the factions to be a little more... attractive in Nocturne). P3 is a little dark, though; The absolute best you can do is sell your soul to keep humanity from killing itself off for a little longer. Not world-ending, though, you're right.
@namedown Persona 4 was the only happy cheery one to be honest. 1 through 3 were a bit dark. Then again 1 and 2 (both innocent sin and eternal punishment) had one of my favorite outer gods of the cthulhu mythos in it (he's also one of the three strongest outer gods as well).....Nyarlathotep
Persona 4 is on PS2, but, just to make sure you didn't misunderstood my message, there is no Persona 5 yet. Persona 4 is on PS2 and it's really awesome, though.
@AzureDarkGod There are rumors and supposedly its been confirmed that there will be a Persona 5- its just under development and they are trying to decide what game systmes to make it for besides PS3- if they decide to make it for any other systems.

If the female wasn't a choice then they may have been able to do it then again the character models look slightly dumbed down (You get used to it in an hour or so) so they probably had to recreate every model again shame they don't let you use every weapon but I reckon the female choice is to blame for that, its alotta time to animate everything all over again

If you had a decent party those aren't really problems once you get a good tactic going for each enemy. I only ever lost to bosses and enemies I hadn't encountered before, and even than not to status effects. Fights were far from random.
In that case you must have finished successfully all those battles (but that one unfair gameover) in which your success was down to "luck" eh? Should buy a lottery ticket!

Im fighting this boss right now, the first form is a pushover but form 2 is a bitch too fight, epecially if you die cause the last save point is really far back in the dungeon.

There are only two types of J-Pop battle music, the awesome and the crap and it really depends on the song and game... example Mass Destruction from Persona 3 is the shit where in other games like Persona 4, I could never really get into the weird battle theme.

This one disappoints me. The other two battle themes are so lyrical and awesome that it's pretty disappointing for this one to have no lyrics whatsoever.
Atlus said they won't be making Persona 5 anytime soon. They're probaboly taking a break for a while like they did after P2 (though hopefully not as long of a break).
Ughhh... No. The Persona series is a great series, but SMT has been here for a long time giving out new and fresh ideas to the mix. The Persona series is and always will be the spinoffs of the main Megaten. As I said, there are other great megaten games to play other than Persona. The Digital Devil Saga series and Devil Summonor series are another example of a great non-main game series.
Everybody keeps demanding Persona 5! Sheesh! Let the creators do it at their pace! There's pleanty of other great Megaten games to play other than the Persona series until then

It somehow lacks the epic feeling of Persona 3 & 4's final boss themes, possibly due to the length of the track compared to the other games'... I'm going to blame it on the PSP's media capacity for audio, but.... surely they could have found SOME way to fit a longer, more epic song for the final boss... it sounds like a normal battle theme from Nocturne/DDS.
Aronnian could always mean that it's not a remake of the american version of persona 1 insted it's staying as true as possible to the oringinal japanese version
This song may be good for the very last boss when she transforms, but the old one would fit her first form. It was so menacing, The original theme is still one of my favs. It reminded me of "theme of endless" from Majin Tensei 2
None of the latter 2 Persona's can touch the thematic elements and symbolism that the older games have!!!!

It's not up to you, or your "tactic" OR your "party" to be CHARMED.
It's up to the enemy attacking you, attacking first, and charm hitting 3\5 almost always.
I never lost to anyone and only got one unfair game over from being stunlocked via paralysis [the others charmed].
I'm not a noob, and I'm not stupid.
When I say fights near the end came down to pure luck I sort of, you know, mean it ?

There are only two types of J-Pop battle music, the awesome and the crap and it really depends on the song and game... example Mass Destruction from Persona 3 is the shit where in other games like Persona 4, I could never really get into the weird battle theme.

This one disappoints me. The other two battle themes are so lyrical and awesome that it's pretty disappointing for this one to have no lyrics whatsoever.

Atlus said they won't be making Persona 5 anytime soon. They're probaboly taking a break for a while like they did after P2 (though hopefully not as long of a break).

Ughhh... No. The Persona series is a great series, but SMT has been here for a long time giving out new and fresh ideas to the mix. The Persona series is and always will be the spinoffs of the main Megaten. As I said, there are other great megaten games to play other than Persona. The Digital Devil Saga series and Devil Summonor series are another example of a great non-main game series.

Personally, I'm not going to be sitting around with baited breath as I await Persona 5, but perhaps in a year or so, I'd at least like to maybe hear about some detail of the game even if it takes longer to come out. In the meantime, I've still gotta beat P3FES.
Besides, if any game needs to come out already to me, it's Viewtiful Joe 3.

Yeah it is an awesome song. I never got to finish Persona 1 on the Playstation, so this PSP game is a real treat for me. Too bad I don't have a PSP.

It somehow lacks the epic feeling of Persona 3 & 4's final boss themes, possibly due to the length of the track compared to the other games'... I'm going to blame it on the PSP's media capacity for audio, but.... surely they could have found SOME way to fit a longer, more epic song for the final boss... it sounds like a normal battle theme from Nocturne/DDS.

For one thing, it allows younger generation Persona players to enjoy the older game without having to get a "lower-level" console.

It's the first game.
And it's not a remake, they're taking everything from the Japanese version, and using a revised English script.
Persona 5 will come, but later. This is just a slight detour. You know how little time they have to put into revising a script?

This song may be good for the very last boss when she transforms, but the old one would fit her first form. It was so menacing, The original theme is still one of my favs. It reminded me of "theme of endless" from Majin Tensei 2
